The festival had been a success, and so had the interest in the tournament that had been announced that he was hosting. After all the participants were accounted for, he led the march to the battlefield where the tournament would take place. He was curious to know who would win the first rounds as well as who would reign supreme at the end of it all. There were many he recognized, but also many he didn't. Regardless of who won the tournament, they'd be crowned Winterfell's Champion until the next tournament. After everyone was gathered, he started off by announcing the first of the fights. "First round for the advanced division starts with Artur and Proserpina. Remember, this is a dominance fight. Just do your best and may the best wolf win. Good luck you two!" The Northern King moved off to the side to spectate as well as start the other matches. He was curious to know who'd win the first rounds, and of course, who would reign supreme at the end of it all. The opportunity to test himself against strangers, to grow and improve in battle had been too much to pass up, though Artur had had little interest in attending any other aspects of a festival. In this first round he'd been paired against a young female of a similar age, though a few inches shorter. The northern alpha spoke to them both, and Artur gave both him and the female stranger a curt nod to acknowledge, then slipped into a defensive stance while the alpha moved away.

He didn't wait for his opponent to make the first move, instead kicking off to approach her in bounds. His attack was pretty straightforward, approaching her head-on to attempt to slam into her chest-to-chest. Subtlety was all well and good but so was ending the game quickly if he could take her by surprise and overwhelm her. He twisted his head to the left and snapped at the left side of her neck right behind her ear, seeking a grip on the muscle there.

She was stoic as ever. Carefully watching the other wolves around her as each paired off. Her eyes fell to the Winterfell king as he announced who her partner would be, and to her relief, it was someone who looked like they'd put up a fight and an even match. He was bigger than her, but then again Malleus had been, too. And she had triumphed in a fight with her cousin, so there was a chance she could triumph against this guy. Win or lose, she'd take it with dignity and grace.

After the Northern alpha spoke, she turned her attention to the male and returned his nod while preparing herself. Her hackles rose and her claws bit the dirt, ears pinning against her head while her eyes narrowed. He wasted no time in starting his attack and came head-on. Good. He didn't waste any time, something she could appreciate. She moved to meet him, their chests colliding and she winced slightly from the impact. There was sure to be a bruise there later, but for now she focused on the fight as adrenaline coursed through her. As Artur sought to grasp at her with his teeth, she threw her forelegs up in an attempt to wrap them around either side of his neck to hopefully get slightly higher before twisting her head to her left to grab his jaws in her own.

The woman took his charge without faltering and rose to wrap her forelegs around his neck, and sought to meet his fangs with her own. Not particularly wanting to cut up his gums and lips to meet her fang-to-fang, he chose midmovement to change gears, instead tucking his muzzle downward and seeking to slam his forehead down hard directly onto her nose in an attempt to break the bone there, simultaneously pushing forward determinedly step by step, his claws digging into the ground with each attempted stride, attempting to overbalance her with her standing on her hind paws the way she was. His left forepaw swept forward as he push, attempting to drag her legs under his chest to hasten the fall.
