La Belle Fleur Sauvage
It had always been the night that suckled her, while it wasn't necessarily due to the sensitivity of her skin, the sun made her eyes burn and gave her a rotten disposition. The young goddess would much rather meet others by light of the moon, especially in the snow. Her white bodice seemed to disappear in the snowy blank spaces between trees, illuminated just enough to highlight her silhouette as she weaved a graceful path through the luminescent foliage. Her paws dipped into the snow carefully and cupped the earth as a great cat's would, hushing the fall of her paws to barely a whisper. Reflective lavender gaze almost seemed to glow white as the odd lights struck and illuminated them, lending a supernatural feel to the otherworldly beauty that was Lurid. Her head was held proudly, but there was a glint in her gaze that would allow others to see the beast that lay within if they knew what they were looking for. A beautiful savage flower, Lurid was truly hard to look at under the pale blue of the forest. Light brindle markings were highlighted and her fur glinted and seemed to sparkle as it caught the flash of glowing light while she walked. Strength poured from her, but not on her mortal shell. It was an aura, the way she carried herself spoke of power, of royalty.
The dark-minded woman strode silently through the mangrove, marveling at the trees and foliage around her. Perhaps one day she would claim the grove for herself if she could not find somewhere better to stash her family and any who wished to join her on her quest. Her dynasty would be restored, she simply needed time to sort out all of the kinks that came with empire building. Delicate ears caught the sound of a brook babbling, and her head made a swivel to catch the direction better, head tilting this way and that in an almost comical manner.
Her ears swiveled on their bases as they caught the sounds of another large predator approaching, and while she had finished her dainty drink from the stream, Lurid had propped herself back on her haunches and admired the dying landscape. Death carried with it a chatic sort of beauty, and while most lamented the sight, Lurid could see them for what they were. Death was only the beginning, after all. Soon, new things would grow and there would be abundance again, until then, the dark giantess would make her own fortune. The brown male that had come upon the moonlit queen, deemed it appropriate to talk after taking his own long drink from the water. He had sounded quite thirsty, and Lurid gave his thunderous murmur a terse smile in response.
Upon turning her reflective white-lavender eyes on him, Lurid quickly appraised the wolf who had addressed her with a cool glinting gaze, and a soft smile gently curving her lips. It was a rare thing to catch the monsterous woman in a good mood, the words that the stranger spoke seemed to lift the spirit of the demon.
Not only did he enlighten her on the meaning of his words, but he managed to cause the smile upon her face to widen, at least she knew he was smarter than the masses. They had all seemed to be more interested in the misery sewn by the volcano than the eventual liberation from suffering. This one was different than they were, in the best and most thrilling of ways. His heavily accented tongue danced behind his teeth as he formed one of the sweetest sentences she had ever had the pleasure of hearing. A confession as much as any she had ever gotten, the goddess canted her head just so and leveled her reflective white-lavender gaze at him, the holographic nature of her gaze seeming to change with every motion of her head. Where most would grow frightened, Lurid only felt a sort of anticipation rush through her veins.
To his revelation, Lurid would give him a secret of her own, one that would be easily tracked to the male should she hear any whispers about it reached her porcelain ears.
Some were meant to wander alone, but even the dark-minded goddess dared to long for company and companionship from time to time. It was what happened when one grew up in a pack that was one of the largest in the known region.
The snow white queen smiled as the earthen beast grew still, had she shocked him with her proposal? Lurid moved forward with silent paws and a feline gait to her massive frame,
She decided then, that she would persuade this male to come with her, to help her guard herself so that she might gain somewhere they would both belong. Trust would have to build between them, but he wouldn't be alone.
Their eyes met in a chaotic sort of dance, though his cackle had brought an easy laugh for her, gossamer tail swaying behind her to show good mood. When she spoke, her voice held the good humor she felt within it,
Her thoughts consumed her for a moment as she searched his eyes before continuing their trek. White lavender gaze scanned their surroundings for some poor soul to terrorize. With the rate she had been running into others, she would be awfully surprised if they found no one at all.
