She had been watched over by Aoi for the past few days and it was something Maija wasn't used to at all. All of her life, she had been on her own, defending herself and hunting for food that would only sustain her gullet. Trust was something she knew nothing about, as well as love and honesty. Those were all foreign to her, the one who only knew about isolation, hurt, and anger. Impatience was another thing that she knew all too well, and it was this that reared its ugly head one morning.
The golden-furred female was out hunting, enjoying the time to herself on that brisk, autumn morning. Considering that she was in the Northern region of Alacritis, the snow and ice didn't falter all year round. She had left Aoi sleeping in the main den that used to be occupied by the old Glaciem pack. Its remnants of the former pack members still lingered. Something about the icy temperatures kept their scents around the now forgotten cave, abandoned by the Rogues that now haunted the rest of the continent. It was a perfect place for someone like herself to get away from the world.
As she stalked a nearby snowshoe rabbit, Maija's senses heightened. She had been careful the past day or two since her fallout on Cathedral's Point, not sure when her body would give out again. It was a nuisance, having to worry about her health while in the presence of someone she barely knew. A small piece of her appreciated it, though, and she had decided it wouldn't hurt if she had someone nearby. Dragomir, she thought with a sigh, had been the only one she could call on. Without his presence, she was lost. She had been for a long while.
She refocused on her prey, stepping through the snow with tender paws, hoping to not break the footing beneath them so she wouldn't startle it. Maija wasn't build for icy weather, but she had to temporarily adapt if she wanted to survive. Leaf green gaze locked onto the rabbit and at the right minute, she raced off. Hopefully, the rabbit would lead her to its borrow and there she would find the jackpot.
