Poem nodded slightly to her sister as her eyes fell to their father, and the man Brandr. She hadn’t talked to the latter much but the former seemed to slowly be regaining his strength. Rhyme was much more like the old Tato she knew best. From way back before Motif was taken. Though she wasn’t sure how fair it was to pit her against their father Poem set her defenses and acted out first.

Without warning Poem aimed to grab hold of the side of her father’s neck with her jaws, since she didn’t know anything about Brandr it was easier to zero in on her father. Her pale limbs would aimed to wrap around his shoulders as she shook her head violently. A long time had passed since she had sparred with Rhyme, after everything that happened it felt good to let some of her stress out on him.

His oldest daughter was suddenly as his throat right after Theory finished speaking. He didn’t have much time to react to her words, he didn’t want to think about Acere and what he was doing to Abaven. Rhyme would reserve judgement for now, if only because Poem was on him. Rhyme leapt back, trying to decide where Brandr was and how much attention he needed to pay to the hunter as Poem latched onto his neck and wrapped her paws around his shoulders. He felt her teeth puncture flesh as she shook and the once alpha aimed to shove her off of him with a swift slam of his shoulder.

However uneffective it might be he also nipped at her ears to distract her and hopefully snap her out of the unnecessary ferocity.

They were divided up for their spars and Brandr felt a pang of nervousness but he quickly buried it. He'd better get over that now. It wouldn't help them when Winterfell attacked. Either way he'd be going up against seasoned warriors and he needed to have his wits about him. His goal was to, at the least, slow Winterfell down if he couldn't outright defeat their warriors. While there was some reassurance that they would not be seriously harmed and would be paid back for their trouble he still felt uncertain. Brandr knew nothing of Winterfell. He'd believe their promise when they delivered.

Brandr set up his defenses, pleased to see they came naturally enough. Poem started off immediately by diving at Rhyme who quickly moved to defend himself. Brandr seized the opportunity and dove at Rhyme's right hind leg. The hunter sought to throw his chest into Rhyme's thigh while darting his jaws down to seize the man's spine.

Poem’s teeth sunk deeply into her father’s flesh as she wrapped her legs around his neck and she shook her head eagerly. She was determined to show Rhyme and Theory both that she was going to protect the pack with every fiber of her being. She was too focused on her task, forgetting she didn’t need to rip her father apart to prove her point. His teeth were suddenly on her ears and she snapped back into reality.

The girl backed away, releasing Rhyme as Brandr went after the once alpha’s rear end. The movement brought a huge reaction within the young Destruction girl. Seeing her father attacked caused her to mirror Brandr’s movements. Poem aimed to bite at Brandr’s hip that was closest to her.

He managed to nip at Poem’s ears and it was enough to make her get off of him, he had mild puncture wounds but they were good for him. Rhyme had difficulties with keeping to reality and feeling the blood well at his wounds and stick to his fur kept him in the present. He didn’t have much time to think as he suddenly felt Brandr’s teeth in his spine as his hips were nearly shoved out from beneath him.

Rhyme instinctively aimed to kick out at the hunter, his foot aiming to put some distance between himself and his attacker. Poem want after the man and Rhyme then aimed to bite at his daughter’s hip. The chaos made him feel alive and he became more of the wolf that he was before than the one he had become.

Brandr's jaws seized hold of Rhyme's spine as his chest collided into the other man. He immediately attempted to keep his hold but Rhyme wasn't making it easy. The man's leg kicked out, striking Brandr's left forearm just above his elbow. It stung but wasn't enough to make him relent. Then he felt fangs tear into his hip from Poem's attack. He'd been so focused on Rhyme he'd momentarily forgotten about Poem. That was a dangerous mistake to make, one he'd need to be careful of in the raid when Abaven was likely to be out=numbered. He fought through the pain, attempting to keep his hold as he set the defenses he could.
