Winterfell vs Abaven Raid
04-21-2020, 04:39 PM
Twig was fighting for Abaven’s honor. Just because it was supposed to be treated like trainin meant she was going to pull her blows. As their battle began Twig knew her opponent would do similar. The two women grappled in close quarters, both giving their all to the fight, both drawing blood with their bite. Twig felt Kirsi’s flesh rip beneath her jaws as she pulled away, and the small striped woman released her grip accordingly.
The Memoire girl uttered a heavy ‘oof’ as Kirsi drove the wind from her lungs. She fought to catch her breath and keep her balance at the same time. Twig used Kirsi’s closeness to her advantage and went in for a hold at the back of her neck the second time. Just because she couldn’t catch her breath didn’t mean she couldn’t get control of her opponent to end the match in her favor.

[PERMISSION GIVEN BY BELLE VIA DISCORD FOR PP <3] Desolate knew he was unable to keep this up much longer, his face felt as if half of it had been torn off and it was becoming harder to clearly see out of his left eye. Her teeth had gouged painful lines across his cheek and along his muzzle but it was sheer luck that it hadn't been deeper. If she was perhaps even a few inches closer to him when she bit he may have lost chunks of flesh instead. Panic flooded through the yearling as she continued her assault, barely feeling the hard shove upon his rear leg as her companion came to assist. While he'd done his best to knock Bellamy unconscious the she wolf had stayed too alert and aware for his liking. He needed to end this now. Desolate felt his fury peak within him and stamped his paw down upon her muzzle to hold it to the ground. He stood over her and snarled as fiercely as he could muster, the blood from his facial wound pouring down. While a part of him wanted to pain the wolf the same way she'd done to him, he felt her desperation too and perhaps somewhere deep within him he recognized the fear for what it was. He wanted to show her what he could do to her, and by holding her without retaliation aimed to prove he was the better wolf. He was reminded of his mother fleetingly, though the yearling was not sure why. At some point, the stranger's struggles slowed and Desolate realized she was no longer fighting as hard to stand. Whether his internal message got through to her or not he did not know, but he did know he had to get off the battlefield before something happened they'd both regret. His teeth remained on blatant display and his tail stood up high in the air, Desolate wanted her to know she'd been bested and came away relatively unharmed because he chose it. The pride he had for himself was the only thing keeping him sane, from letting go and retaliating for her attempted maim. Slowly, he lifted his paw from her face and stepped back. Not for a moment did he let his defenses drop or make any attempt to appear less threatening. He did not let his eyes off his opponent until he felt he was a safe distance away, after which he sprinted out of the clearing towards where he knew the healers were set up. -exit-

Fear.
It flooded through her and clouded her judgement… clouded everything. She didn’t fully recognize the one she was fighting anymore. Her stress had memories bleeding in with realty. What was real? What was past?
A paw slammed down on her muzzle and Bellamy yelped. She went rigged all at once, the fear shifting to horror. Desolate was no longer the one in front of her. She heard the snarl… but it wasn’t his. She saw the soldiers she was once under. She crumpled, becoming still.
“If you don’t walk more carefully, you dumb bitch, you’re going to die! No one will mourn you! You are disposable. You either do your job or be left for the vultures!” The voice of that man rang in her head as a half growl, half whimper fell from her lips. She expected jaws to fall on her… to take her life. But they never came.
When she finally managed to shake what was going on, head spinning, the stranger, had backed away. He was moving away. Bells got to her paws but she was shaking. Her head was lowered, green eyes on the ground, as her chest heaved.
“This… isn’t real. Dead… I’m dead…” The female squeezed her eyes closed.
It felt like it was hard to breathe. She was dirty, she was tired… and she was scared. It was too much. Her senses were overwhelmed all at once with parts of her past unaddressed that she held onto. Things she feared. Memories of those she, admittedly, still feared.
Her walls crumbled.
Her anger, her protection against those who would harm her, as gone. She was bare, a child again, as helpless to her memories and fears as she had been two to the Kedieo scum. She shuddered, words attempting to form on her muzzle but dying before they passed her lips, as she tried to make sense of what happened.
Ears looked helplessly at the badger and frowned.
“What…?” He mouthed the word.
Whiskers didn’t speak, sympathy in her gaze as she drew closer to Bellamy.
“Shhh… Bells. Shhh…” The female was more concerned for the well being of the she-wolf than anything else right now.
Bellamy jumped at her touch, yelping again as she opened eyes, wide, to look at the badger.
“Shhh…” The badger tried to approach again, watching how Bells shook her breathing coming out hard.
“I don’t… I don’t want…” Bellamy whimpered.
“We need to go. Come on, sweetheart.” Whiskers glanced at Ears and nodded.
They needed to get Bellamy somewhere she’d feel safe and could calm down to process what happened.

