After sharing the news of his father's death with the rest of the family Jupiter had informed Tyrian of his intention to travel for a bit. He just felt...well, he didn't know how he felt. All he knew for sure was that he felt different and not in a good way. It felt right to go away for a bit; to take a little time to process the how and why of his strange feelings. In all honesty Jupiter felt he shouldn't feel different at all. What had his dad meant to him anyway? Nothing. He'd just been the unlucky fucker that had managed to knock up Artemis.

Jupiter picked his way to the top of the falls and then sat down with an exaggerated sigh. He'd brought along a baggy of beads and a leather thong he intended to make a necklace out of so once settled he'd dug them out and got to work. It was work that was nearly effortless. Beyond the conscious effort to decide which bead to use next and what pattern he wanted overall, there wasn't much else to occupy his time, which meant Jupiter was largely alone with his thoughts. Whether or not that was a good thing or not he had yet to decide.

She liked the sunset falls, there was something calm and peaceful about them. The proximity to Abaven helped, too. Well she was still learning to fight, she could hold her own for a little longer now. Long enough for help to come, if she found herself in a tricky situation. As much as she didn’t like to rely on her family, it was still good to know.

She thought she had the place to herself, but her eyes snagged on the brilliant blues of a wolf in her spot, at the top of the falls. She frowned, tempted to turn and back away again before he noticed her. But that was the cowards choice. Was she really going to run from anything new in her life now? “Hey, uhmm.. Like the view?” oh dear god, had she forgotten how to converse like a normal person?

Jupiter's knee jerk reaction to hearing a lovely voice ask if he liked the scenery was to look at the speaker suggestively and say yes, but when he turned to do just that and saw who had addressed him, the words died on his lips. The coloring may have been different but he recognized those markings. The woman was related to Poem. No question about it. And he'd seen enough of Rhyme to recognize those leg markings too which meant this was likely a relative of his. She looked roughly the same age as Poem so...sibling, probably? The likelihood of shared blood between them and the knowledge that this particular cousin was probably the product of incest killed any flirty comments he might have made. He wasn't going to fall victim to that trap, nope.

"As a matter of fact, yes." He glanced out over the falls and then back to Motif. "I see why you Abavians picked this spot. Nice view all around." It would have been greatly improved by a lovely non relative, but life would be rather blase if he got what he wanted all the time. He had to wish for something sometimes. And besides, he was curious about this possible cousin. Blunt as usual, he decided to jump straight to the question that was bothering him. "You one of Rhyme's kids?"

Anxiety over strangers had apparently spilled into anxiety talking to strangers. As a child, she had been so open, quick to compliment and chat and adventure. These days, it seemed almost more effort then it was worth to strike up a conversion about the weather. She hated how much this effected her, and wished she could go back to the easy way of things she had had before.

Oh… good. Me too.” she said, eyeing the falls without getting any closer. The male before her was large and she wasn’t comfortable getting into his striking range. When he spoke the name of her pack, she realised she knew exactly where she came from. Was that a good thing, or a bad? It meant he knew she would have a whole pack to back her up, right?

She cast her gaze downwards, trying to calm her racing heart. ‘I… you know dad?”

Jupiter interpreted her clearly uncomfortable behavior as shyness. Which, to an arrogant prick like him, could only mean one thing: his dashing good looks were intimidating. He was pleased with the idea even though he was dealing with a cousin. It was nice to be recognized. He certainly wasn't going to complain. Believing he was in the presence of someone who was daunted by his machismo, Jupiter puffed out his chest a bit. Hamming it up was a knee jerk reaction; didn't matter if he expected nothing in return. He just wanted to be pretty and recognized for it.

Still preening a bit, Jupiter shrugged. "Uhhh, no. Seen him? Yes. Know him? No." He motioned towards the stripes on her legs. "Saw him once at a big shitshow and I recognize those markings." They were hard to forget after a revelation like that. "You got those and the uh Destruction-y lines so it ain't hard to put two and two together." Jupiter tapped the markings under one of his eyes. Surely she would know what those were. "I'm Jupiter, your cousin on your dad's side."

Jupiter , as he introduced himself, puffed up his chest. The gesture seemed almost silly to her, and she fought down the urge to giggle. It did at least help put a small smile on her lips. She was still cautious and uncertain, but if he was family, then he had to be alright, didn’t he? To Motif, her entire life, family had meant love and support.

He scrunched up her nose a little at Jupiter’s explanation. He had seen her dad, but didn’t know him? Oh! she remembered when she was very young, that her dad had told them that none of them could have a certain last name. Something to do with being estranged by his family. Honestly, she had never given it much thought. Was Jupiter a part of this family? He knew who she was, and didn’t seem to want nothing to do with him.

She mimicked the motion of touching his eye on her own, thoughtfully. The markings were pretty common in her family. “Well… it’s nice to meet you, cousin Jupiter. Are your blue markings pretty common on your side?” she asked genuinely curious.

Jupiter wracked his brain for a memory that included someone from Rhyme's family. It took a moment for it to click that Sparrow and Talon were Destructions by blood. It was weird to think about. They never really struck him as Destructions mostly because they'd been raised in Legion by Imperialis and because they didn't act like how he'd been brought up thinking Destructions acted. But he guessed the men in his family had a type and that type was the very things the patriarch at least scorned. It made sense, kinda. Opposites attracting and all that; wanting to be strong and being drawn to things that needed protecting. But even he, horndog that he was, knew that was a bad idea. Which was part of why he spurned the notion of love entirely.

"Nice to meet you too, kid." Oh god, had he reached the age of calling everyone 'kid' already? Surely not. But he'd been doing that a lot lately, hadn't he? Fuck. He was going to have to put an end to that. Not even Valentine used that word and he was old as shit.

He pointed questioningly to one of his blue swirls. "These? Nah, they all wish they were this handsome. This is from my mom's side. The Imperialis are all dark  and slate or purpley. Although," he was going to share a bit of useless information she probably would have no interest in, just because he felt like it. "I do have cousins on my dad's side who have similar markings...because they're also my cousins on my mom's side. It's a stupid small world, apparently." But enough about his strange family with attachment issues. "So you're from Abaven, yeah? What are you doing out here?"
