Dunkan was ready to begin with his task of collecting pelts. A task he had never done before but he was ready to do it still,he wanted to do his duties in the best way he could. And the way he saw to gather enough pelts was to hunt or kill any big animals he could. Maybe some large ones could be best in their case. Cougars, wolverines and any small predators could be great. And thus he started to track any promising creature. He planted his nose down as he sniffed.

And it didn't take long before he found scents of coyote. Great that was a good start and there as he walked through the plains a pack of coyotes was seen at the distance. Five of them. All of those pelts could work and quickly he stalked them wanting to pick a target.

Azure didn't have the greatest reputation in the Armada, he'd been rude to many of his packmates and received too many reprimands from his father to ignore. He'd decided that he'd do his best to get along a bit better with the other wolves, that even if he didn't happen to like them that he should at least fake politeness. The path to Warlord was a difficult one, and although he had quite the ego Azure would never risk his position of heir for pride. "Duncan!" He greeted as he trotted up to the yearling. While Az was only six months old he nearly matched the other boy's height. One day he'd be as big as his father, that much Az was sure. "What're you doing? Do you need some help?" He hated having to pretend, but perhaps if he assisted then words of his good deeds might spread and his father might give him a chance to remove one of his strikes. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Eyes of blue remained stuck in his surroundings as the coyotes seemingly didn't know he was there. That was fine,he could use the factor of surprise, and there he started to stalk one of the coyotes who was lying clumsily. These coyotes were invading his home,and what he was going to do was to make them pay with blood.But then someone spoke and as he looked their way he saw Azure, the warlord's son. "Azure," He said calmly and in a low voice. "What're you doing? Do you need some help?" "There is a pack of coyotes, and I was going to make them leave in a way or another. Want to kick some Coyotes with me?" He asked with a faint smirk. "We need to kill them to gather their pelts for the dens." He explained calmly. Then one of the coyotes without warning ran forward Duncan, and in response the male launched himself with jaws wide open and quickly he aimed for the smaller canine's throat, going for the kill. "Speak"

Azure didn't need to be asked twice, even if the coyote's were taking their snooze off Armada lands he'd always be down to spill some blood. "Yes, lets." He nodded his response to the other boy, crouching alongside Duncan as he stalked closer towards the pack. He waited for Duncan to make the first move, jumping out after him to choose a separate target. At the wolves entrance the coyote's seemed stunned and ready to flee, though Azure caught his by the tail and yanked it to the ground before it could complete it's escape. Having spooked the predators they had the upper hand, and Azure was easily able to knock off balance and deliver the death blow to the coyote in one breath. Three more were left standing - if you didn't count the one Duncan was handling himself - and they seemed less keen to flee. They'd seen the battle begin, been able to position themselves and prepare and were not planning on being caught unawares. The boy shot towards the one furthest away from it's pack mates, rearing his upper body to slap at the coyote with his bear-paws. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Dunkan kept with his carnage as the first coyote perished between his jaws,and far from done with cold clue eyes he looked around to see who he should go for next. He spotted his companion going for one himself, nodding he focused on his own affairs.With blood painting his jaws he went forward to another coyote who upon seeing him started to run but then two coyotes went up to get him.Calmly he would charge and attempt to grab one by the throat and bite hard enough to kill it,and as he did the other went for his legs and a bite was given but not like that would persuade the young warrior. Quickly he dropped te lifeless body of the other and would smack himself into the coyote for then grabbing them by the scruff and move his head in a way to cause a lot of damage "Speak"

Where Azure lacked age and experience he made up for in size, already he'd been on a few large animal hunts and so the coyote's were an easier target in comparison. His paws came down hard and fast upon it's cheek, slamming it into the ground and bringing a pained yelp from the coyote. He raked his claws down the side of it's face and neck, tearing through the skin easily and spurting blood out onto his chest. Azure disliked these battles with more than one opponent, he liked to savor the kill and that was not a smart move when his victim's ally's could jump in at any moment. He moved quickly while the coyote bled out, sinking his elongated fangs into it's soft throat to finish it off. Duncan had killed a second and was working on his third, so Azure moved to intercept the fourth before it could gang up on his companion. He grabbed it by the lower rear leg, crushing his jaws down upon the bone and feeling it crunch beneath his teeth. It howled in pain and the sound only fueled the boy further, he yanked hard on the injured limb pulling the coyote off balance and closer to him. Before it could recover, he released the limb and lifted his upper body to sink his claws into the coyote's back along it's spine. For a moment he hesitated, realizing that the pelt may be damaged beyond compare if he continued his assault there. The hesitation cost him and the coyote wheeled around, biting down on Azure's shoulder. The heir snarled, angling his head to grab for the back of the coyote's neck and bit down hard until it was dead. He puffed a breath of exasperation, turning to watch Duncan with his last opponent. He'd not offer true help to the boy - after all, Duncan was older than he was an was a warrior in training. He could handle it, Azure was sure. He sat, lifting a paw to hold upon his shoulder wound while he waited. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

The next coyote was also killed as he sank his teeth into its fresh but making sure the pelt wouldn't be too damaged as that was the main reason they were killing them in the first place. Jaws full of blood winkled to reveal teeth as the canine died.With that done he licked his lips to clean them up from the crimson liquid.Looking back at his partner who was also done.He then went up to start removing the coyote's fur. But before that, he would say. "Okay,now he just skin them and get them back and that's it." He explained as he did so with the coyotes he took down, making sure to don't do a lot of damage to the fur. After he was done he then folded the furs in a way so he could carry them easily. "Speak"

As Duncan finished off his coyote Azure was preparing to leave, and then the other boy continued insisting they be skinned and the prince sighed. Killing coyotes, fine. Grunt work? He hated the very idea. Except Az was trying to do better, to be better even if he was only pretending. So biting his lip with his retort he moved over towards the pile of corpses and roughly yanked one infront of him. His claws were long and sharp and not made well for precision though they did the job. Thankfully he'd had instruction on how to skin them properly, as generally he had his cat-clawed siblings do the work for him. He cut smoothly into the hide, focusing as he worked his claws down and along the areas taught to him. When they were detatched he was able to make a quick last slice and slide the skin off the body. Throwing it over his shoulder onto his back, he moved to the next and then the next after. Once they'd all been skinned and stacked ontop his back he grabbed hold of a skinned corpse's leg to drag home for the kill pile. He motioned with his head to have Duncan join him on the walk to the communal area. Putting them down into the storage would be easy, and someone else could deal with the tanning process if that's what they chose to have done. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Dunkan nodded as he finished folding all the pelts and as Azure did he grabbed them and in a quick way he would move on and place them on the stocks,so others could get them.This part of the thing wasnt part of his duties,or that was what he thought.Calmly he did and in a lazy way he yawned a bit,soon it would be night.Well all was done as told so he guessed his services wouldn't be needed for now at least.He looked back at the younger wolf. "Job done,thank you for your assistance.What would you like to do now?" He asked, maybe they could do a few more things before night.
