Placid Sky [Theta]

With the large rabbit set securely between his jaws Éldi wandered across the plains, searching for a good place to settle down and work. Askr, his raven, soared through the air above him. The afternoon was reasonable. It was warm and quiet and a thin layer of silvery clouds were building up in the sky, blocking out the sun. It didn't look quite like it would rain just yet but Éldi knew he should plan on seeking shelter by the time evening fell.
Finding a nice place to lay down he set his catch down. Éldi moved to lay on his stomach with the rabbit between his front legs as his jaws started working to cut a line down the creatures sternum and belly. Askr landed next to him and started snipping the flesh around the rabbits neck.

Theta had been hiding out ever since the volcano erupted, she had used the mild panic and commotion to sneak away. Her original intention had been to go meet Noir, but the eruption of the volcano made going to their meeting spot significantly more dangerous. She felt a little bit bad about not pushing through it, but she felt that Noir would understand since most people do when it comes to natural disaster.
Theta knew that she was losing her mind being where she was so she hadn’t dared go anywhere near Winterfell since she had left. She was old enough and skilled enough that she could survive on her own and saw no need to leave the few lands that she had roaming for the past couple of seasons.
When she was taking a walk around she spotted a male who was laying down preparing to eat a rabbit, she had eaten enough as of recent but had to admit that the sight of a rabbit made her a little hungry. She didn’t see a reason to interrupt a man with a bird and his meal so she settled for flopping on the ground in the area. Her life as of late hadn’t been particularly interesting but it was better than it had been.

Éldi continued working his jaws along the rabbits stomach until he had it cut entirely. While he did that Askr finished snipping the hide around each of the limbs so that they could properly skin it. The rabbit hide was small but soft and warm and could be a useful item for a number of planned projects. Once the main cuts were made, Éldi started to peel the skin back. Askr helped snip along with his agile beak as Éldi focused on peeling. They were making good progress when a young she-wolf appeared not too far off. She didn't say anything she just flopped down.
She didn't seem too underfed so Éldi decided to make an attempt at conversation. "Hello there! Do you live around here? I don't suppose you'd know of a good place to seek shelter in case it rains?"

The other wolf had decided to speak to her, of course he had. Theta wasn’t unwelcoming of conversation from time to time as it was a healthy reminder that she still existed, but she wasn’t the biggest fan of small talk. The man had asked if she knew of a place to find shelter from the rain, of course she did. You didn’t live on your own without finding some sort of shelter, but she sure as hell wasn’t going to direct him to hers.
“I don’t know of any places that aren’t a bit of a walk” She didn’t “but there’s a cave system to the east of here, it shouldn’t be too hard to spot.” it was. There was a cave system alright, but it was down a ravine of sorts and had who knows what within it. She hadn’t quite bothered to scout all of it out, she’d let him find out for himself strangers well being were the least of her concern. If he got injured or died out there that was his problem to deal with, not hers.

Éldi listened to the girls answer as he continued working, the skinning impeding his ability to talk. He pulled the flesh from the neck and upper body, Askr still snipping along as he went. The girls answer was helpful. She spoke of a cave system to the east. With any luck it would be uninhabited and he could get a good nights rest out of the way of any storm.
Éldi pulled the hide down the torso, the belly and finally over the legs. When he was finished he had a complete skin and a skinned rabbit. He flipped the hide over so Askr could pick any remaining flesh or missed bits of meat from the skin. "Thanks for the information. My name is Éldi by the way."

He had thanked her for the information, pffft if he followed it he wouldn’t have a clue what he was doing. Theta may not talk to many people these days but she still hadn’t lost her snarky edge. The young girl still had worlds of progress to make mentally, but who knew if she would ever make them. She was stubborn enough that a mule would move before she would. Who knew when she’d come out of hiding certainly not any time soon.
She still didn’t feel like conversation but she guessed replying would be the smart move “My name’s Theta, don’t go telling people you met me though.” She didn’t want more people coming to her area than already did, she had enough problems with socializing as it was.

ooc: I also totally forgot they'd met! Not sure how to proceed with that xD I'm probably not going to have Éldi outright remember.
The name Theta tickled his brain a little. He could have sworn he'd heard the name before and come to think of it the yearling looked familiar but try as he might he just couldn't place her. He'd probably remember some time in the middle of the night. That's how it always seemed to work. He cocked his head to the side as she stated she didn't want him telling anyone he'd met her. Oh? Was she on the run? Up to no good? He could appreciate that. Éldi smiled. "I get that, don't worry I won't tell anyone I met you." He stretched and moved to pack up his things as the clouds continued to darken. "Good luck." He gave her a nod and headed off to see if he could find these caves.

Good luck? What the hell had the male wished her good luck for? She didn't need fate or chance on her side, she survived out of pure stubbornness and spite. Theta had been preparing for this moment almost her entire life, the moment when she struck out on her own to forge her own path. She may not be a complete adult yet, but she sure as hell felt like one. There wasn't anybody out there who was gonna tell her what to do without a fight and that was one of the best parts of having left Winterfell. Sure she didn't talk to many people, but they didn't talk to her and that was how she liked it.
Seeing that the male had left she just continued to lay there. If it rained it rained, she didn't care.
