It's okay if you don't like me; not everyone has good taste
Far from home. That was the female's first thought when she washed up on this wretched island after the calamity. Her beloved, frosted, homeland had been struck with a type of earthquake that shattered the ice burgs and plunged them into the frozen sea, taking a great many of her tribe with them. Including Rae. It was a terrifying fate to be falling with the ice into a bone chilling water, nearly escaping death as she fought the pain to get back to the surface. Panic and adrenaline would be the only excuse as to how she survived, that and utter stubbornness. She clawed her way onto a decent sized hunk of ice and floated into the ocean current where she would stay for... weeks? Months? Time was as lost to her as her sense of direction.
It wasn't until the ice had all but melted that Raelyn caught sight of solid land, though, looking back on it now, had she known just what a complete burning pan this area would be, perhaps she would have stayed on the shrinking ice. It was hot, even if the ocean breeze somehow managed to reach the briar, it was still a baking oven compared to her icy tundras. But the winter dam made the best of her situation, as she always had, and carved out a nice den out of two slabs of rock. The thorns and prickers were an absolute pain, but manageable if a wolf knew where to put their paw. Thankfully the female was of long legs and slim figure, making it somewhat easier for her to navigate the narrow routes through the thicket.
What was the worst of it all was the lack of attention the woman required. It had been so long since she had last seen an intelligent creature, that even the ever so distant song birds were becoming a welcomed sound. It had dawned on the woman that perhaps she had actually died in the frozen sea, and this was some sort of hell devised punishment for her.. provocative ways. It would not surprise her in the slightest, and if she was going to be completely honest about it, Raelyn did not regret her actions at all. Her ideals remained the same, and no amount of time in a heated, isolate, thorn populated hell would get her to change her mind.
It was a rarity for the male to see time outside of the pack lands but he felt like it was time for some fresh air. Daedra was more then capable of wrangling the pups when Belle needed some time. They also had a number of aunts and uncles to give them nips in the right direction. They really would need quite a few nips in their time. But, Hannibal was prepared for the impending reprimanding and groundings that would need to happen. Chi was overly aggressive with his teeth which could be a result of his lack of sight. Incubus was a trouble maker and Siren was the one who got the bad side of all of their pent up aggression. Thoughts were interrupted as a foreign scent filled his nose. The lean male raised his head as pale eyes scanned the region. Feminine and unknown. She held no stench of an opposing pack. Hannibal moved to follow the smell through the briar. He grimaced at the thought of the region. He planned once to obtain these lands to build a pack but with unfortunate events that did not happen. Hannibal shook the thoughts from his mind as the sight of another filled his vision. Hannibal moved through the brambles with ease. He was a tad rusty but he had taught himself how to traverse the briar long ago. The male moved into a clearing, careful to not step on any loose thorns, and raised his head to the fae. "You picked a dreadful path to take." A pause. "These thorns can swallow a Wolf whole." Thinking of what happened to his daughter caused the male to feel a pang of pain. But, he did not show such outwardly. Dominance played at his features but no real emotion was exposed. "No pack stench that I know of clings to your fur... Who are you?" |
Suddenly there was a disturbance in the Briar, something large moving through the thorns and as Raelyn stood poised she could tell the creature was slowly making it's way towards her. Her muscles tensed as she was well aware of other predators lurking in the very same area, but knowing she had an escape trail behind her made her feel braver than perhaps she should. It was good, because once the offended came into the clearing Raelyn nearly leapt with joy, her winter eyes widening in surprise at the sight of another wolf. White and black fur caused the woman to feel some sort of connection with the wolf, as it was almost a mirrored reflection of some of her tribal mates. As a soft breeze carried the scent of the stranger closer to her, a pleasant surprise hidden in it's invisible waves. Male. A sigh of relief came from Rae, as a small smirk would creep onto her lips. "There are far worse things to consume a wolf, no?"
Her voice was soft if not a bit joyful for herself. But it was unavoidable seeing as the loner was encountering her first wolf in these lands, and to finally have someone to talk to? It was a joyful day indeed! What was even better, however, was the fact that there was finally someone around to appreciate and adore her like the queen she was. To not have such companionship was an fate worse than death, but to go so long without water and to finally get a drop... it was an exhilarating feeling. "No, I suppose that would have washed off in the sea." A bit of pain could be felt in her chest after realizing that not even her pack scent had remained... but it was a very small emotion. The thorns in the briar held more of a sting. "I am Raelyn..." she would purr, taking a gentle step towards the male, testing the waters. "I'm new to this land." A very plain statement, but the woman would attempt to take a step more, her eyes searching his gaze for signs of anger before continuing. "Are you searching for something? May I be of service to you.. somehow?"
Hannibal watched the opposing eyes with a curious gaze. Fierce pink and blue eyes seemed to shamelessly take her in but there was no sign of lust in his eyes. The male's heart was consumed by his family and no longer did he feel the need to indulge elsewhere. It would be foolish to assume his eyes would not wander, everyone's did. But, his eyes would be the only wandering that would happen. Deathbelle was the love of his life and Hannibal vowed to be fully hers until the day death took him. She was the only Wolf to tame him and it would remain that way indefidently. One and a half ears flicked at her first words. Hannibal raised a brow, "Thorns are a slow and lonely death. I'd rather be eaten by something with hunger in it's eyes." A predator would be likely to kill him before consuming him. Thorns just cause enough damage to trap one in it's tangles. You would have to bet on either bleeding out or infection taking your life. The stranger made a comment about her scent being washed away in the sea. Hannibal offered a nod before listening to her name and following explanation. Raelyn. The male looked over her features before pinning the name to a face within the depths of his mind. Hannibal had always been good at remembering identities. "A pleasure to meet you, Raelyn. I am Hannibal Iber Klein of Ashen." The male dripped of confidence per usual. There was no lack of pride within his forsaken heart. Hannibal's tail swished as she inquired further. A brow raised as a smirk slipped across pink lips. He could feel the lure of the vixen but he remained stationary, giving nothing away. "I have all I may ever need... and more." Beneath thick lashes his eyes flicked away from her and to the bramble. "You need not offer... services." Perhaps he was implying she was a harlot; How would that go over? "What did you do in your former home?" Hannibal decidedly lowered himself into a seated position with his tail fluffing against his hind legs. |
As the male spoke about his.. satisfatory in his life, Raelyn all but sighed. So despite all his beauty and his brains... he was still trapped like all the others... how disappointing. The snowflake would not miss the way he implied to her habits, making her snicker softly. It was as if a pup was talking about making for the first time. It was adorable. "Shame... but perhaps for the best. I wouldn't want to intrude.." in an already occupied bed. She wanted to add but quickly held her tongue. Best not to jump to conclusions, it was distasteful at best. When asked about her previous duties back home, Raelyn all but smiled at the fond memories. "I was an apprentice of sorts, still learning my trade." Though the details of her trade could be left to hang on her lips, floating in the air between them. She would mimic his motion, taking a seat with her tail laying lazily across her paws.
"I was a high born, well-bred female. My talents laid in my education, but I was not so.. dreadful, though it may sound that way." She would chuckle, shaking her head softly at the memories that danced in her head. Suddenly her eyes would flicker up, peaking out beneath thick lashes and fluttering with every slow blink. "I knew the secrets to having great fun, as I'm sure a male of your stature is aware of." She mused, a flirtatious smile upon her lips. Suddenly curious to this Klein's value, the woman would then turn the conversation back on the male, a curious twinkle in her eye. "What about you, Hannibal? What do you do?"
