On this morning, Azure had a splendid idea. Generally the boy was not an early riser, he was much more of a night owl and preferred to sleep his mornings away and therefore wasn't typically first out of the den. Today however he snuck out just before dawn, wrapping around the side of the den's entrance and ducking down low against the sandy earth. He hugged the wall close so that he'd be effectively hidden, prepared to wait as long as it took for an opponent to appear. The pup did not have miles of patience, though thankfully with so many in the den he'd not had to wait too long for one of them to appear. He waited and waited for what felt like hours, though in reality was less than even one. As soon as someone came out the mouth of the den, the pup prepared to pounce and strike - capturing the unknown opponent in a puppy brawl. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

The sun was only just peeking through the entrance of the den when Indigo blinked open his eyes and stretched his long limbs with a yawn. He licked his lips as he willed himself to stand, there was a whole world out there needing to be explored and all he had to do was wake up. Slowly he pushed himself to his feet and shook the last bit of sleep from himself. He bowed and stretched his joints again before heading outside. His grounding seemed not to matter so much anymore, not that he understood it to begin with. However, the lesson was still very much clear and real to the young boy. He had to protect his siblings.

Those thoughts filled his head as he was suddenly attacked right outside the entrance. Indigo immediately felt himself forced into a terrible growl. He was a huge puppy and that gave him a much more powerful growl than many other puppies his age. Indy’s instincts were true and the boy wrapped his huge body around what he didn’t understand was his brother. His vision went red and he didn’t see anything. Indigo only knew he needed to fight for his life.

With claws flying and his teeth gnashing Indigo retaliated fiercely. He’d never felt like this but his vows to keep Aslatiel safe, to never have the fear he would lose her ever again. He felt powerful even if he’d been taken by surprise.

Indigo showed himself first and Azure and he tumbled around limbs flailing, growling their best puppy growls. To Azure it was all in good fun and play, he didn't know how he'd frightened his brother and made him feel as if he was in real danger. When his brother's limbs came up and held him in a tight grip Azure struggled and growled, lifting his own forelegs to try and mirror his brother's hold with his own thickened limbs and wide paws. At the same time he leaned forward to try and grasp the boy's thick neck fur so he might be able to convince him to let go. Indigo would have enjoyed a good tustle had he not been startled into a completely different state of mind. He was protecting himself and his home, Azure was playing and embracing their fight training to the fullest. Claws and teeth were flying, Indy felt his kitty claws grasp hold of his brother’s flesh as his brother’s claws grappled with his own.

Indy was in a rage and he didn’t feel any of the pain that might have caused him to yelp in pain and run away. This was the real thing, this was the danger that his parents warned him about and he couldn’t back down. Azure’s mouth was full of his thick neck fur and Indy acted without thinking. He aimed to deepen his claw hold and his own teeth aimed to snag hold of Azure’s neck right behind his right ear. Indy would want to shake violently if he was successful.

Indigo had the advantage of strength, though the boys were even matched in height Azure was built lighter and wasn't the one fighting for his life. Adrenaline coursed through him but with less potency and urgency than the purple boy likely was driven by. Azure felt his legs begin to buckle as the boy deepened his hold. He felt the tiny punctures grasp at his neck and yelped. Why was Indigo being so mean? They were just playing! Az let his weight fall backwards, hopefully dragging the other pup down to the ground with him so he could kick angrily at his brother with his back paws. Azure Keres Fatalis vs Indigo for Spar. Indigo didn’t know what he was doing, only that he had to protect the contents of that den with his life. He attacked with all of his might, which wasn’t much compared to a full grown adult, but it would be intense to a puppy his own size. Indigo shook his head, felt the flesh benetah him tremble, but he was suddenly startled out of his stupor by the sound of his brother’s yelp.

His eyes snapped open and his jaws detached from Azure’s neck. He freed his claws from harming Az anymore, suddenly feeling sick to his stomach. He wes pulled along with Azure to the ground, but at this point he had lost all interest in winning.
