Ease a Troubled Mind

Beat had a lot to think about. Learning that Twig was in a relationship with Corvus had left the boy feeling... strange. He had decided to leave Abaven territory for a little while just to clear his mind where he wouldn't have to worry about running into anyone that he knew. The whole situation made him feel... How did it make him feel? Angry? Hurt? It was like someone was moving in on his territory. Twig wasn't his territory though. And he really liked Corvus. He just needed some time to process.
The boy followed his nose. There was a sweet scent on the breeze and it led him to a pretty place that was still full of plant life despite winter having shown its face elsewhere. The angsty feelings of adolescence faded as Beat lost himself in this place of beauty. There were many different colors of flowers. Lots of strange plants. The grass was soft and the sun was making the blades quite warm. Since he was the only one here, the black and white young man threw himself into that grass and began rolling about in it on his back. His formerly emaciated form had filled out and his coat was soft and glossy. Returning to Abaven had done him well.

Aslaug as always wasnt content with staying for long in the same place, and thus without telling no one she traveled east of the place she and her family had been resting in. Enthusiastic legs carried her without hesitation, eyes of blue full of determination to allow her thirst to explore to get the satisfaction it seemed. And there she arrived at a place beyond anything she had ever seen, a place of stunning views, colors, and a nice atmosphere that made her heart itching to explore it at once. Quickly the young wolf started her travel through the fields, taking her time to take a deep breath and ingest the fragrances of the place. A faint smile formed in her lips as she walked within, taking note of the mountains in the distance, the sun gave the place bright with vibrant colors. But then a new scant was taken in her nose. A wolf was in the area. Calmly she stopped so she could try locating the scent and maybe spot the stranger. And at the distance a figure took her attention, it wasnt too far so she could see it was a wolf. In silence, she observed them, with no desire to being noticed just yet. "" |

The sweet smelling grass and flowers seemed to soak into the boys pelt. He liked it. Even when he hadn't cared about anything, he had found enjoyment in the scents of plants. Many nights he'd slept in fields of soft grass just like this. Stopping his rolling, Beat sprawled upon his back, long obsidian tail swishing lightly in the grass. He had been such a different creature then. So angry. So lifeless. He used to be a ghost, just like his family.
The clouds above sent little rays of sunlight down periodically. These rays made the little dust motes dance and glitter. This place really was pretty, he mused. As he stared upwards, the breeze shifted, swirling around him. The swirling wind brought the scent of another with him. All he had wanted was to be alone... With a sigh, the boy rolled onto his stomach, but he sprawled in the grass with back legs stretched out behind him.

The silent yearling remained with her eyes placed on the stranger, curious to see what they would do. Curious was her nature, nature that pushed her to inquire in anything she felt attracted to. And sometimes she did with strangers since she was a pup she had this habit of observing strangers, not necessarily with ill intentions, just mere curiosity. And thus she just watched without saying anything as she didn't feel like it would be necessary for the time being, She was aware that strangers could turn dangerous, but she wasnt messing with them so she didn't fear, and not like she couldn't defend herself. She may wasnt the best but she would still make sure to make others refrain from messing with her at all. "You can come out, whoever you are." 'Ops, they caught me.' She said sighing silently and slowly she poked her head so he could see her. "I apologize," She said calmly. "Didn't mean to stare." Her expression didn't reflect any emotion. "You see, i am new to this lands and you are the first one i meet after coming here with my Family," She explained. "" |

The wolf to come out of hiding was a young woman. A girl, really. White ears swiveled forward and two-toned lavender and blue eyes locked upon her. She was... pretty. Blonde and brown. Friendly looking. She looked to be around the same age as the black and white boy. Rising from his place Beat moved towards the girl and extended his neck, experimentally sniffing noses with her in greeting. She explained that she was new to the lands and she hadn't mean to stare. The boy grinned and shook his head.

The male seemed around her own age, but a lot bigger. White and black painted his coat and bi-colored eyes were placed on his head which was now locked into hers. He approached, and Aslaug just stood there in silence observing what he would do. A greeting of noses was the thing he did, and she just returned the gesture as her gaze remained calm along with her posture. "Oh, don't worry about it. New to the lands, eh? Where are you from?" "I was born out of here, in a band of travelers, and you? Are you from around here?" She asked in return, she was curious about the boy before him, just as anything from these new lands she now would call home. "What's your name, by the way? I'm Beat Destruction. My pack, Abaven, is in the East." "A pleasure to meet you Beat, my name is Aslaug Kvasir, and me and my family have plans with joining a pack west from here. Valhalla i think." She sat down so she could have a comfortable position to talk. "" |

The girl gave her name and Beat said it aloud, feeling it on his tongue.

She couldn't recall when was the last time she ever interacted with others of her age beside her sister. And bew faces always brought a spark of interest on her, and now that was what was happening. Beat had become her first chance to start building ties to this new land. She was excited but at the same time nervous as she didn't know what to expect but well, all was a matter of just trying and then see. She smiled at the male, as he said her name. "Beat," She said to repeat his actions, just to play. "So what do you like to do, Aslaug?" "Hmm. I like to explore, learn and hunt! What about you?" She asked happily but not too much, she always was moderate in her things. And then, Beat made a gesture that made her do just the same. Her own frontal half dropped to the ground, with legs spread and tail wagging behind her. "Want to hunt some lunch? I didn't bring anything with me and I'm starting to get hungry." "Sounds like a good plan! Anything in mind?" She asked smiling, but the wait was little as he answered. "Then let's get them! I'll follow you." She said smiling and ready. This was the first hunt she did with someone out of her family so it was exciting for her. "" |

The girl asked about his own hobbies after telling him her own. Beat tilted his head, thinking about it for a moment.
When Aslaug agreed to go hunting with him, Beat flashed his handsome smile and motioned for her to follow him. Dark nose wiggling, he tested the air, searching for the pigs. The scent was stronger to the right, so he began padding in that direction. It didn't take the pair long to find a passel of pigs rooting around in the dirt for grubs and roots. Leaning close to his new friend, Beat whispered.

"Other than hunting, I'm not too sure. I've been..." She looked at him curiously with his answer. "I haven't been myself for a long time. I don't know what I like to do yet." "I see, so you haven't found yourself?" She asked trying to be understanding, herself had a lot to learn from herself as well. But soon she noted as he sniffed the air, and move to the right. Silently she followed his steps, hoping to be stealthy with her moves. And there she saw a group of pigs, she smirked waiting for indications. "The one in the middle looks good. The one with its back to us." She looked at it and nodded in silence. She crouched, wanting to hide. "You take the left side and I'll take the right side." She nodded again as she positioned herself as indicated, placing herself to it's left attempting to crawl closer and in complete silence, and there she just waited for the signal to charge. "" |

Aslaug went along with his direction and Beat found that he rather liked that. He liked that she had simply taken his word for it and was willing to go along with his plan. It made him feel important. Made him feel grown up. A little tumble of butterflies danced in his stomach as the emotion ran through him. Was it pride? It was definitely something.
Beat watched as the pigs worked their way through the ferns and roots. His muscles bunched as he waited for the opportune time to pounce. The rest of the pigs seemed to veer off to the sides, creating a clean line of attack for the young pair. With a nod to his companion, Beat burst through the cover of the ferns and made a beeline for their prey. The rest of the pigs squealed and ran. Their own began to run as well, but had to turn its side to them to go around the big tree. It gave them time to get closer. Beat snapped at its haunches, teeth grazing the back end and leaving bloody furrows.
