Flowers for Mumma
Ruku

They were wondering through the open plains, dodging snakes and plucking flowers. So far, Ru had three blue flowers, and Ku had four. It was an injustice that the tiny warrior could not ignore. When they found the next little tulip, the pair raced towards it. Their oversized paws were a hindrance, and Ru was laughing so much he could barely see where he was going. They reached the flower at the same time.
There was only one way to resolve this.
Carefully putting aside his bounty for their mother, and waiting for Ku to do the same, the young pup ran at his brother. “For victory!” he cried, as he leaped at his equal sized brother, and attempted to climb up over his back.

Mommy was going to love the bouquet of flowers they were making for her. As long as he could remember their puppa had been bringing home flowers for mom, now it was going to be him and Sen. Though they were practically the same wolf there was still competition blooming inside of them. Haiku had the most flowers for now, and he wanted to keep his lead. Senryu wouldn’t give him an easy go of it though and they reached the next bloom at the same time. The boys set down their prizes and settled things the old fashion way.
This time Ru went for his back and Haiku wasn’t quite ready for him. Still as Sen vaulted up his back Haiku would duck down so he could actually go under his brothers belly. The young pup would jump up suddenly once beneath his twin so he might throw his sibling off balance and to the ground so he could claim the win and the flower.

Collecting flowers had been Haiku’s idea, but that didn’t mean Ru was going to let him win. Same wolf or no, there was plenty of competition in the heart of Ruku. He loved his twin with all of his heart, and he loved to play, fight and compete. To get into trouble with the other half of his heart.
He wiggled and climbed up Haiku’s back. Well accustomed to where to put his feet and how to find purchase on the others back. He was winning! He was scaling the boy. He climbed high up there, and then Ku bucked, and sent Ru flying. As he sailed off Ku’s back he tried to grab his brother's ruff in his teeth or paws. Anything to ensure his brother came with him.

Nothing was the same without Senryu by his side, he really did feel like his brother was his other half and going through the day just didn’t compare without his twin. They were meant to be side by side, of that the boy was certain. He grinned as the two of them fought, he managed to lift Ru from his place but his own balance was disrupted as well. He squealed lightly as Ru pulled back on him. Prose cracked in sympathy from the branches above before the boy again aimed to push. He wanted to push against his brother and send the both of them rolling through the grasses. They were going to be covered in greenery by the time they returned to their mother, but right now Haiku didn’t have a care about it in the world.

Competitive as he was, sometimes Ru didn’t seem to know who he was rooting for. His brother knocked him back, but his hold on Ku’s scruff kept him from falling completely. He was laughing, and growling beneath his mouthful of fur. His little rump wiggling enough to almost toss his balance. His tail smacking occasionally into a limb of his brothers.
They thudded back to the earth as Ku gave up his push, and Ru was about to leg go - and then they were moving again. Ku shoved, and with a squeal, Ru tumbled off his brothers back. Flailing to grab a purchase of his brother. Maybe he succeeded, or perhaps Ku had simply sacrificed too much balance. The next thing he knew, his brother was rolling along with him. Crushing flowers and bending grass. Dirt coated his coat, and Ru squealed, instantly seeing a new game. “I’m going to beat you to the bottom of the hiiiiilll” he cried.

Laughing, growling, squealing in delight, Haiku was having the time of his life as he pushed off and sent the two of them rolling down the subtle incline. He felt his tummy do flips as he managed to get a little dizzy by the time he separated from his twin. They were both rolling and it was suddenly a race. ”Ahhhh!” Haiku returned as his rolly polly body sped up and caused him to get even more dizzy. He rolled and rolled and by the time he reached the bottom he didn’t even know where he was let alone who could have possibly been the winner. ”Ohh..” The world seemed to spin around him. His eyes crossed and his stomach suddenly went sour. ”I’m gonna be sick.” And with no more warning his breakfast came back up.

With every roll he hit the ground hard, trying to add momentum into his roll. He tore up earth, and was coated in flowers and soil and gathered a few small cutes as he flew down the hill. His stomach was roiling, and his head was spinning. He didn’t know what was up or down - was he still going down the hill, or was he flying up it?
His brother cried out. In joy or fear of the spinning, Ru didn’t know. He let out a shriek of his own, both in exhilaration and anticipation. Maybe a little bit of fear too.
They hit the ground, but the world was spinning too much for Ru to know who won. He lurched to his feet, and promptly fell over again. Hitting earth with his chin and blinking groggily. “Stop spinning!” he yelled at the world, irritated that it wouldn’t settle. he had settled and was still, so why was the world still moving.
He heard the sound of Ku vomiting, and smelt the remains of it. Perhaps he decided that actually, that was a really good idea right about now, because moments later, his stomach’s contents joined that of Ku’s.

Despite the consequences Haiku was having the time of his life, he’d never moved so fast as he had rolling down the hill. Now he might have been rolling in the grass because he was so dizzy, but that had been a crazy fun ride. So much fun that he’d made himself sick at the end. This was what life was all about, having a great time with his twin. Laughing, getting messy. Messy…
He was still spinning inside when the thought of their mother’s flowers crossed his mind. Haiku was sure that he couldn’t stand up, and from the sound of it his other half was feeling exactly the same. How could they even think about flowers at a time like this? There was too much fun to bed had.
”Haha, that was so much fun I puked.” He giggled through the foul taste in his mouth. ”when I can stand up again we should get a drink and then get back to flowers. Maybe.” He didn’t say it, but Haiku kind of wanted to roll down again.

Senryu watched the spinning earth with great interest. The way the hills and skies rolled. The way Haiku’s features rolled, and rolled, and rolled. Everything was rolling. Apparently, once you started, you didn’t stop again.
Ru looked over at the puke, and up at Ku, then back at the puke. He twitched. No. No. throwing puke at your brother wasn’t good behaviour. He was sure that was something that would get them into trouble. Big trouble. Bad idea.
Don’t do it.
He scooped up a pile of their shared sick, and lobbed it at his brother. He was already running, back up the hill where they had come from. Or at least. He was trying to. He was stumbling, and falling over. He couldn’t seem to remember how to use his legs, and the world kept moving. Was he actually going up?

Haiku was not looking at his brother at all, everything was spinning but it felt like the sky was one of the safest places to look. So much blue made it look like life was returning to a stationary position. He breathed in and out, but didn’t fail to notice Senryu hadn’t replied to him. The boy had a bad feeling well up in the pit of his stomach as he struggled to his paws and looked back to his twin. Who was throwing their puke at him. That feeling wasn’t nausea this time.
First he could hardly believe that his brother had voluntarily touched the stuff, second why he hadn’t thought of it first and thirdly how upset he was for his brother getting it in his fur. Haiku was doing better in the dizziness department, so even though his brother was already running, Haiku was a bit more steady. Already gross the boy managed his own disgusting projectile and chucked it at Sen.

He felt the lob that was chucked in his direction hit his back. He squealed at the sensation of liquid sick running down his legs. He tried to run faster, and tumbled face first into the grass. Haiku caught up with him of course, as he tried to find his sea legs. When his brother approached, he gave up with standing.
Instead, he dived across at his brother, aiming to tangle himself in his brother's legs. If he also managed to smear the sick down his legs across his brothers fur, then that would only be a further win. He was almost immune to the smell now, and his stomach had begun to settle. It was just one more ludicrous game in the boy reservoir.
