And It's The Stars That Shine For You
Stjarna settled down in the woods with the items they had. Jynn would be along shortly so in the mean time Star decided to go ahead and get started. It was a lovely day but the sun would set before either of them knew it. No use wasting daylight. Star had a nice piece of leather they sought to put to good use. Mainly they planned to shape the piece into a pair of bracers for his front legs and then use some of the scraps to fashion a sling to use in launching projectiles.
Stjarna placed the leather between front legs and started working on cutting a rough piece that would fit around one of their front legs. Once that was done Star took one of the little scraps and started chewing it into the rough rectangular shape for a sling pouch. The even tinier scraps were just left on the ground for mother nature to use as she saw fit.

Jynn followed after Stjarna until they reached the Whistling Willows and then she broke off to find some good sticks to make both a spear and a wooden axe handle. She'd want something long and thin for the spear and shorter and wider for the axe handle but not so thick it couldn't be handled easily.
Jynn scanned the underbrush as she walked along the forest paths until she spied some straight branches that had blown down from a slender, young tree. She picked up a long, straight branch for the spear and a shorter one for the handle. Carefully maneuvering the sticks between her teeth so she could carry both at the same time she trotted back to the area where Star was already working on other projects. She settled down and pulled one of the sticks closer to herself. She grinned. "So, have you been in Boreas long? I'm a newcomer myself, spent most of my time in Auster so far."

Star returned to the bracer, resting their front left leg in the piece of leather and wrapping it around to check that it fit. Once satisfied, Star set it down and carefully chewed holes in it. They held the leather down with their paws as they moved it into their mouth, biting through with calculated precision to create evenly spaced holes for the lacing. Once that was done Star moved back to the leather pouch and once again used their canine teeth to punch holes on either side of the pouch for the leather straps to go through.
Stjarna paused, yawning lightly to stretch their lower jaw before nodded. "Yea, I haven' been in Boreas long. I've only went to Auster once and uhh… ran right into a bear. Decided that was enough of that." Star chuckled, remembering that it hadn't just been a bear but a lion and a tiger too not long after crossing the sand bridge that connected the two lands.

Jynn set the first stick down between her paws and started to chew off the extra branches and leaves in order to create a clean, straight stick which she would then sharpen into a simple, wooden spear. She carefully worked her teeth over a large, excess brach and pulled for a moment before crunching with her teeth all the way to the bottom and chewing it off. She worked in silence until at last he had one nice spear shaft.
She chuckled in response to Star's statement the bear. "Strange, that happened to me to but it could be that its so close to winter. Everyone's trying to fatten up, especially the bears."
She picked up the thicker stick between her paws and started chewing off the excess leaves and extra little sticks from that one as well. It wouldn't make a good axe if you could poke yourself by holding the handle. Jynn continued to work away on the shorter branch until she had a clean handle for the axe head.

Stjarna nodded, that made sense to them. Bears had to put on a lot of weight quickly and as such were very defensive of kills and even gutsy enough to go after solitary wolves or pairs. Stjarna collected the leather strands they were keeping in their travois and settled back down to finish their work. Star started at the bottom, carefully threading the leather cord through the bottom holes of the bracer and then crisscrossing them on the way up, alternating the holes on either side to form an 'x' pattern of lacing. Once at the top the wolf tied a little knot at each end of the strand to prevent them slipping back out. Next Star pulled the pouch to the forefront and placed a piece of the leather cord on either side of the pouch. Picking up one of the leather strands, Stjarna tied a knot in one end and then repeated the process with the other. Star pulled the leather cords tight so that the leather pouch formed more of a pouch than a flat piece.

Jynn hummed softly to herself as she worked, not to worried about disturbing the other wolf. He, or rather they, were focused on what they were crafting so she doubled down on what she was making. Jynn picked up the first spear in her jaws and trotted over to a large rock nestled between the roots of a nearby tree. She carefully repositioned the spear in her mouth so that her jaws were closer to the end she wanted to sharpen. She examined the rock for a moment and then started pushing the end of the spear against the rock to sharpen it and push the wood into a rounded point.
Satisfied with her spear she moved back to the axe handle. She carefully chewed at the end, removing a bit of excess material with her jaws and spitting it out on the grass. She then worked her fangs over one end of it to form a notch that could effectively hold the axe head. Once she had a spare shoulder blade she could attach it to the handle to finish the axe.
