The girl struggled with all the changes in the pack. She did not know her place, nor her function. She felt entirely useless and yet she relished in the lack of expectations placed on her shoulders. She felt as if she were a shadow that could pass by silently, and silent she had been. Toxicity had been working hard to pull all the knowledge she could from Obi. She wanted to know all he knew of not only her Abraxas roots, but also all of that his own people taught and practiced. She still had much to learn about the Kleins, but felt somewhat detached from their mortal affairs. Still, they were her family and so the girl exited her solitude to join them once again.

Gadreel had been quiet during their stay here. Perhaps a little too quiet. Since his fathers passing he hadn't bothered to mingle with anyone, let alone the Klein side of the family and his own mother had been mostly absent. He left his den to find something to do, anything at this point. The brindle striped boy moved quietly through the canyon, careful to keep his footing so he wouldn't slip as he meandered along the edge. It wasn't long before he spotted Tox, the girl that kept sitting with him at his fathers sermons. He eyed her wordlessly, a quiet nod was all he gave her for the moment. He didn't know her well. Didn't know anyone well and wasn't sure he really cared to. They could call him the broody emo kid for all he cared at this point. After all, he was a boy of few words. Especially to mortal beings. But she was also his fathers child...so in a way, he figured they were on the same level as one another.

Toxicity's mismatched eyes were met with the rare sight of her half brother Gadreel. She returned his nod, wondering for some time whether or not she should speak to him. The silence passed comfortably enough as both were somewhat quiet by nature. She wondered what she'd say to him if they were to speak. She didn't think to cut up with hi as they were neither close nor the humorous type. She did wonder what he was doing around here, especially with the absence of their mother. Eventually Toxicity directed her gaze back at him.

"Bored?"

It was an honest question, not one made in jest. Boredom often overcame her in this bleak and ashy world. It's near colorless notes and perpetual winter chill had solidified in her heart. She didn't think to have fun in ways typical to most pups might, but she couldn't help but to realize she was terribly, miserably bored.

A single word fell from her lips and he glanced at her for a moment, studying whether or not that was meant to mock him or something. He sniffed, determining it was perhaps just a simple and honest question and he nodded. "Yeah." How could he not be? The world he was born into had turned dark and gray and bleak pretty fast. With his father's death and his mother's absence...he felt like all the other pups hated him, which he didn't really blame them for, either. He felt so alone and disconnected that he didn't know how to interact with the others and his bullying them was the only way he knew how. They didn't make an effort to help him feel included, and neither did the stupid alphess. She cried about how much she loved his father but all he could think was how it didn't extend to his other children. Maybe she was doing it out of contempt for them. Because she wasn't the only one to bear his children.

But what did he know? He was just a kid.

But he certainly spent a lot of time thinking about how unair it all was. And he often wondered how different things would be if his dad were still alive. Would he be doing his best to make him proud? Or would he still be the sulky, bitter, miserable child he felt? It was hard to tell, but he felt that maybe his outlook on things would be much better than they were now. "Do you think about him? And the things he said?" He asked quietly, keeping his gaze on the horizon instead of looking at her.

Her brother responded simply in an affirmative and Toxicity nodded to show that she got his message. She didn't know what else to say although she would have been able to sympathize with every one of his sentiments as he thought amidst their silence. She wasn't sure if he would say anything else. She wouldn't blame him if he didn't, and she was comfortable lingering in the lack of words. He did, however, eventually speak again and Toxicity's ear pivoted to listen. He asked about the things their father had said and if Tox thought about their father as well as those words.

"All the time," Toxicity said, he mismatched eyes gliding to meet his. "Nearly every minute of every day. Even when I sleep." She looked at him with a hidden desperation. "Do you?"

Her response gave him the tiniest bit of comfort. Well, at least he wasn't the only one. While he likely didn't hear him as much as Tox, he still liked to think about how things would be if he were still here. What he might say. If he loved him as much as he wanted to feel loved. "Yeah." He whispered again, feeling a little choked. Some of the thoughts he had left him feeling a bit empty, and Tox seemed to be the only one who truly understood. Or at least...he assumed so. She was really the only one that ever really talked to him. The only one who decided to be around him. The only one who didn't ignore him. And it got him to think...why the hell was he even here? Among an entire pack who didn't really give a shit about him? Who didn't really care that he was here? "Hey Tox, do you ever think about leaving?" He blurted out. He hadn't ever really thought about until now...but now that he asked, he was curious.

Gad asked her suddenly if she had ever thought about leaving. Toxicity let the words set and she looked off into the distance as she thought. She knew the answer right away, but she wasn't sure what to divulge. Finally, her mismatched eyes came to rest on her half brother. "Of course I think about it. All the time. But this pack has people who doubted our father- you can see it in their eyes. I want to make them all reconsider. I want them to just think maybe they're proud of me or maybe they think I'm a bother, but either way, I'll haunt their thoughts. They won't get rid of our father's ideals that easily. It will paint the pack for ages to come."

A small smile rose to her maw. She had every intention of making this a pack of her mother's godliness. Some Kleins might think the Abraxas was stupid, but some Abraxas might say the same about the Kleins. Toxicity wanted to prove them both wrong. She was the perfect mix.

"And you, Gad?"
