Indigo was so excited that the spring made its return. He’d never known a spring before but as all the plants began to go green and the flowers began to bloom he wasn’t sure that he’d ever been happier before. He collected young little plants like made and it wasn’t long before he’d collected quite a few more plants than last year. Indy was a bit older now, he was more responsible, he could handle a bigger garden.
He had a little collection of different mint plants now, his auntie was diligent in her teaching and he was excited to have more potted plants this year. The boy stepped back for a moment to admire his hard work. His violet tail wagged slowly at his hips as peace lingered around the garden. He’d need to start planning trees next, that part excited him the most.
Indigo was lost in the future as his silence was shattered, coming raging through the grasses was a troop of baboons. There were only a half a dozen but Indy was afraid of what they could do to his garden. ”Ah!” He burst out as he growled and tried to stop them from coming through, but he wasn’t much use against their quick movements. Before he knew it they’d grabbed his mint and were headed in the opposite direction.

The Warlord caught the scent of baboons at the border, and frowned at the intensity of the smell. It wasn’t uncommon for prey-creatures to enter the Armada if they were stpid enough to do so. He was only concerned with scaring off predators. If the occasional monkey was daft enough to walk past him, it would make a decent snack.
It was the volume that surprised him, it was like a small troop had decided to throw a party in his lands. He would investigate by following the scent trail, which led him towards Indigo’s garden.
Watching his brightly coloured boy fend monkeys from his garden spurred the Warlord to battle. With a warcry on his lips, he charged forward at the offending creatures. Too late, the monkeys had grabbed a green-leafed plant and were making off with the goods. Much to Indigo’s horror.

Indigo felt like all was lost for a long moment, his huge paws would take him after the little thieves but it seemed like his mint was lost to him. As he raced forward he heard the sound of his father’s booming voice behind him. He didn’t look but he grinned as backup arrived. The young boy continued forward after the looting baboons with his father at his side.
”Get back here!” He called out passionately. One, it was an insult to him that he would be robbed like this and two he wouldn’t stand for his plants being assaulted. Excitement instead of dread raced through him as he and his father caught up to the troop. The baboons weren’t stupid though and they teased the giant wolves as the weaved in and out of the grasses. Indy growled in frustration as he chased after one, only to be tricked into chasing another as it appeared from the grasses in front of him.

The Warlord and his son raced through the grasses after the monkeys, only for them to start a game out of sight in the long grasses. Playing feints, and tricking them until it was hard to know which offending monkey held the plant.
The Warlords earlier howl however, had brought backup. Marshal appeared in the sky above them, and he knew Bast wouldn’t be far behind. For now, the birds-eye-view would be a bonus. The next time he was tricked into chasing the wrong monkey, Marshal let out a piercing cry, and led him in the right direction. With Indigo at his side, he urged the boy on, and indicated for him to make a wide berth towards the offender. Perhaps they would have a chance at cutting it off.

The boy kept going, he didn’t know what else to do. He was getting tired though, it was apparent as he lunged and bit without direction. He wasn’t alone though, Sirius wasn’t able to keep track of the perpetrator either. Again his emotions went on a roller coaster, he was losing faith they’d be able to return his plant, until he heard the huge vulture call out from the sky. Short round wasn’t much help here, she wasn’t very fast and besides was probably napping.
Indy looked up to the massive bird and then back to his massive father as the later gestured his idea and Indigo nodded slightly and went to work. He arced around, trusting Marshal and Sirius to catch the thief and return his poor mint plants before it got hurt.

With Marshal to keep an eye on the mischief of the monkeys, it was easier to follow the one they desired. The next time a monkey cut in front of him, he didn’t make the mistake of pursuing. Instead, he followed Marshal, who tracked the plant-bearing creature through the grasses.
He felt Indigo branch off from his side as he was directed, and begin to head in an arching direction towards the monkey. Sirius made enough noise thrashing through the grass to disguise his son's approach.
Sirius gave all appearances of a freight train, with no intention of branching off, and the monkey believed it. The monkey turned to escape the Warlord that was quickly catching up, and would turn right into the path of Indigo.

The baboons were smart, but they were a one trick pony. Once the wolves realized their game, and over came it, the pair of them would easily overcome. Sirius was loud and unmoving, Indigo was a bit slimmer (for now) and his big paws were slightly quieter as he got himself in position. Sirius did what Sirius always did and teh baboon veered right into Indigo. The boy leapt forward, taking his chance.
Unlike his siblings, Indigo was anything but bloodthirsty and where one of them would have gone for the primate’s throat, Indy was devoted to the well being of his plant. With his shoulder he shoved into the baboon and with his arms gently caght the pot in mid air and landed with a light thud with it on the ground.

The Warlord came to a sudden and violent stop, skidding in his tracks before he could collide into Indigo. Hs boy had caught the potted plant carefully in his paws, after knocking aside the baboon.
The creature was still scrambling to his feet, and the Warlord leaned over, and gently placed his teeth on either side of its head. He did not clamp, in respect for Indigo who would not have liked the scene. Instead, he made his warning, and released the creature. “Leave” he ordered.
Once the baboon had fled, he helped Indigo push the plant onto his back, and Marshal landed there to balance it between his talons. With the prize carefully cradled there, the two of them would return to his garden. There, they would find his bear, arms crossed along her chest as she stood guard on two legs over the rest of the garden.
