When she heard that Duncan had been waiting for the chance to earn his position as a warrior it made her excited and nervous at the same time. Any time she knew she was going into a fight of any kind she felt that way, but this in particular felt more important. It was the first time she was doing a task related to her new position as General besides just helping with patrols. She hoped that the other students would be ready to test their skills soon as well, but for now she was happy to have Duncan be the first of the students she helped. Perhaps she would try putting together a training for everyone else soon as well.

She got to the area near the Sea's Plain where they had set up their training areas and picked one out for them to use. She made sure the sand there was smoothed out nicely and took a moment to adjust the bracers attached to her forelegs before lifting her head to call for her opponent. Tamsyn let the howl ring out for a few moments until she was certain that the young man she was looking for would have heard her as long as he was within the Armada's territory. She settled onto her haunches to wait for him, smiling softly as she eagerly waited for him to arrive.

Dunkan didn't expect the call when he heard it,it wasnt from Sirus.What was happening? But either way he wanted to attend,in case anything important was going to be told to him.But there his eyes widened.Was this the day? What if a warrior was calling him? For fighting them? That thought made the young wolf dart himself out,if that was the case he didn't want to make whoever would test him wait for long. Dunkan found himself before a dark female.Oh yes The General itself. He bowed his head to the female,wanting to show the respect she deserved."General,did you need me?" He asked looking at her with serious face. "Speak"

Tamsyn was pleased to see that Dunkan arrived quickly and the way he greeted her respectfully made her smile. It was the kind of response that she was slowly getting used to even though she had spent most of her life barely being noticed - much less respected. Of course she didn't want this type of respect purely from a title. She wanted to earn it and she hoped that she had at least begun to make progress toward that. Her own self doubts kept her from fully seeing the progress she had made since she joined the Armada.

She gave the Student a small nod and a slight grin. Knowing a spar was just moments away renewed her excitement and it made her tail wag gently behind her. Fighting was something that she had never really considered a skill she would be good at, but with the right training she had become more and more confident in it. "Yes, thank you for coming, Dunkan. I heard that you've been waiting to fight a warrior so you can join the ranks as well. I'd like to fight with you myself if you're up for it!" She moved to one side of the sparring area she had chosen and squared off with her younger opponent. Her limbs fell into that now familiar, readied stance that almost felt more comfortable to her at this point than just standing still. The sand under paw shifted slightly under her weight, but she thought that it added a nice extra challenge to the fights she held here. "I haven't gotten to see you fight yet, so just show me what you've learned!" She left the floor open for him to begin, always curious to see how others approach the first move in a fight.

"Speech" Thought

The trainee waited for the General's intentions,to know why she had called for him in this fine day.The thrill consumed his insides like a wildfire,but managing to stay collected. "Yes, thank you for coming, Dunkan. I heard that you've been waiting to fight a warrior so you can join the ranks as well. I'd like to fight with you myself if you're up for it!" "I am up for it," He answered without doubt on his words. "I haven't gotten to see you fight yet, so just show me what you've learned!" Quickly he widened his stance, nails digging into the soil. Ears pinned and eyes narrowed, hackles rose and as he lowered his neck to protect his vital parts. And there without warning, he leaped himself forward head-on. Quickly he would run forming an S with the idea of confusing her with where he was going for.And simultaneously as he attempted to get hopefully to 4 feet away from her he would turn his body, perpendicular to her left haunches and quickly he would attempt to wrap his legs around her shoulders and cast a firm bite onto her scruff. Tamsyn appreciated that Dunkan tried to use a bit of surprise to gain the upper hand by launching his attack without much warning. Had she not already been waiting for him to make his first move this could have been incredibly effective. As it was, her eyes followed him as he darted side to side while she tried to guess which direction he would actually attempt to connect with her form from. The deceptive movements took away a bit of her reaction time and successfully made it so that she couldn't fully avoid his attack. She was quite calculating with how she approached fights and how she reacted to them, which did mean that sometimes it took her a heartbeat too long to process what she should do.

