Indigo was stuck on the thought that he wouldn’t have fangs like their dad. From the day he opened his eyes the tiny purple boy looked up to their giant of a father in more ways than one, and he desperately hoped for similar attributes. He was out laying on the beach hoping that Aslatiel might come join him. Maybe he was moping but the uncertainty was getting to him. His mouth didn’t hurt maybe he would only have his dad’s deadly paws. He huffed heavily and put his massive head on his paws while sapphire eyes looked out over the horizon. The ocean was incredibly blue and the day was nice. He should have been out playing but he was here thinking too much.

Mortis explored by the stream , he hadn’t tried to go to the Ashen territories yet, but he had scented his siblings heading that way on more than one occasion. He knew they were allowed, and he itched to explore them, but he didn’t want to go by himself. For one, the islands that were the main part of the territory required crossing the land bridge to reach - and that was just to the main island. The rest you had to swim, and Mort didn’t know how to swim yet.
He was debating getting up the courage to walk to the first island, when he saw Indigo lying on the beach, looking as somber as the winged pup felt. Mustering up his courage, the boy limped on his fractured foot, making his way across the bridge, eyeing the water on either side distrustfully, until he reached Indigo. He flopped down beside his brother, saying nothing. The fear of his siblings rejecting him was a burning worry in his gut, that had begun the day Azure had pushed him.

Indy was too focused in his own head to hear Mortis coming, the sand muffled the sound of his steps and the ocean carried any other sound away. He didn’t notice him until his brother was plopping into the sand beside him silently. The chunky purple puppy offered a distracted grin as his dark coated brother as he leaned into his side. He loved all of his siblings dearly and always welcomed them into his presence even when he was off alone.
He remained silent for a long time, Mort seemed weary as well as wary but Indigo just remained peaceful and quiet. Despite the crazy thoughts that fluttered in his head or the uncertainties he felt like he faced. The what ifs that a young puppy like him shouldn’t have been dwelling on. ”You don’t feel like playing either?” The boy asked quietly as he nudged his brother’s cheek affectionately.
