He returned from patrol and immediately began looking for Indigo. He had an idea with the boy. He might want a bundle of little warriors, but he would be a fool not to see that growing things was his little sons passion. He would bond with the boy over this, even if he could not relate. He would be proud of him regardless, and would nurture this desire.

He found him outside the den, sitting like a dainty lilac, purple body easy to spot under the early morning sun. "Ah, little Indigo" he said, approaching and showing easy affection as he gently messed the boys hair with a nuzzle.

"I hear you have a plot of land now" he began, eyes dancing with amusement. He would not be taking the land back from the boy, instead he would encourage. "Tell you what. If you can find, name, collect the seeds if and grow, three plants that deal with headaches, I will build you an irrigation system for your plot." He challanged.

Indigo was by far the most cat-like of his siblings, his claws, his habits, his eventual lion like mane. He was going to be a saber toothed tiger when he grew up. For now he faced the sun, his bright blue eyes closed as he soaked in the early morning rays before getting to work on his garden. He spent a lot of his time with his new plants, just looking at them, fretting over how much water they had.

His name was suddenly in his dark ears before he got up to go about his day, Indy looked up to watch his dad approach. He pushed against the affection that was given as he returned the greeting. ”Hi, Dad.” The boy returned with a grin as his father got right down to business. ”I do!” He confirmed excitedly, Aslatiel made it for him all on her own. Violet tail wagged excitedly at his hips as he spoke about his prized possession. ”I will!” He promised, but he was struck with the curse of his self doubt. ”I can get aunty Io’s help, right?” He questioned after, unsure if he knew three whole plants to help with headaches. Whatever those were.

His most colourful child looked up at him, eyes as blue as a crystal sky, were bright and excited. He gave affection as easy as breathing, and made his old man laugh with the same sort of ease. He looked at the small purple child with nothing but love, even as he embraced the qualities of life Indi was leaning towards, and would nurture them through learning.

“You can get help for one plant from Io, and one from Bird. the third, you will have to discover for yourself - but either those two healers can supervise your experiments” there, that should give him two plants to find at their behest, and one to find through experiment - watched, experiment.

Indigo was one of the more peaceful pups, he hadn’t enjoyed hunting lessons. Gathering and tending plants seemed to be much less impressive and bloody. However he was slowly learning that plants could be just as deadly. Indy was much less nefarious in his mind than his brother and sister. Dark ears fell to his skull, his dad wouldn’t only allow two of the three plants to come from other healers, and he had to talk to Bird.

Indy had thus far avoided the smaller healer, though doing it entirely was impossible. The boy had an obvious affinity for his aunt, and preferred her as his teacher, but that was probably why Sirius wanted the boy to talk to Bird as well. He needed to get his learning from more than one wolf. ”That’s so hard though, Dad.” Indy didn’t get headaches, and how was he supposed to figure it out himself?

“Hmmmm, alright. Let’s change it to one plant that eases muscle pain, one to boost immune system, and one to bind wounds. You can consult with Auntie Io about which herb to look for yourself, but you can only get one herb from her, one from Bird, or another healer, and you have to collect and plant the seeds from those herbs yourself.” he decided, setting a challenge he believed might be easier for little Indigo to discover for himself.

He leaned closer to his son, bumping a paw gently up against his head. “Chin up, my boy, I believe in you” he said gently, before planting a kiss on the wolf's colourful forehead. Indigo had a garden now, and he hoped he could encourage the boy to learn as much as he could.

Indy perked a bit when his dad offered his thoughts audibly, he changed the stipulation a little, enough that he wouldn’t have to focus on one ailment for so long. The young boy brightened up as he listened to his parameters and committed them to memory. Muscle pain, immunity, and wound binding. He nodded once, it was still a little difficult but he felt like it was less redundant and he’d find it more interesting.

”Okay, Dad.” He grinned brightly, his lengthening canines more obvious as he smiled. The young pup put his chin up and wagged his tail, Indy loved his father. Spending time with him was great and he didn’t even wonder if he liked the activity or not. ”When are you going to take me on a patrol?” He asked suddenly, lowering into a play bow as he spoke.