She used her lighter weight and smaller frame to her advantage and used the sandy terrain under paw to more quickly and easily turn as he attempted to move to face her side, keeping herself facing him head on rather than let him get that perpendicular angle he seemed to be going for. She leaned back into her more sturdy hind legs to keep herself from toppling under his weight as his forelegs came down around her shoulders. Luckily, with the change in angle, she was able to throw her head back and block his jaws from getting a hold on her scruff - instead aiming to hit the top part of her skull firmly into his cheek or lower jaw to hopefully stun him a bit and keep him from trying to grab her scruff again. She also lifted one of her forepaws and aimed to press it into the upper part of his chest, right below where his throat began, so that she could possibly give him a firm shove to knock him back off of her again. The General let her nails dig into his skin as well if she was able to get her paw to his chest successfully just to add a bit more discomfort and emphasis to that shove.

Dunkan remained with his mind calm, avoiding any unnecessary thoughts that could intrude in his performance in the fight.He needed to work well enough if he wanted the rank he soo ferociously wanted. He trained all these seasons for this,and he couldn't make it go messed up. She moved to stop him from staying above her with his paws. And as he tried to dig his fangs onto the female's scruff she switched her position making him avoid the contact with her scruff and a hit from her skull did hit him on his lower jaw,the pain soon erupted from the contact, feeling it a bit sore.But far from giving up he would step back a few feet hopping to avoid her paw to hit his chest. Simultaneously he turned around his body to the left aiming to form a T shape with her at the top. Quickly he attempted to wipe his right front leg into her back legs hoping to knock her off balance. Tamsyn felt her skull connect with the younger man's jaw, a bit of pain hitting her from the successful attack that she was sure would develop into a bit of a headache once this was all said and done. Either way, she was always pleased when one of her attacks landed successfully. He backed away so her paw missed its target entirely and ended up back on the ground in front of her. That was fine, she had wanted to put a bit of space between them and she had been successful one way or another. In the moments that it had taken her to reset her stance he had managed to get around to her side. She immediately curled her form to get her head around to his, but before her body could follow suit his paw went for her hind legs in an attempt to sweep them out from under her.

Since she was in the process of turning to face him again, the hind leg farthest from him escaped this sweeping motion, but his paw did manage to catch one and make her stumble. She staggered back a couple of steps and made sure to square herself with him again so that he was fully within view again. She was impressed by his focus and how quickly he had recovered, but she didn't have time to think about that right this moment. That was all things she could go over with him once this was all said and done.

The General didn't waste any time in launching her next attack. She wanted to really push him and see what he could do. This was all a test, but she still wanted him to do well. Tamsyn coiled muscles and leapt toward him to close the small gap that stood between them, angling the motion so she would hopefully be slightly to his right. In the same motion she tipped her muzzle up toward his neck, reaching with open jaws toward his throat - namely toward the upper part of his neck where his throat and jaw met. She wouldn't bite down very firmly if she was successful, she just wanted to see how he would respond to a direct attack on a place that if she was intending on doing real harm could be deadly. Not all fights would be practice spars and she wanted to make sure he knew that.

With his lower jaw still aching from the hit from Tamsyn's skull,he focused on having her fall with his swipe.But instead of what he was intending she just stumbled for a bit. Well he was pleased that his attack wasnt a failure at all.But soon she leaped toward him with jaws widely open going after his throat,a place he knew he had to protect at all costs in battle. Quickly as she attempt to go for it,he would attempt to switch his body to the left trying to have his left shoulder be the one having the bite instead of his throat.If he was successful he would simultaneously try to get over her with legs spread around her shoulders,tying to cast a bite on her scruff again. She was pleased when he quickly turned his throat away from her grasp and instead put his shoulder into the line of fire. It was a good way to defeat the attack so she was happy with his response. If she actually meant him harm perhaps she would have continued to pursue something more damaging, but since that wasn't the case she let her teeth find purchase near his shoulder, her teeth only lightly breaking the skin. In the same motion as his deflection he lifted his forelegs to try and wrap them around her shoulders, but she very quickly lifted one of her own legs to catch his right leg before it could find purchase there and instead shoved him back to the ground. Of course from this angle there was very little she could do about him grabbing her scruff so she let that attack land, feeling his teeth latch on to the loose skin there. Since she couldn't exactly pull away with him holding her scruff, she decided to put more pressure on the bite that she had on the upper part of his shoulder at the same time as her right paw reached out to try and pull his left paw out from under him.
