Iolaire was seeing to his physical wounds, but also attempting to help his mental ones as well. He was recovering relatively quick, but Io wasn’t surprised. He was an easy patient, he had not the will to fight her and following her orders resulted in a quick recovery. However long he still had to go. The silver marked titan relaxed on the furs spread outside Io’s den. Roan wasn’t strong enough to go anywhere unaided yet, but the returning sunshine was as good as medicine.
Roan was forced to contemplate his new future however many decisions he had yet to come to yet. The one he could see most clearly was his debt to Iolaire many times over. For his life, for laying his sister to rest, seeing him to full health.. the list seemed to continue on forever. Roan thought about that and dwelled on his guilt almost as much. It gnawed at him like the bear had done to the sister he allowed to die. He struggled inwardly with how unfair it was that he was here trying to go on and she could not.
With his great head nestled between his paws Roan looked out at the path leading from Iolaire’s den turned infirmary. Contemplating those thoughts and more as the day marched onward.

The injured bear wrestler was a wolf he had intended to seek out, as soon as he was capable of receiving visitors. How quickly he made it to this visit had been hindered by trespassing Odette and her quick rise to handmaiden. When that business was out of the way, he would make his way to Ios den. He had no doubt he would find the man there.
He lay as comfortably as an injured man could, above furs carefully laid out at the dens entrance. Sirius could see a little more of him now that he wasnt dyed in blood and half chewed up.
He recognized the coat he lay on as one of the buffaloes he and Io had taken down a few months back. Once they had been cured and prepared, he had gifted one to Io. A sign, perhaps, of how much Io cared for her patient.
"Your going to live, I see." Sirius said, as ways of easing him into conversation. It could be said the titans subtly was as gentle as a brick. He took a seat and gently poked a hand against the deep bear gorge across his face. Sirius had a feeling he would never be forgetting the bear that had done this to him. "Io and myself risked life and limb to bring you here. And that's not even starting on the time and resource she and therefore my pack has put into you" Sirius said. His touch had only been quick, and he had already pulled back and given the man room. "You have a debt to pay off. What do you intend to do about it?"

Vivid green eyes watched as the Warlord made his approach, in the time that he and Io spent together she taught him the names of the important wolves he would do well to know. The one who pulled him out of the bear’s cave was Sirius. The Warlord of the Ashen Armada. Roan lifted his head from his paws as the alpha approached, his own blue eyes on him as the injured man assumed he was on track for him.
He settled in, the warlords relaxed position a reflection of his blunt words, yes his body was indeed going to pull through. However much his mind strayed to his doomed sibling. His thoughts were quickly derailed as Sirius’s paw touched to his deep wounds. All thought was gone as pain seared through his face, but the silver marked titan did not do any flinching but squeeze his eye shut. He deserved all the pain of his wounds, if Io allowed him Roan would have denied her attempts at pain management since the first day.
Inky ears tried to focus on Sirius and his words as he withdrew his paw and focused on the future Roan had been trying to ignore. Dapple was gone, his way of life was over. Roan wouldn’t admit it, but he was lost. Emerald green eyes were already averted from Sirius’s huge form, his shame obvious in the way he held himself and kept his eyes from the Warlord’s.
Though he would have been equally as content if they had just left him to the bear he knew there was a debt to repay now. Iolaire made it sound like he was free to leave whenever he wanted there was no desire to use the Armada for their skills and then promptly bounce. ”Heal, first.” He croaked, still looking out into the desert instead of at Sirius. ”Then I suppose my life belongs to the two of you.” He mused quietly, having been avoiding thoughts of his future like the plague thus far. Roan didn’t want to think about his life without his sister.

The possessive Warlord knew his pack needed strong, capable fighters. He had Res, and Killian. Banshee who was still in training, but it wasn’t enough. This man had lost to a bear, but he had been enough, or foolish enough, to try in the first place. Once he was healed, Sirius intended to use his strength for the Armada's good.
“Indeed it does” Sirius agreed easily, and he didn’t intend to let the man forget it anytime soon. “Rest, heal, recover. Once you have done so, we will organise training, assessments and placement for you. You may work with us for a year to pay off your debt, after that time you can consider us your home, or be free of us” Sirius believed that to be a fair trade. He was not asking for the man's life, as he believed Sirius in a place to claim.

Roan was indeed a capable fighter, but everyone made mistakes and the man suffered greatly for his. He’d fought many bears in his lifetime, but the cave bear was the one that managed to best he and Dapple. It only took once to alter his life forever. Roan knew it would both take time to recover and then return to his previous fighting shape. He would consume many resources before he could return his debt.
Sirius didn’t disagree with him, he was indebted and the Warlord wouldn’t forget that fact. Roan was given his first command from his alpha to recover so that he might be placed appropriately into the pack when the time came. ”That’s fair.” Roan returned, one year of devotion in exchange for his life? The silver marked titan unexpectedly found his thoughts on Iolaire’s soft warmth and comforting presence. When his year was over could he stand to leave her here? He didn’t have anyone else in the world and his short time with her so far had formed a bond he couldn’t deny.
