He found a nice sized leaf and used it to wrap up the pine pitch that he had made with Skælingr. It wasn't going to stay as nicely as the piece of leather that the other man had used to wrap his, but it would at least keep it from getting dirt stuck to the sticky substance. He stuck the clean end of the sick in the dirt that made up the floor of his den the same way he had let the stuff dry and looked at it with a smirk. He'd definitely have to find a use for that very soon. The wheels in his head were already turning and he was pretty excited about the possibilities. Allegro slipped out of his den and walked down to the river that snaked its way through the plains a short distance from his den so he could get a drink. The trip back from the thicket had felt longer than the trip there with a stick stuck in his mouth the whole way - especially since he had to try and not get the adhesive covered end stuck to anything in the process. After lapping up several long drinks of water he lifted his head with a content sigh. He couldn't say that he had really socialized much since returning to Abaven - at least not yet - but he was settling in and he was happy about that. It almost felt strange to be in a normal routine again. He turned and began to walk more toward the middle of the Serpent Plains. He wasn't sure who he was hoping to see yet, but today seemed like as good a day as any to get back into being with other wolves again. |

Well, Suspense was really in a pickle now. The poor girl was seated on her haunches in that loose sort of way of a puppy that was tired, she gazed up at the circle of the sky she could see from her position in the pit. It wasn't really a big hole or anything but for the tiny pup it's walls were too tall for her to escape by herself. She'd been following Ruin's scent, one moment happily waddling after her sister's trail and then the next the ground under her paws had dropped away and with it her tiny form had tumbled into a hole that an adult would recognize is suspiciously puppy-sized. Suspense didn't suspect her sister had set a trap but she had still fallen for it hook line and sinker.
After what felt like a million years to the tiny pup, but was closer to 15 minutes, of trying to escape the pit she had to give up, simply hope that an adult would find her soon. She was simply too small, her legs too short, to escape the hole.

He had just so happened to be paying attention to the scents around him in the hopes that he might find one that was new to him so that he could introduce himself which is what led him to catching the pup's scent. He remembered Theory mentioning that there would be a new litter soon when he first arrived in Abaven so it peeked his interest. He wasn't sure if this was one of those pups she had talked about, but he loved pups so it didn't really matter to him either way. When he started following the scent he realized that it led right to a hole in the ground. It was small enough that he probably would have walked right over it if he wasn't paying attention. His blue eyes peered into the hole and to his surprise he found the pup he had been looking for. She was the tiniest pup he had ever seen so that was surprising enough on its own, but he quickly realized she was stuck there. His brows raised with shock and he exclaimed, Oh, dear! Are you okay? Let me help you out of there." He reached into what was admittedly a pretty shallow hole, but he could see how such a tiny girl could get stuck here. He carefully picked her up by the scruff and lifted her back out to safety, placing her back onto flat land again. He gave her a quick once over to make sure she wasn't injured anywhere and then gave her a friendly grin. "Well then, all better, huh? What's your name, darling?" |
