Skadi walked towards the pit with her head held high. She’d lost the wager with Tyrfing and now had the scary task of kissing the prisoner on the nose. Even though the thought made her nervous she was determined not to let it show. She wasn’t going to give her brother anymore reason to be smug. No, she was going to her punishment bravely.

Reaching the lip of it she glanced over at her brother before peering into the darkness below. The sun was at just the right angle to cast part of the pit into deep shadow. Alright, this was it. Skadi stuck out her bottom lip as she considered the height. That was a long way down and she was not jumping in! She drew the line there. “Hey! Lady! Are you in there?”

Tyrfing couldn't keep the smug grin off his face as they made the trek to the pit. His tail was flagged high and proud in the air, and to every wolf they passed he gave an even wider smile towards, unable to keep his joy hidden for what it was his sister was forced to now do. Winning was amazing, and the prize couldn't be any more satisfying. Watching her peer into the pit, the purple pup let out a small laugh though he tried to choke it back. "Do you need me to give you a push?" He whispered to her teasingly. How Skadi intended to get down there and plant a kiss upon the prisoner's nose, Fin had no idea. Whatever method was to her madness, he'd sit back and witness and cackle accordingly, and then make sure every one of their siblings heard about it when they made it back home.

Viper had grown used to her days being mostly uneventful if not because she couldn't escape the pit to find something to get in to, but because no one seemed to visit her unless it was to tend to her wounds or give her a left over meal to keep her alive. She was young the last time she was labeled a prisoner and it was definitely a different feeling now as an adult when she felt she was a lot more capable of defending herself and instead was now thrown into cage. The sound or stirring of the young pups she wouldn't notice as she learned to tune out the sound of passing pack wolves, but when a voice hit the air her head lightly picked up to buzz her eyes up at the grate where two little shadows looked down at her. She already felt annoyed by the audience, silly pups or not. She'd only look up at them for a few seconds in thought, not sure if she even wanted to respond to them. She finally picked her body up off the ground and turned towards them best she could before asking, "What'do ya want?" the annoyance obvious in her voice, and she was eager to get them to leave her alone as soon as she could scare them off. Walk "Talk" Think

Skadi whisper hissed back at Tyrfing, "No! Shut up." He was not funny. This was serious business and she was at a loss at what to do. She didn't know why the woman was in the pit but there had to be a good reason. Without an answer as to why Skadi's imagination did its best to fill the gap. The woman could be a witch, a bloodsucker or a pup eater, all of which were scary prospects that made this task all the more daunting. It would, however, be a nice feather in her cap if she did it without getting scared. Then she could say she kept her word, kissed an outlaw on the nose and none of her siblings were as brave as her! True, courageous and the stoutest heart of her litter. Yes, she decided, this was a good idea in the long run. Didn't matter that a loss was what had gotten her here.

With that little pep talk humming away in the back of her mind, Skadi began to scheme. The walls were tall enough to be a challenge for the woman to get out, but it was the bars on top that were keeping her in, which meant maybe the woman could reach up and close the distance a little. Maybe that would be enough to make it possible for Skadi to lean in far enough for a kiss. "Oh um..." Confidence. No umming! Skadi cleared her throat. "I want to tell you a secret." She shot Tyrfing a look, telling him to be quiet. "If you stand up here," she patted the dirt wall below her. "I'll whisper it in your ear."

Fin did his absolute best to not laugh when he was so firmly commanded to shut up, so instead of the loud echoing belly-aching laughter that nature had intended, the purple pup let out a combination of a strangled cackle and a loud cough. This was so far the best day in his young life, that much he was convinced. If only there was a way to capture the moment for all of eternity so he could look back at Skadi's loser face being forced to plant a kiss upon the pit-viper's nose - oh, how he'd be sharing this story with her grandkids one day.

She shot towards him a look that very much mirrored her earlier 'shut up' and he snapped his jaws shut with an audible click. Excitement brewed in his chest and his grin tugged at his firmly shut lips. He was unable to force the sheer glee away, so he ended up (accurately) looking very much like he was holding back an amazing secret. "Yeah, it's a good secret too!" He couldn't help but call out to the pit from where he sat, smothering once more his bubbling laughter.

Viper's eyes squinted up to the grate that the pups leered down at her from. She wasn't really falling into their game and could care less for their company. She didn't really have any perception between pups and adults, or maybe just an opinion of their differences if anything. She after all didn't act like an adult in the slightest. She was questioning their seriousness though, catching on to the siblings banter. Still, she stepped up on the lump closest to her exit, her nose twitching up toward the secret keepers. "Don' think there's much you can tell me that I wanna know." Whatever their plan was, it wouldn't be easy to just get her to go on up and obey the little tykes. No one else in the pack seemed to pay her any attention, so why would they? She almost felt certain that she had even been forgotten about by the pack. Walk "Talk" Think

Oh boy this was gonna be harder than she thought. Why were adults so skeptical all the time? It was really dumb and inconvenient especially when she needed to get away with something. Skadi resisted the urge to frown down at the captive. "No?" she asked, stalling for time. This was gonna be hard. Why couldn't she just listen? Clearly, as someone outside the pit, she had the better character or whatever so if the woman would just think she'd realize Skadi was completely trustworthy. Never mind that she only wanted the woman to trust her so she could win a bet. That was an unimportant detail.

She peeked down at the woman with wide, innocent eyes. "But if you don't listen how will you know whether or not it's something you wanna know?" The question was a tangle and had been a bear to put together, but it made sense, right? That was an argument, wasn't it? If not maybe it was confusing enough to confuse the captive into wanting to listen out of bewilderment. Skadi would take whatever she could get.
