Taking care of onself

Kichi was alone again, well unless you count Lurid’s bear. Kichi didn’t count anything that wasn’t a wolf as real company. He had managed to sneak away from Ilyn once but now she was watching him closer determined not to lose sight of him again. Too bad Kichi had learned the bear wasn’t very fast and not nearly as agile at navigating through the forest. Kichi was getting close to being four months old now and certainly felt that made him much more capable of looking out for himself. Thus the pup played at the edge of the turf Ilyn seemed to not mind and waited. When Ilyn looked bored Kichi raced off, after a minute he heard the frustrated grunt and growl from behind, then the bear calling out loudly for him. Ilyn didn’t sound happy. Good! If Lurid was going to leave him alone then Kichi would use this as a chance to explore. He didn’t give a second thought to the predators in the forest that might label a wolf pup a snack. Nor did he seem to have interest in trying to hunt, at least anything of value. Nope, he zigzagged through the brush, felt the pleasure in jumping or climbing over large branches, or squeezing under some. Once he deemed himself far enough that it would take the bear a bit to find him Kichi started sniffing around the new bit of forest, tail wagging happily. All manner of things distracted him from the smells, to a funny looking lizard to arguing squirrels. After a bit he spotted some type of little flightless bird on the ground and with a yip chased it about for a time, but never truly tried to catch it. "Speech" Think |
