Evening fell gently in a soft hush. The sun was slowly working its way toward the horizon and Wyndelin ran into a problem. He was hungry. In the distance he could hear the bellows of elk, calling out to their calves and his stomach growled in response. A full grown adult was out of the question but would he be able to snag a calf? Along it would be difficult. He didn't even have Flikkr with him at that moment to help distract and startle the cows. Instinct drove Wyndelin forward. He slunk low through the grasses, pausing when the small herd was in view. There were a number of young calves. Any of them would make a fine meal though he noticed one in particular was a bit weak and sluggish. "Talk" "You" Think |

Aslaug was at a trip up to a new place, the sun's last rays hitting her back as eyes of blue stared around with the intention of finding food. Why? Well she wanted to train in her own,to see if she could cath something on her own, yes that was dumb but as the inexperienced hunter, there was still a lot learn and understand. With only one year old she had a lot to walk in the road of life and learning of this art she wanted to be a master in. As she walked she found herself before a herd of Elk, large animals with calves. Tempting but there she recalled she didnt have any clue how to start hunting like this. But for what seemed as a sign of heaven a male was on the move to go for it. Would he allow her to help? She was doubting if they would, but she wanted to learn form others. And slowly she approached crouching but taking a safe distance from the male, stopping at his right in a parallel way. She didnt say anything, she waited for him to take the lead. "Speech" |

Wyndelin's ears flicked back at the sound of approaching paw steps. He turned to see a yearling girl approaching in a crouch, looking to the elk. Wynd took the message, she was hunting too! Oh, good! They'd be much more likely to catch something if they worked together and Wyndelin was mostly just interested in enough meat to fill his stomach for the journey ahead. He certainly couldn't eat an entire elk calf by himself so splitting the kill would work well. Wyndelin gestured toward the injured calf, looking back at the woman to see if she understood. They'd need to get the herd running so the weakest animal, the weary calf, would fall behind and be easy pickings. He tensed, his legs coiling beneath him as he sprang forward toward the elk. They burst into motion, running across the field. "Talk" "You" Think |

She didnt move a muscle as she waited for indications, she gave a quick glnace at the herd to see what was on the menu. She glanced back at the male and there she saw he stared and an injured calf. 'Perfect' that seemed like a good idea but she didnt move just test, she wanted to wait for the male to give the signal to begin. But there before she could think further the male rose and launched himself toward the herd, making the beasts run away.Quickly she followed by running as fast as he could keep her position on his left but with a safe distance. She did her best to make them run and maybe make the calf get back. "Speech" |

The heard continued to stampede, scattering over the land as they ran. The mothers and calves started to fall behind until only the weak calf and its mother remained. Wyndelin charged for the mother. His fangs snapped and tore at her hind legs. She responded by trying to kick him but his goal was simply to keep her distracted long enough for Aslaug to kill the calf. Once the calf was gone the mother elk would likely give up the fight and follow after the heard. She kicked sharply but Wyndelin was built for speed and he quickly ducked out of the way, the hoof just missing his shoulder as he snapped at her side. "Talk" "You" Think |

The herd kept running as panic spread through the herd like a wildfire. This was fun and a rich way to learn the skills to become a good hunter, something she really wanted to be. Calmly she followed the stranger's path and as they kept pushing and pushing, the mothers and calves started to get back from the herd, and their target soon di as well. The male did his best to keep the mother occupied with him,and Asla took the chance to approach the calf and without hesitation, she clamped her jaws around the neck and shaking her head with a ferocious force she saw as the calf started to weaken and fall on its side. Wasting no time she tried to open a wound on its neck to make it lose it, and as she did the calf soon stopped moving. It was dead. "Speech" |

Wyndelin danced with the mother elk, doing his best to make sure he didn't get stepped on. It almost became a sinister game of tag as he lead her further and further away from her calf. Eventually he heard the strangled cry of the elk calf. Wynd quickly put distance between himself and the mother elk as he risked a look over to Aslaug. He saw that the calf was dead and he raced over to join the other hunter. The mother elk stood there for a moment then turned and left. "Good work, let's eat! My name is Wyndelin by the way, thanks for the help." "Talk" "You" Think |

Blood painted Aslaug's muzzle as she finished the young elk within her jaws, this was her first time being she who gave a final blow to prey. And even if it may will be seen a cruel act,it was just part of life, part of being a hunter. They needed the food as much as the prey needed their life. Besides they were using it all, so no waste would be made,or at least on her own like. The male was also done with the mother, and as he approached she gave him a soft smile. "Not a problem, yes we may eat!" She said as she approached the carcass, but before starting she gave the stranger a look as he introduced himself. "I am Aslaug Kvasir!" She explained happily. Once that was done she started to eat but not too much so He could eat aswell. "Speech" |

Wyndelin ripped into the side of the young elk, blood smearing his muzzle as he ate. It had been awhile since he had a good meal and he ate ravenously. He paused as she spoke. "Nice to meet you Aslaug." He licked the blood off his lips for a moment before digging back into the meal. It had been desperately needed. After he sated himself he sat back and cleaned the blood off his face. In the distance he heard the call of a magpie and new it was Flikkr, his companion. The bird was back with news and had apparently found some food for himself. Wynd hoped it was news about his family. "Well, I have to go now. Perhaps we'll run into each other again." -exit- "Talk" "You" Think |
