Navigation Random Event

A strange phenomenon has started to occur off the northern coasts, where sea ice begins form just off the shoreline. Intrigued by the phenomenon, you and a few others go to explore, surprised at how far out the ice stretches. But as you begin to go further into the sea, the ice beneath your paws begins to crack and splinter, separating and sucking you down abruptly into the frigid-cold depths. If you don't find a way out death is surely imminent, so better come up with a plan - and fast!

Izanami walked through the northern coats or borea, where ice and frost covered part of the waters she walked on. The female was here to explore more, to get herself know more of boreas. As she walked she looked around as nothing seemd out of normal for now, her steps were careful and she didnt want to fall down by mistake or break the ice. She was glad she was light in weight and along as she wast reckless on this nothing wrong would happen right? Then she saw how the ice from a bit far into the ocean was starting to crack, and like if of thunder was, it sounded more and more. Curious she wanted to investigate but she couldn't do so like a crazy woman. She needed to be cautious.

She didnt know what was wrong and slowly she approached. As she did then a new ckarcking noise appeared, this time from under her and for that she fell down into the frigid waters. It was sudden but being a wolf trained to work under dangerous situations her mind started to work on a quick idea.

Hanako's ears pinned against her skull as ice began to creak and groan beneath her paws. Oh no. Even a rookie like her knew what that meant. She took one step back, as though to try and skitter back to land but it was too little too late. The ice split beneath her, sucking her down into the icy depths as a shriek passed her pale lips. She was a good swimmer but the cold was a massive shock to her system, her lungs seized up in her chest as every single muscle in her tensed solid. For a terrifying moment she couldn't move, stiff and taut as she sunk further below the surface, surrounded by water so dark that it was as though she had somehow found her way into a starless night sky. The air bubbled from her lips she shook her head, fighting against the torpor that infected her system, she needed to kick her way to the surface and fast!

you know im like a ghost

The winter was never a favored season, even if the lands did get that pretty layer of thick snow and the ponds froze over with ice, when she was little her mentor always told her to be wary of the ice it never freezes even, she did her best to listen to that old mutt as she made her way threw life with the small tidbits he had taught her before he passed. Addison was never the type to test her luck but she had found herself treading over the layer of ice just as the few had done before her, long black claws clicking against the sheet of ice that was starting to show the strain of holding the wolves. With the loud crack, the female's head shot up ears perked as she searched for the source of the sound only to see the others from before disappear under the ice swept by the current that pulled on. her blurred orbs moving to her feet gulping as she watched the crack forming under her feet, she knew it was to late when the cold water roared from under the ice soaking her paws in an inch of water before finally giving out under her, dropping the entirety of her body into the water. A loud cry leaving the dark mutts maw she scrapped the snow-covered layer of ice that once held her dry betraying her by letting go under her feet, it was obvious that fear had stricken the inexperienced traveler, panicking until she was finally sucked under with the rest.

Upon falling, she could feel the icy cold waters hug her small body into a ruthless hug from the coldness. She needed to think quickly and if she wanted to survive she needed to get out as soon as she could. She was glad she knew how to act in stressful situations. just like when she and her clan were ambushed and nearly killed. She took a deep breath to firstly calm down enough to think better and second because she needed to relax her heart rate that as of now was high.

She looked around as she tried to stay afloat, aiming to find anything that could help her find the way to the shore. Well, they were up north right? Perhaps swimming south could help? Well as far as she could tell it was the only thing she could do and like that as quickly as she could she started to swim south.

Hanako surfaced with a panicked gasp, her legs kicking frantically beneath the surface as shiver after shiver carved their way down her spine. Her teeth were chattering so fierce the force of it caused her head to rattle, blurring her already hazy vision. It was in that moment that she realised she wasn't alone, that two other figures had foolishly joined her for an afternoon swim. Sucked to be them. Except that one of the strangers, a dark wolf from the looks of it, seemed to think that this was a problem she could just swim away from, paddling furiously as if that was enough to get her out alive. Even Hanako wasn't that stupid. The stranger was gonna freeze and die if she kept that up and honestly...maybe she kinda deserved it.

Hanako didn't have the time or energy to worry about her, she was getting exhausted and fast. But the sheer stupidity of the stranger's actions was too much to ignore, she just couldn't help herself. Not when she herself kinda knew what to do, a cautionary tale she'd been told in passing that miraculously came to mind right here and no. Go figure.

