Natha balanced on the metal rails as she walked toward the mine entrance. A roll of thunder rumbled in the sky above her. Autumn threatened cold rains and Natha wasn't about to be caught out in it. She didn't plan to go far in the mine, just far enough to keep herself from getting soaked. She felt a rain drop splash on her head and she quickly bounded inside. Leaning against one of the wooden beams that supported the structure she peered back out as the rain began to come down heavier. Ah well, she was safe here for now. She bent her head and began to clean her paws when she heard movement. She whipped her head around to see a familiar, and colorful wolf. "Ah, you again. Seeking shelter from the storm as well?"

I wanted to seek, but I got distracted

Lúta had kept an eye on the storm and at the first flash of lightning she'd taken shelter in an oddly shaped cave. She didn't worry too much about it as she didn't smell bear at the entrance. The last thing she wanted to do was get trapped in a strange cave with an angry predator. Still, she kept fairly close to the entrance. That's also where she had the best light. Pulling out a small bowl from her bundle she set it in front of her and then went to nosing around in her bundle for the herbs she wanted to mix. She had some dried marshmallow and dried comfrey on her that would make a good tisane. She was still experimenting with the ratio for the mixture. This time she thought she'd try two parts marshmallow to one part comfrey.

Lúta froze when she saw movement at the cave opening. She watched in surprise as a lynx entered and then seemed to recognize her. It took her a moment before she realized she'd fought a bear with the cat. She smiled gently and nodded. "Yes, as a matter of fact I am. Would you like to join me? I'm just doing a bit of crafting while I wait out the storm."

"Sure, I'll join you. I might do a bit of exploring though while you do that." It wasn't that Natha wouldn't mind a chat but they clearly had their own ways of passing the time. Natha wasn't particularly interested in sitting down and messing with plants. Storms made her anxious and she was looking to expel some of that anxious energy. She started working her way a bit farther down the mine shaft. The strange cave system seemed to be pretty stable. She didn't notice too many puddles of water or leaks where the rain water was soaking through.

An odd wooden box on wheels caught her attention and she leapt up in it. Her claws flashed out as she felt the thing start to move but it only rolled a little ways.

To be honest Lúta was grateful for the silence as she went to work on her tisane. Social interaction could be exhausting for her the majority of the time and she wasn't sure she could talk for the entire length of a storm. She unwrapped the marshmallow and set it aside before unwrapping the comfrey. Once she had both herbs unwrapped she set to mashing the amount she wanted with her paws until she had fine crumbles. She eyed the bowl she had in front of her, guessing how much to fill it with each of the dried herbs.

Her ears flicked at the sound of metal on metal and she looked back into the cave but didn't see the cat anywhere. She could fathom a guess though as to where the curious create was hiding out.

Natha peeked over the edge of the cart, stared at Lúta for a moment then ducked back down in the cart before leaping gracefully out of it. She cleaned one of her ears before investigating the base of the cart. Aha! Just as she thought. Some how the cart was moving along the silver rails that went down into the tunnel. How interesting. She could only guess what humans had used such a device for. Turning back around she padded back toward the opening. Curious as she was she had no desire to go deeper underground. The weird artifacts left behind by human's was enough to creep her out.

Natha moved to settle near the entrance of the cave, golden eyes gazing out at rain.

Lúta carefully maneuvered the marshmallow into the bowl before moving in a portion of the comfrey into the amount that she wanted to try. Carefully, she took a stick in her mouth and then bent her head down to carefully mix the tisane until it was well blended. She was pleased with what she put together. Now, she just had to figure out the best way to transport it. Lúta carefully wrapped the bowl in a scrap of furless hide and set it aside. That would do for now.

She got to her feet as Natha went past her. She moved to sit on the other side of the cave opening and looked out at the rain falling down. She loved the sound of it. It was soothing and beautiful and at least it was a nice steady rain without a ton of wind or lightning. It was nice to sit here with someone else without feeling the burden of conversation.
