He was at the southeastern-most border checking things out. As he predicted, the eruption hadn't quite reached all the way over here, and the most he noticed happening was the occasional ash falling with and without snow, and light tremors beneath his feet. The temperature seemed to dip and it felt colder than past winters, but he wasn't too worried about that. They had plenty of game to catch and use their pelts to line dens and even use as fur coats if need be, and the North despite seeming like a wasteland had plenty of that to offer. One just needed to know where to look. Further more, it seemed the blast had driven more prey to them, and they probably scattered to other parts that were less dangerous as well. It was a good thing in a dire situation, and this whole thing seemed to work well in Winterfell's favor. He couldn't say the same for some of the other packs, he was sure. But they were not his priority anymore. Abaven at one point had been, until he felt like they had betrayed him. Perhaps not the pack as a whole, but Shaye had. He didn't like to think of such things anymore though. He was now his own man. He ruled the North. He had his own to protect. And that was all that mattered. The sun set behind him as he quietly walked along the border, checking for any signs of recent prey that might have wandered by. Perhaps soon...it would be time for the marriages and even the Winter festival. The pack could do with something to distract from them from the volcano.