Tsunami managed a toothy grin as she saw the other yearling stumble, even better she found purchase near her jaw. Tsunami grunted as Motif tried to free herself and for a moment she tried to clamp down harder but quickly she released the other girl, the feeling of blunt claws scraping down her leg made her gasp and release Motif easily. Frankly Tsunami was tired of this already, she could tell her opponent's heart wasn't into it but it honestly just made her more frustrated. Tsunami tried to butt her chest right into the other girl's pushing into her personal space as much as possible, then she'd widen her stance, trying to press her legs into her opponent's forelegs and push them further and further apart, hoping to destabilize her. It wasn't an attack necessarily so much as being petulant. At the same time, she'd try to nip at the other girl's chest, give her as many little vicious bites as she could. Everyone else was getting in fights left and right, even his sister...but he remained without a fighting partner. He watched the other fights. Watched as his own pack mates either lost or won their fights, and it looked like the other side was winning. While Tyto didn't like to lose, his uncle did say he didn't care one way or another who won right? Considering they were allies or whatever. Magenta gaze searched the other side until he spotted a black and white dappled male that looked to be his age, and grinned. Alright, guess he'd go for that guy! The winterfell yearling raced towards the Abaven yearling, dodging the other fighters and avoiding everyone else so as not to get in their way until he was closer to Void. Even as he drew closer, however, he didn't slow down. Instead, he aimed to charge right into his side and bowl him over, and for added measure, he reached for the other youths scruff in an attempt to snag it and yank his head back while the rest of his body was hopefully falling the other way. Void stood tall, his huge form lingered barely over Abaven’s border. He didn’t feel fear in those moments but he did have the grip of anxiety as he debated about his skill and right to be here. He was determined, that much was certain. Void would do whatever it took to defend his pack. He only just got his mom and brother back and he would have gone to the ends of the earth to keep them safe.
Blue and lavender eyes narrowed as he watched the wolves around him begin to branch off into their fights. Void would defend but he wasn’t eager to start anything. Movement caught his eye and in an instant he knew he was about to be engaged with. The young Destruction bent his joints and star spangled hackles rose over his back. A snarl ripped over his face, but he wasn’t going to take the attack.
He was more practiced against wolves that were smaller than he was, but the Winterfell yearling was nearer to Void’ size. He watched his attacker carefully and Void managed to mostly dodge being rolled over. The other boy managed to hit his hips as he moved out of the way, and his opponent’s teeth grasped the thick fur on his back.
Void aimed to turn back around on his opponent, His huge paws aimed to trip up Tyto’s back legs as his huge jaws were opened. Void tried to gain purchase on his opponent’s spine. He didn’t wish to do long term harm, but he wanted to grab and gain control like he would have with Desolate.

Tyto had somewhat succeeded in hitting his target, though he had failed in knocking him over. Instead, he ended up hitting the other boy's hips and only managing to snag the fur on his back. Growling with frustration, Tyto sought to go past the boy before whirling around. Before he could do that though, he noticed from the corner of his eye that Void was trying to turn the tables on him. He growled in frustration, a snarl ripping free from his jaws. His momentum carried him forward, and just as he started to feel his opponents paws against his ankles, Tyto lifted his hind legs up and sought to donkey kick void away from him. Using the momentum from that, he almost stumbled face-first into the dirt, but he managed to roll onto his side before twisting his head around and snapping his jaws at Void in an effort to return the tripping favor. If he wasn't in the middle of a fight he was sure he'd be embarrassed that he'd lost his balance, but he was more focused on trying to keep Void from getting too close. Not that his position was ideal for that, but what could he do now? Fights happened too quick, anything could happen, after all. And it just so happened he had managed to get himself in a vulnerable position. If Tsunami saw, she'd probably never let him live it down if this meant a loss... Void had never felt pain like this, yes he and Desolate had practiced their fighting a few times before but nothing had ever gone as far as this. Though emotions came difficult for the starry pelted yearling he felt intimidated by the older boy’s growl as his intended target was moved. The Destruction boy took in a deep breath as he tried to center himself and focus on the movements of his opponent instead of how uncertain of victory he was. Void tried to put the thoughts from his mind as he took on a mirrored disposition. Void pulled back his lips to let forth a snarl that bubbled up from the very depths of his chest. A sound that had never been emitted from the quiet boy.
As he aimed to trip up his opponent Tyto shifted his weight and kicked back at him. Void felt the other boy’s feet push heavily into his chest as Tyto stumbled forward Void stepped back. Where a more experienced wolf wouldn’t have made a retreat he realized too late he’d missed a perfect opportunity to go after the other yearling’s vulnerable belly. Still as soon as he realized Void went after Tyto again, aiming to snap his teeth menacingly at his spine and trying to pin his opponent down with his weight.

Success! Though Kirsi felt minor injuries blossoming from under Twig's teeth, and felt the warmth of blood beginning to trickle through her icy blue coat, her own charge proved to be successful. She managed to duck away from Twig's attempted hold as well, though her teeth grazed her fresh wounds, and she managed to overpower her. A feat that was no doubt partly due to the fact that they were similar sizes - who knew if she'd be able to overpower a wolf as big as say, Song - but she'd managed to overpower Twig, which pleased her.
What now? Briefly her gaze found Song, who looked like he'd lost his own fight. Only for a second did she allow herself to be distracted before she searched for a free opponent. Her gaze found Poem immediately; though she was considerably taller than her, she looked to be younger, and hopefully that meant she was inexperienced. There was only one way to tell though. Kirsi made a beeline for her, giving her little warning other than her approach itself, barreling straight toward her. Unhinged jaws aimed to go for her front right forelimb, trying to tug it out from beneath her before she ducked to the side, spinning on her heels to attempt to avoid her reach.

