The girl was feeling bold, determined. She would show the grown ups she could look after herself and these sad kids that kept turning up, even if it meant she couldn’t sleep. Daphne was no trouble, she minded the rules set down by her mothers and tried hard to focus on her lessons, but more and more she found herself wanting to learn how to fight properly. Not necessarily to cause harm to others, quite the opposite really, she wanted to be able to hold her own while causing the least physical damage possible. It would always be easy to accidentally hurt someone, being as large as she was, but if she was ever going to be a healer, that’d only be making more work for herself in the long run.

Her tail flagged high over her back as she worked on tracking down Rudy, sure, Art was closest to her in size, but she didn’t want to bug just one of her brothers all of the time. That wouldn’t be very fair to him, and would narrow her own range of experience too. The cinnamon coated racoon was following her again, grumbling and growling under her breath. She was quickly learning how to read the wolf-girls body language, she knew when the child puffed up her chest like that there was trouble to be had. Well, she was quite good at running to the nearest adult to break it up if it came to that. The mottled boy was ahead, and the girl pinned her ears back and ran at him. The raccoon held back, standing up on her hind legs, nose twitching. The boys would quickly learn to keep their guard up if they smelled their sister on the breeze at this rate.

Rudy had just returned from a fallen hunting attempt.  The boy had paused long enough to check for the scent of Art or Tika.  Was it time to go try and help Tika or train with Art?  Movement caught the corner of his eye and Rudy was surprised to see Daphne charging right at him.  Since when did she get so eager?  Rudy would of grinned at her but there wasn’t exactly a lot of time right now.

She was larger than him but instead of dodging Rudy went for surprising her by just bracing for the impact.  Spreading his feet as mom directed and angling and putting his shoulder as her line of target if she kept going straight.  Was she really intending to ram into him? Rudy was curious and gave her a challenging grin.  If she charged in, how good was his brace?  Would she shove into him hard or could he keep his positioning?
 

Daphne’s tail waved behind her as Rudy spread his legs to brace, she didn’t have to worry about protecting her undersides from attackers like the boys did, and didn’t much mind if her tail ended up pulled, after all, this was just for practice, they wouldn’t really hurt each other... On purpose.

She didn’t slow her charge, hoping her weight would be enough to push Rudy back a few steps. She opened her jaws wide, closing on the looser, thicker skin along the side of his neck or shoulder, she wasn’t quite sure. A low growl bubbled in her throat, playful and fierce. She would give him a moment to retaliate. This was just practice after all.

She apparently wasn’t stopping! Rudy scooted back a little from the impact but was thrilled to see he’d been able to maintain a sense of balance even after being hit.  Ohho! His sister was biting now also? A fight it was then! Rudy hadn’t expected the bite so he certainly hadn’t dodged it, and when he felt the teeth his tail wagged in joy.  Daphne was becoming more fun! Rudy lifted his front paw’s off the ground, lifting his body up so that hopefully Daphne wouldn’t be prepared to keep her grip when his body went upwards.  The boy raised a paw to slap at the top of her muzzle, mouth angling to bite on either side of the muzzle. Her excitement at actually landing her hit was short lived. While she was distracted trying to get Pandora’s approval, he jumped up and smacked her face! How rude! In her shock, she had relinquished her hold on the fur around his neck with a growl that was close to being an indignant squawk. Daphne met Rudy’s attempt at a jaw spar with parted jaws of her own, throwing her weight into her shoulder in the hopes she might knock him down much in the same way as she had Art. If it came to another low level tussle, her larger size would probably be an advantage, despite it giving her brother so much more to aim at.

Rudy opened his jaw as far as he could stretch them when Daph opened up her own.  The boy was used to fighting Art who could also overpower him so he was ready for a similar move from his overly large sister.  Rudy hopped to the side with his front feet even as his head darted down for a fast bite at her front leg.  This wasn't an overly serious fight, right?  It was ok if his tail wagged some then surely. Rudy was trying to treat her a bit more gently than he would with Art.  She was a sister and supposed to be protected after all, right?  With that in mind the bite was only intended to prove he was faster with a light pinch.  The faster of the two would win, right?  Rudy felt a bit of guilt as the boy realized he wasn’t even sure if Daph wanted to be a great fighter or was just interested in playing with her brother. Daphne hadn’t been expecting her brother’s sharp nip to her front leg, and she jumped back with a sharp yelp, tangling her own feet beneath her as she tried to draw back. Realising what was happening with no way to stop it, Daphne began to laugh as her hefty rump hit the ground behind her, driving the air out of her chest with an Oof!. Flopping back to expose her belly, but still laughing all the while, she declared, "You win! you win!" It would take her a moment to catch her breath, but once she did, she would be ready to go again.
