The water is nice tonight

Finally somewhere hot, his fun little adventure had made a turn. Oddity was standing belly deep in cool water off the edge of a cove with dark black beaches. Live lava, that stuff that melted everything, that was solid. Oddity had seen it before, and it didn't surprise him none. Right now he was just enjoying the water after his meal of a small bird. Oddity pulled himself into the water with a smile wagging his tail underwater. This water was cool against his skin, making it a relief from the hot sun. Although he had spent a few other days in freezing cold places where his coat kept him warm. Even got his tongue stuck in one place. It had been fun but he was determined to get all the way around. Maybe then he would understand the world better too. After a long while Oddity stood up and started for shore, climbing on top and shaking the free water off of his pelt. He would dry in no time considering the temperature but the wind today made it so that he was cool. He sneezed before finding a nice shady spot to lay down and relax. He had eaten cooled off, now he was ready to sleep. Oddity hadn't gotten any sleep last night after trying to warm up his frozen tongue. His paw had been twisted in the process as well. Making a twinge of pain. Simply put he wanted to sleep for his own survival. Though it'd only be a doze, when not near a friend sleeping alone could be dangerous. Even his father had taught him that.
