Kai

On her way to the battlefield in search of new blood, Justice had stopped at the plateau to poke through the old war memorabilia in the hopes of finding something she could make useful. It seemed like every fighter these days had companions and gear to give them the edge, and while she was still just as happy to get down and dirty with her own fur and fangs she wasn't adverse to actually winning either. Seemed like everything here that would have made for easy gear had already been picked over, though, and while she'd noticed things had a tendency to surface once in a while as erosion and whatever moved stuff around, she didn't particularly see anything that caught her eye this time either. Maybe she would have to actually trade for something custom one of these days. Well, the tanks gave good shade for getting out of the sun, anyway. Summer always felt crummy when you always wore a black coat.

Kai had wandered quite the distance away from Winterfell's stomping grounds. As angry and idiotic as he'd been feeling lately, weirdly enough he was starting to feel some clarity about things, now that he knew just what it took for his servitude to be annulled. Help Winterfell with a few raids (and hopefully stir up some mischief in the process) and he'd been good to go. His ties to Winterfell would be severed and he wouldn't have to constantly watch his back, worried someone might be stalking him to return him to Acere. All he had to do was stay away from pretty women who claimed their puppies were trapped, and maybe he'd avoid any future situations like this next time...
The thought earned a scoff as he stomped across the plateau, clearly with little regard for where he was headed. Occasionally he stopped to sniff at the ground, pawing idly at the various trinkets that littered the field. Some seemed marginally useful, but he wasn't the type to carry around possessions of any kind, so nothing really caught his eye enough to warrant more than a passing glance. Tusks swung hard to the side as something caught his eye in the distance - no shimmering metal object this time, but instead a living and breathing wolf. From a distance the stranger was unremarkable, with a dark coat and decently-sized build, but he was interested anyway, and casually veered in her direction. maintaining the same lazy pace as he ambled over to her. "Looking for something?" Kai called out, his voice as nonchalant as his gait, letting a faint grin tug at his lips as he approached.

Justice was surprised to hear the voice call out to her, and her brows raised when she turned her head to see the tusks on the stranger who had sought her attention. Not that she hadn't seen other wolves with mutations, but tusks was a new one on her. "Nothing in particular," she answered his question, turning the rest of the way to face him, giving him a frank appraisal. "Looks like something a lot more interesting found me, anyway. Name's Justice Ancora. I was on my way to the battlegield for a spar and thought I'd poke around here for a bit first. Glad I did."

'Nothing in particular,' she answered him, and he chuckled lightly. This place was full of weird trinkets, things that some wolves might try to take and craft into something more useful, or even to simply hoard. Kai had never been the type of wolf to bother with physical possessions in that sense, and he doubted he'd find anything here that he couldn't live without. He was far more interested in other wolves - and clearly one had at least temporarily caught his attention, his gaze drifting from the ground to Justice and hardly straying as he approached her.
Her comment stroked his ego quite nicely and he found himself grinning a bit more widely at her words. "Kai Jarvela. I was just passing through myself. Headed nowhere in particular, but it seems I've found something pretty interesting to entertain me anyway," he added conversationally. Anything was better than staying cooped up in Winterfell these days, that was for damn sure. "Where are you from, anyway?" Her scent had a hint of something vaguely familiar, though it took him a long while to place where he'd encountered it. Right! The strange female from the northern sea, the one with the cat companion that had looked like she was about to drown herself in the frigid ocean. Huh.. interesting.
