Gossamer trotted along after Natha, following the cat on her fishing trip in order to go herb hunting. According to Ásta, autumn was the best time to harvest Abscess Root. As its name would imply it was useful to slow bleeding, ease inflammation and combat infection. It liked damp soils and shaded river sides so the minute Gossamer saw Natha heading for the great river she just had to take along. Now to try and find the plant. As Natha went to the river side to fish, Gossamer started working her way down the river bank, followed by her giant fox companion as the duo kept their eyes peeled for their quarry. "Remember, Gossamer, the plant will be about a foot high. Lots of little branches covered in pairs of leaflets." Gossamer frowned, she felt like that could be anything growing along the river bank.

Jigsaw was well on his way to the title of worlds greatest healer, and thankfully his father was supportive enough to take the excitable pup out of Habari territory occasionally in search of rarer herbs to pick. While Recluse's task had been to collect specifically plants that bore the color of her eyes, he knew she'd appreciate him returning with other herbs too. Ones that could heal the sick or help pain to fade. The issue was that Jigsaw didn't quite know which herbs did what yet, and so he found himself collecting almost every unique plant he saw just in case it was a good one. He caught the sound of a voice up ahead, ears perking with interest. It sounded like a healer's instruction if he'd ever heard one, and in a flash Jigsaw was at the black and white pup's side with eyes peeled for this tall plant with leaflets. "What do leaflets look like?" He interjected without introduction, simply assuming he would be welcome to join the search. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Gossamer turned her head at the voice that asked what leaflets were. She saw a young boy there, just a bit older than herself. Ásta replied before she could. "Leaflets are just small leaves, often in pairs." Gossamer gazed at the boy for a moment. "Are you training to be a healer to? We're looking for abscess root, you can join us if you want." The more eyes looking for the plant the better. Based on what Asta had said it had a considerable root system so there should be enough rhizomes for both of them. Gossamer worked her way along the river, pausing at one point to introduce herself. "I'm Gossamer Fatalis, by the way. Princess of the Armada."

Suddenly she spied something that looked like the plant the needed. It matched the fox's description and she bounded over to it. "Hey, I think I found it! Ásta, is this is?" the fox arrived and nodded. "Looks good, now you two will need to dig to expose the root."

While it had hardly occurred to Jigsaw that he might be shoo'ed away, he still had the good sense to be thankful when he was welcomed into the search. "Thanks!" He told the helpful fox, turning his head towards the girl. "I'm Jigsaw Klein of Habari! I think our packs are already friends so that makes you my friend too." He decided. There was one more question to be answered, and he hesitated as she asked if he was training to be a healer. In Jigsaw's mind he was well passed the training - Recluse had already sworn to him a rank all for him. Though he didn't want to make the other girl feel bad, especially if she wasn't as far along in her lessons. "Yeah I am!" The pup responded, deciding the white lie was fine for now. When the other pup found the plant he for a small moment felt a pang of jealousy. Wow, she was fast. Maybe he wasn't the greatest yet, but he thought he'd be at least faster then the other pups of his age. "Good job!" He praised her, sprinting over to where she had found the herb. The fox confirmed it, and Jigsaw's tail waved wildly through the air. "I'm not a great digger." He was forced to admit, looking over at Gossamer. "But I can help you if you need to pull it out!" "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Gossamer thought for a moment and then nodded. "I think you're right." Habari sounded like the name of one of their allies, though to be honest she wasn't the best at remember all the pack names and their relationships to the Armada. Gossamer looked over at the boy who stated that he was not a good digger. She puffed up her chest. "Ok, that's alright. I'm a great digger!" She eyed the plant and dug her paws into the fresh earth. While she could be fussy about guts and slimy fish, she had no problem with dirt. Gossamer worked at her digging until she revealed a good chunk of the root system. She looked up to Asta. Asta peered down into the mud, clicking her tongue before nodding. "Ok, you want the rhizomes, those are these swollen parts. Each of you go ahead and chew one loose." Gossamer nodded before pressing her muzzle into the dirt. She was able to chew the rhizome out easily with her long fangs though she sneezed as she got dirt in her nose. "Gow ih!' She said between clenched teeth.

Gossamer was a great digger, and Jigsaw watched in fascination as she moved the earth and exposed the weird swollen parts of the plant. The fox named them, and explained that each pup was to bite one off. That much Jigsaw could do, a benefit to being extremely thin was how easily he could stick his muzzle into small places. He waited patiently for the other pup to retrieve hers and then dove in, moving the dirt with his nose until he'd found a rhizome. His teeth weren't as spectacularly long and pointy as Gossamer's, but he still managed to chew one loose after some effort. When he withdrew his head, his muzzle was painted in dirt and the root hung between his jaws. "Mrr twoo!" He announced happily. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."
