Deathbelle yawned and stretched over the plush furs that made up her royal bed. Her movements caused the sleeping forms beside her to stir slightly, but there was only one that she wished to wake up. Inc and Chi both had dark energy that was difficult to eek out of them every day. Keeping them occupied in her helped keep them off of Siren. The tiny girl worried her the most. She reminded her slightly of Samara, but so much more timid. Rara didn’t let anything stop her ever, Siren could barely make it past the palace entrance.

She tried not to harbor animosity towards the tiny child, she was young and innocent. Deathbelle was mostly upset with herself. Inc and Chi were perfect puppies, how did Siren happen? The Empress shook her head and focused on the puppies at her side. Very carefully she nudged at Chimera’s cheek. ”Wake up Chi. We’re going on a patrol.” She encouraged him as she brought herself ot her paws.

Chimera had been dreaming. He had been sinking his teeth into pale, white flesh. It was glorious. Blood had been welling into his mouth when his mother came up and shook him. The boy, still in the throes of ecstasy growled when he was jostled. Dark lips peeled back from white puppy teeth as he fought to immerse himself in his dream once more, but it was lost. Both eyes opened, but only one saw the form of his mother. There were other forms, but she was the brightest in his vision. Deathbelle roused him to go patrolling and the child narrowed his gaze slightly in annoyance, but he rose and shook out his two toned coat before moving forward. Why couldn't she just leave him alone? Most puppies developed an instant attachment to their caregivers. Chimera didn't. He knew that he needed his mother until he could fend for himself, but there were no feelings there. There were no feelings for any of them. Siren elicited more feeling than the others, but he could do without her too. "Speech"

Deathbelle smiled softly as Chimera was disturbed, and she couldn’t deny how cute his annoyed features were as he blinked up at her. He was aloof to say the least, but Belle still adored and loved him. She had little idea that the feelings could not and would not be reciprocated. The Empress knew not how much heartache this long awaited litter would cause her. Despite his obvious discontent Chimera didn’t offer up any protest and Deathbelle smiled as she led him outside.

Hannibal would wake the other two though he’d probably only take Inc out on his own patrol. Siren wouldn’t want to walk the whole of the border so she would be watched over by Daedra. The woman was mostly quiet as she led her young son out into the darkness, her main goal was to wear him out. The puppies might have had endless energy but they had to recharge every now and then. ”Have you thought about what you want to be when you grow up, Chimera?” She asked curiously as she brought him to the path that circled the palace’s island.

Shaking out his coat, he followed his mother out of the den. This seemed strange. Sure, she wanted to show him things, but he also felt as though there was some ulterior motive. He wouldn't ask about it though. His parents weren't as easily manipulated as his siblings. There was no real point in speaking to them unless they spoke to him first, which his mother decided to do. What did he want to be when he grew up? Already the boy was have prophetic dreams regarding his future. It seemed as though a sleep couldn't go by where he didn't see flashes of a mountain of blood and bones with himself perched atop it. Giving such an answer would serve no purpose and so the boy decided to not invite conversation about it. Instead, his gruff little voice sounded. "What do you want me to be?" Now she would be the one talking and he could continue in silence. "Speech"

Chimera was a bit reluctant in his movements, but he didn’t give her any verbal protests so Deathbelle continued moving as the young boy followed beside her. He was a quiet child, but that was no huge surprise. The pair of them walked and Belle asked her open ended question but in return she was given a question in return. The Empress perked her brow at the boy, ”You’re supposed to answer my question before you ask another one, Chimera.” She told him softly, instructing him in the ways of polite conversation.

She would take her own advice though, somewhat curious how her own words might influence the answer she sought from him. ”I want you to be an important part of the Empire.” She explained easily enough. ”I want to see you as a strong ally for your sister when she eventually takes the throne.” She wasn’t specific on what exactly that meant. She wanted him to decide where his position would be. Be it in a warriors role, hunter, or even a future shamyn.

Answering a question with a question earned him a scolding, which went in one ear and out the other. He couldn't care. There wasn't much caring for anything in the boys head. Not until he was riled up, which was rare. Even at this early age, Chimera was cool and calculating. His mother answered anyway. She wanted him to be a support system for his sister? Which sister? Certainly not Siren. His tiny, pale sibling was too weak to lead anything. Chi didn't know much about the goings on in the pack because, honestly, he didn't care. The only reason that he was still here was because he was too small to defend himself. He would take what he could from his time growing up here, but he most likely wouldn't make connections. Not lasting ones, anyway. To his mother's wishes for him, the boy simply said, "Oh." Stellar conversationalist, Chimera. "Speech"

Despite her instruction the boy remained silent, but she wouldn’t allow herself to be frustrated with the young boy. He had a lot of learning to do, and hopefully this little walk might give him some direction. Siren was tiny and she didn’t have many plans for her, Incubus was quiet and somewhat a loner. She still wasn’t sure where he might go in life. Chimera was her problem child, he didn’t much like to listen. She wondered absently to herself where he would end up. She wanted him to be an asset to his sister, with little effort she could easily see him as a formidable part of the empire, but if that wasn’t what he wanted she was sure there would be little to incentivise him.

He didn’t say much and Deathbelle raised a brow as they continued onward. He didn’t quite seem on board with her plans. ”Well, what do you want to do, Chimera?” She asked again, pressing harder this time. She wanted him to grow up to do what he wanted to do. If she didn’t know what that was she couldn’t begin to help him attain it.

It looked like she just wasn't going to leave this alone. Persistent, his mother. There wasn't much that he could tell her. He didn't have any set plan for himself and he liked it like that. The less ties to hold him down, the less plans that could be thwarted and bring disappointment, the better. Chimera wrinkled his nose slightly. There wasn't much that he could tell her, but he had to tell her something. "When I grow up... I want to do whatever I want." And that was the truth of it. Movement behind his mother brought the child's working eye to squinting and his white eye opening wider. There was a wolf there. A black wolf. White teeth flashed for a moment and Chimera had the idea that this wolf knew exactly what the boy would grow up to be. Ears tucked back against his skull momentarily but he fought to ignore the silent one, wondering what his mother would try to get out of him next. "Speech"

Chimera was very young, Deathbelle didn’t expect him to have any concrete ideas. However, she did expect something along the lines that his siblings would tell her. A warrior, a healer, a priest.. but as Chi contemplated his answer what he said was not at all what his mother predicted. Still, he did give her an answer even if she had to press him rather hard.

She hummed slightly as she led him on, perking a brow at his sudden sheepishness. Deathbelle looked over her shoulder, but nothing could be seen. Lilac gaze returned to her son. ”Hmm… Maybe you can be a Scout.” Deathbelle mentioned softly. ”You’ll be able to roam all over Boreas for the Empire.” She suggested lightly, hoping to encourage a conversation with her young boy.

His mother didn't seem to particularly like that answer, but she had asked and he'd spoken the truth. Chimera had his own agenda and it didn't revolve around other members of the pack. When he dreamed, he saw himself sleeping at the top of a mountain of bodies. Some alive, some dead, all belonged to him. He didn't think that the Klein family tied into that in any way.

A scout? The boy arched the brow above his working eye. Travel all over, he would. Whether or not he would travel for the sake of the empire was yet to be seen. Perhaps he would scout, but he'd keep the information for himself and use it to his own benefit. The silent one seemed to read his thoughts for the dark man bristled and flashed teeth. Again Chimera tucked his ears against his skull, eyes going wide for a moment. He had learned that the silent ones couldn't harm him, but it was still unnerving.

Wait... had his mother been expecting him to talk some more?