Poem was young, but she was anything but inexperienced. She’d been learning to fight her whole life. Despite her gentle upbringing the girl had seen more in her short life than many. The young Destruction disengaged from her opponent, finding herself only able to celebrate her victory for a moment before another took their place. Blue and lavender eyes didn’t miss the vibrant she wolf headed her way, and Poem rested her weight on her toes so she might be better prepared for the movement she would need.
Kirsi barrelled towards her and gave Poem the time to dodge. The tall girl leapt out of the way, her ivory tail flying like a banner in the wind as Kirsi whipped past her. Both turned on their heels and they were facing each other again when Poem tried to return the favor. The yearling Destruction aimed to overpower Kirsi with her weight and forced her to the ground with her chest as she aimed to bite Kirsi’s scruff for control.

Tsunami extracted herself from the fight with the other yearling, giving her a curt nod before turning her attention towards her next target. The rest of Winterfell had seemed to fall away around her, she could really only see one wolf she recognized, already engaged with another yearling. Tsunami swept her gaze across what was left of Abaven and spotted a few adults, whom she really wanted to avoid if possible. A young male stuck out her and Tsunami decided then and there she'd make the choice before anyone else did for her. Tsunami squared herself up so she was standing across from the young man, she coiled her haunches then sprung towards him, not even releasing a grunt as she pounded towards him. Tsunami would first try to slam her chest into his chest, her head pulling back, lips peeling from her fangs and ears pulling back as she tipped her chin back and spread her jaws, hoping to grab ahold of the male yearling's lower jaws. Void was a massive yearling, his dire size even now was impressive. Though he was still inexperienced, he’d managed to pull out a victory against his slightly larger opponent. He didn’t gloat as he rose to his full height and turned his attention back to the battlefield, his expression neutral as blue and lavender eyes fell on the girl racing towards him. She was so much smaller than he was, Void held his ground. He bent his joints and balanced himself on his four paws evenly and braced for impact.
He was forced back a half a step as she collided with his chest, she’d harnessed impressive momentum and he let out a grunt as her jaws wrapped around his lower jaw. Void coiled his limbs and aimed to burst forward and knock her down and loose from his mouth as he leapt through her.

Kirsi's own fight experience was lacking, but she wasn't sure that mattered as much as some might assume. The northern lands she had come from were vicious and cruel at times - she'd lived a life harder than most wolves could imagine, even if some of her situation had been arguably her own doing. Her survival had been thanks to nobody but herself, and even now she was eager to prove herself to a pack she truly wished to thrive in. Most of her attention had been spent on Song lately, but she knew she could spare a bit more toward her duties. Hopefully winning her first fight demonstrated her drive to her packmates.
Poem was swift in dodging her initial attack, whipping around as soon as Kirsi did, the two wolves moving in unison. She was easily overpowered by Poem, so she'd have to use her speed and slender frame to her advantage. As soon as Poem dove her and tried to grab her scruff, she managed to pull away at just the last second, feeling the sharp burn of deep scratches cutting through her coat. Her neck was definitely going to be sore after this fight... Trying to think fast, she flinched backward, hoping to dive for the same forelimb she'd went for originally, hoping to duck away if Poem tried to overpower her again, ideally sending her sprawling.

His words earned a gentle chuckle, even as the two fought. Kai had no hard feelings against Rhyme; it wouldn't be a stretch to say he had fonder feelings for Abaven than he did for Winterfell, given the circumstances, and his own selfish nature. Another chuckle was issued as he caught Rhyme's head with his tusk, though a moment later he felt the pressure of paws clawing at his chest. Perhaps his heart just wasn't in the fight... maybe if he had even a sliver of malicious intent toward his opponent, he might be capable of putting up more of a fight... or maybe lounging around in Winterfell was making him soft, but he felt his body begging him to back down, no longer enjoying the firm hold that Rhyme had on him. He'd been enslaved for far too long for his comfort, and the feeling of being constrained again was bringing up feelings he had no desire to confront anytime soon. "Fine, fine, you win, old man," Kai responded, grumbling but still relatively good-natured as he let his head fall, resigned to his defeat.

Poem growled in pain as Kirsi’s teeth wrapped around her front limb. Her attack hadn’t worked out exactly like she wanted but she’d continue to try and use her superior size and weight to her advantage. Despite her earlier injuries, and the gouges in her leg now, Poem pushed forward. Literally she tried to push forward and bowl Kirsi over. She lowered her head, aiming to use it in a sweeping motion against her opponent so she might end the fight and pin Kirsi to the ground. Poem could hear her heartbeat in her ears and saw nothing but Kirsi. She had no idea the events around her. She trusted her comrades to protect her from any outside influence, this was between her and the woman in front of her.