"H-h-h hey yooou!" She spluttered out, her words a shivery mess. She took a long moment to steady her breathing, to calm it as much as she could given the circumstances. Drastic times called for drastic measures. "S-s-stop f-fucking around! You'll die before you swim anywhere! Get to the ice and put your front legs on it." She demonstrated it herself, front paws up, back legs kicking furiously.

you know im like a ghost

When her head went under everything went silent, like the things around her started playing in slow motion. Her eyes held tight struggling to hold her breath as everything in her screamed to stop fighting to let the current take her. It only took seconds for her brain to restart, her eyes slowly opening as she blew a stream of air from her nose following the path they took to reach the surface, yet another thing that old scraggly mutt had told her how he had seen many that panic underwater and in their confusion swim deeper sealing the lad's fate. 'Follow the bubbles, you must always follow the bubbles Addie.' The words had plastered in her brain from the many times he spoke it. When reaching the surface the reality that he current had pulled her from the hole she had fallen from. Tearing for air as her lungs turned for the needed breath, clawing and pounding at the layer of ice that kept her from the air and frigid water.

When the ice finally cracked enough her body yanked itself above water claws burning themselves in the top layer of ice to keep her from going under once again. The faes legs had stopped thrashing under the ice as she caught her breath pulling the stinging oxygen back into lungs that started to burn with each breath. She gasped like the wind had been knocked from her soaking body ears pinned to her head, only for the shaking voice to fill her ears turning to eye the other mutt that had found its way into the lake for the frigid swim she had taken herself. Was she screaming at her? Couldn't see she knew? hanging from the ice just as she had, maybe best to turn attentions to the other black blob that remained under the ice swimming either closer or farther from land, the blob way too far, the picture too unclear for her to comprehend. "G-g-get-t t-that one!" her ears pushing forward in the direction of the other hole where the black she-wolf had fallen in.

Iza was acting from instinct, in a situation like she had to do what she saw best in a short period of time. But yes perhaps getting back into the ice seemed way wiser. A koi-colored female yelled at her, telling her what to do instead. Well, there was not time to talk back, she didnt like to being seen a fool. Calmly she swam to the nearest piece of ice, pulling herself up. The brown female approached her. Well she wasnt one to help others, but not selfish neither. Calmly she offered Addison her paw. "Hold on." She commanded firmly. "Quick," She did her best to keep her balance in the slippy texture of the fragile ice.

She was glad she was this small and light, should she have been larger and heavier she would be falling back now. Somone like Hattori would have it harder.

Another shiver ripped through Hanako's system as she struggled with all her might and finally, finally hauled her front end up onto the ice. And then with a bit more kicking her rear followed suit. Panting and utterly exhausted she laid atop the ice for a long and lingering moment, her eyes flitted closed as she thanked her lucky stars. What would she have done if the blind panic had remained in charge? Drowned probably. She shuddered again, though this time not from the cold. Despite how bad she'd been feeling as of late there was still so much she wanted to see, do and experience. If she could survive this then surely a little heartbreak was nothing. Surely surely surely. Her sides heaved as she looked to the others, dripping wet and paws numb, at least they were all having a terrible day together. These days three seemed to be a very unlucky number.

"Get low. On your belly and scoot." She mumbled, the cold making her tongue feel heavy in her mouth. "If...you walk it might break again."

you know im like a ghost

With hind paws spread clawing at the bottom of the ice the frigid water coating her hind end trying its best to coaks her back under. Each time she managed to haul more of her belly and hind onto dry land she was only to slip farther back into the hole she had created with black claws digging into the exposed ice. The slow cold winds that moved over the ice sheeted water shaking the dark femora to the core, whining softly threw the heavy pants that left her lulled open maw. How Addison dreaded the cold, but what she dreaded more was asking for help. When the other lupine made her way to her with an extended paw it was hard for her to even grab the paw that helped dragged her frame up onto the ice.

Sitting there with heavy breaths that steamed when it made contact with the air the canines hazed orbs rolled up to the one with a pelt of night. "T-thank you..." and with her simple words the voice of the other echoed out in their direction warning of the thin ice that they once had almost met the dangers of. With a moment of rest, the small brown frame scooted across the ice on her belly careful not to fall back threw the ice, peering back to the black blur who had pulled her out of the water making sure that she wasn't too far behind.

Iza helped the brownish female to come to the ice, she may didnt have a real reason for saving her, she just did out of inertia. Perhaps she still had a heart under that harsh and cold exterior. One that will always remain, nothing beyond that shall escape to the rest of the world. "No problem." She said quietly as she allowed her belly to contact with the ice as per the other koi's words. She remained calm, it was icy cold but worrying and complaining wouldn't change the situation, being calm would be the only way of having better chances of surviving.

And like that she followed the other two, trying to make her feet light so the ice wouldn't break under more weight. And as such, she walked toward the place the others did.
