My Anaconda Don't Want None

Úlfr's exploration brought him eastward into swampy and humid territory. He found himself climbing over a tangle of mangrove roots as he headed nowhere in particular. He meant to just explore the south and get a feel for the territories surrounding Fireside, but his feet took off without him and now he was here. Ears flicked forward at the sound of something moving in the water. Úlfr's first thought was fish. He could go for some fish but as he eyed the thing in the water he suddenly realized it was not a fish at all. It was long… maybe an eel. He scrambled along the bank, seeking to get a better look at the creature when all of a sudden a fanged mouth shot out of the water right at him.

Ragna had gotten herself turned around on her hunt for her remaining herb stores. Now that she had a pack to call home she wanted to get all her herbs collected in one place for the benefit of her new pack. Of course this meant going across Boreas to gathering stores that she had ferreted away here and there until they'd be able to find a permanent home. On her way to one of the stores she'd taken a turn she now regretted. She was back in the mangroves. A place where she'd run into giant snakes, crocodiles and more mosquitos than she thought existed.
Her eyes were fixed on the water and she moved cautiously forward. She spied something swimming and immediate felt her stomach sink. It had to be another one of those nasty serpents. Before she could ponder it much more she looked up to see the serpent heading for a boy. Oh no. She leapt forward just as the snake struck. She had the luck to latch onto the things neck about four inches back from the head. She'd spared the boy her fangs but immediately she saw the coils retracting out of the water and seeking out her body.

Hattori really had no business coming out this way. The deed was done and his debt was repaid, and yet rather belatedly he wanted to know what happened here. He scanned the area, brows drawn, as though there would be any signs of scuffle or conflict so long after the fact. He knew that if blood had been spilled it would have long been washed away, he was wasting his time and it would surely be better spent at Venom's side. He would have left if it were not for the sounds of splashing water, something was thrashing about nearby and Hattori felt compelled to investigate. As quietly as he could manage given the muddy terrain the shinobi approached from behind only to pause when he took in the scent that was unfolding before him. A pair of familiar wolves were tackling quite possibly the largest snake he'd ever seen, two v one but the odds still didn't seem fair.
Charging in, Hattori darted around to the snakes tail and grabbed a hold with gritted teeth. His paws sunk into the dirt as he yanked back with all his weight, his back arching into an n shape as he did so. Snakes were more inclined to slither away rather than outright fight and that spoke volumes of the threat this beast could pose.

Úlfr froze in shock but luckily a woman came flying out of nowhere to his rescue. She seized the anaconda's neck and held on tight. However, as she did he saw the snake suddenly pulling itself out of the water towards her. He darted forward seizing the middle of the snake, catching the biggest coil as he latched his fangs deep into the muscular creature. He could feel it twisting and trying to wrap itself around his neck. A bolt of fear leapt down his stomach but at that moment a familiar form grabbed the snakes tail and yanked back, stretching it enough so that it didn't wrap entirely around Úlfr. He could see the form out of the corner of his eye and couldn't help but grin as he saw the horned man. Now they stood a good chance!

Ragna felt a rush of relief that the boy dove forward to help her, making it more difficult for the snake to wrap around her. They were soon joined by a brightly colored man with horns that seemed familiar to her. Between them the males managed to stretch the snake out enough that it didn't have a chance to completely wrap around her.
The snake thrashed and twisted as it tried to bite onto her, fangs questing for blood. Ragna bit down harder and thrashed her own head seeking to do as much damage as possible. She wasn't the sort to kill for the thrill of it but she didn't dare release the snake to see if it would flee. The moment she did she'd be opening herself up to a potentially fatal attack. They'd need to end this fight the old-fashioned way.

Hattori was strong but the snake was stronger. He felt the muscles shift and coil beneath his grip, stubbornly holding on with all it had and refusing to let go. The wise move would have been to cut its loses and try to escape, but even with the water that surrounded them Hattori suspected that the snake knew that simply wasn't an option. He knew snakes could swim pretty fast but would it be able to dash away quick enough to avoid the jaws of three wolves? Probably not. He had no idea what thoughts were running through the snakes mind but if he had to hazard a guess it would be that...it was laying all of its cards on the table. Going all in with a frontal assault, giving all it had or it'd die trying.
His grip was waning, the snake was covered in mud and brackish slime, and the more it trashed the further Hattori's grip slipped. He was nearing the thinned end of its tail and Hattori knew he'd have to do something lest he drop it. Unless... His jaws opened and the snakes lower half made a splash landing but before it had time to make advantage of its new found freedom Hattori slapped his paws forward and raked his talons into it. Pinning them down far more effectively than his teeth had managed to.

Úlfr sought to strengthen his grip on he snake, taking a moment to thrash his head. He did this to worsen the damage to the other creature and he hoped it wouldn't cause anyone else to lose their grip. The snake was twisting and struggling and it was truly impressive how strong the creature was. Boy, if his mothers could see him now.
Suddenly, the snake thrashed in a violent and unexpected motion causing Úlfr and the horned man to lose their grips. Úlfr felt a flash of fear race through his heart but thankfully he horned man managed to pin he snakes tail down. The boy leapt for the middle of the snake once more, grabbing hold of its flesh and doing his best to cause as much damage as possible in the hopes that they could end it.

Ragna moved strategically. The snake twisted and writhed but she held firm. Whenever she felt she had a chance Ragna would inch her jaws closer to the serpents head. At one point the boys lost their grip but she managed to keep her hold, her heart pounding as she feared it would wrap itself around her. Thankfully, her fellows got a hold of the snake once more. By that time, Ragna managed to work her teeth to its throat. Her jaws scissored shut, cutting through flesh and eventually strangling the serpent. Whens he was sure it was dead she let go and backed up, eyeing the snake as it continued to writhe while staring with cold, dead eyes.

Between the free of them the snake didn't really stand much of a chance. Hattori slashed and cut, painting the murky water red as the other two ripped into the beast with their teeth. The shinobi felt nothing, no pity or remorse as he watched the life die in the snake's beady, dark eyes. It shouldn't have attacked, this was the result of its poorly thought out actions and whilst it was dead and could no longer regret it served as a good lesson for those who survived. His tongue felt gritty with specks of mud as he pulled away, having a little bit of trouble unhooking his talons from the sinewy flesh of the snake. He then looked to the others, they were dirty and soggy from the mangrove water but all in all they seemed well enough. No real harm done.
And that was that, Hattori was now free to go off on his-no so-merry way.
