Dragging the caribou back to camp hadnt been productive for speech. Bast had trotted along beside them, attention on their surrounds and possible hazards. Marshal has scouted on ahead, and together Lotus and Sirius had dragged the carcus home.
They entered through the Tall Grass Plains, and the Warlord took her into the communal meeting area. They approached the large fire pit, which lay unlit, but prepared, beside the great obelisk he had installed. The obelisk was a tall, flat-surfaced stone with the rules and regulations of the Armada pack etched into its side. He ignored both features, and brought her to the cellar. The large underground area opened via a trap door, but he did not do so yet. He released his hold on the prey and sat back on his hunches, breathing a sigh of relief as he stretched his jaw. "Welcome to the Armada. For future reference, this is where we store our food. We skin and sort the meat before preserving it. The scraps we bury just outside the pack limits. No need to encourage scavengers on the land." He informed her. "Feel free to look around. You can pick from an unclaimed den, or I can help you dig your own." He offered. He had dug out a few basic dens to situate the new members he planned to bring in as the pack grew.

Lotus had followed Sirius home, dragging their catch with them. It had been a strenuous journey considering the size of the caribou alone but she hadn't complained along the way. Her own curiosity towards her new home was what was taking the forefront of her concerns at the moment. When they arrived through the Tall Grass Plains Sirius led them over to where a fire pit lay, unlit of course, and Lotus allowed her attention to be focused on the tall flat-surface stone alongside it. The rules and regulations of the Armada were upon it and she was intrigued by it. This place was far different from any home she had ever known. Then again as a pup she hadn't really experienced much of a "home" to begin with. Her ragtag pack she had belonged to were wanderers, vegabonds, they never really stayed in one spot for very long. They didn't stay stopped alongside the fire pit and obelisk for long though as Sirius had other intentions. He led the way over to a cellar and Lotus peered around him to take a quick glimpse at it. She too was able to sigh out of relief when they dropped the carcass and she quickly sat, allowing her limbs to take a breather for the time being. 'Welcome to the Armada. For future reference, this is where we store our food. We skin and sort the meat before preserving it. The scraps we bury just outside the pack limits. No need to encourage scavengers on the land. Feel free to look around. You can pick an unclaimed den, or I can help you dig your own.' She nodded quietly for a moment before finally speaking, "Fancy shmancy.. This certainly isn't like what I grew up with. It's nice, don't get me wrong, just will take some getting used to." She mulled over aloud as she again took a glimpse at her surroundings. This certainly wasn't like anything she had ever been around but she was sure that she would adjust eventually. "I think I'd like to make my own den.. make it more personal." She spoke as she finally made eye contact. She appreciated him helping her, that too she was not accustomed to. |

“Take some time to adjust” Sirius suggested. She didn’t have to embrace their life-style full force on the first day. She could stand aloof, and learned how things worked here. He would not judge her for it. All he asked of her was her loyalty. As he spoke he already made a start on the kill. In well practised motions as he separated the coat from the meat, hung it up the rack set up near the cellar for this very purpose, and carved the rest into segments.
Pick a place, anywhere in the Tall Grass Plains, and we can work out what you want from a den.” he promised her. Perhaps she would want a cottage, like Io - a more difficult thing to build, or a cozy house with a high ceiling in the side of a hill, like he and Zee had. There was plenty of opportunities within the Armada.
He finished storing the meat, dragging it into the cellar, and backing out again, closing the trap door behind him. “Would you like to get settled in first, or care for a friendly spar?” she had already proven she was a capable fighter, but he wanted to see how much so. He already had the intention of setting her up to be someone to watch his back. He needed someone he trusted, and he was already clicking with this young spitfire.

Overall she was pretty satisfied with the new home she had acquired. So far things seemed far nicer than what she had anticipated and she was eager to get herself settled in. For the moment though she was content with sitting and watching Sirius as he worked at skinning the caribou. This life was certainly a luxury that she wasn't used to but in time she would learn to adjust to it. 'Take some time to adjust. Pick a place, anywhere in the Tall Grass Plains, and we can work out what you want from a den. Would you like to get settled in first, or care for a friendly spar?' Lotus was curious with how interested Sirius seemed to want to get to know her. Perhaps he wanted to test her skill sets which she didn't mind. She would easily prove that she could be a good asset to the Armada. Rising up off of the ground she pinned him with her mismatched gaze before offering him a mischievous smirk, "I suppose a friendly spar could be fun." This brought back memories from when she was a child, fighting with the other pups to prove their worth. She could be a dirty fighter, but if it meant survival it was necessary. However this was just a spar and she had no intentions of truly hurting Sirius. The petite female moved forwards then, her limbs guiding her as she quickly moved to circle him, eyeing him for a weak point. It didn't take long however for her to pinpoint where she wanted to land a potential hit. Rushing forwards her limbs extended, neck tucked as tightly as she could manage and eyes narrowed as teeth bared. Reaching out the female attempted to snap at Sirius' left front elbow, hoping to grab hold of the sensitive skin there and pin him in her grip. Meanwhile her nails dug into the soil beneath her in an attempt to keep her more grounded, her stub of a tail pointed behind her and ears flattened against her skull. Round 1/? The young white wolf was proving to be affable and resourceful. Stepping in with the coyotes, dragging the prey back home, and joining the Armada without a second thought. His pack, overly saturated with wolves that were not fighters, could sorely use her. “A woman after my own heart” he grinned as agreement once again fell from her lips.
He was a little worn from dragging back the prey, so he rolled and stretched his limbs as he began to walk a short distance away from the Obelisk and cellar, and into the tall grasses. Lotus, it seemed, was eager to get started. She began to circle him almost instantly, and he watched her small form, a grin on his lips. If there was one thing, other then Zee, that the Warlord truly loved, it was fighting.
She rushed at him, and he braced for her attack. He gave her the hit, letting her fangs sink into his elbow. He grunted as her attack landed, already bringing his other paw around in an attempt to buffer the side of her face and knock her off balance. His face darted forward, aiming to grab at her ear with his fangs.

It felt good being put to use again. Lotus couldn't remember the last time she had enjoyed the presence of another individual, let alone enjoyed the different tasks that they requested from her. She had always been a good asset to a potential pack and it felt like she was finally showing her true capabilities. She had been eager to engage in the spar, mostly because it had been quite some time since she had done such a thing. The fight with the coyotes had been a warm up and now here she was again dusting off the cobwebs. Lotus couldn't help but wonder if Sirius was being a good sport and allowing her a hold on his elbow but either way her hit had been successful. She had a decent clamp on his skin there but she was careful not to puncture it, the man had enough wounds including the fresh one on his forehead - she didn't need to add any others. However she had been almost too eager and in her rush to make contact with him she had neglected to brace herself for his rebuttal. A large paw of his made contact with the left side of her face, causing the girl to be jostled off balance as she shifted to her right a bit. She grunted, clamping tighter to his elbow in order to balance herself but the damage was done in the throbbing of her left temple. His objective had been to grab her ear but in the process of her jostling she managed to flex her neck outward. Her ear remained unscathed but instead Sirius had managed to grab a decent portion of her neck and scruff. She felt like she was pinned and for a moment she hesitated, her age and inexperience showing. She took this brief second to lean on her right side and in that moment her left front paw extended outward in an attempt to scratch at his chest, hoping to break his hold.
