BURN SKIN AND BRAND WHAT ONCE WAS MINE The queen had arrived, and attention was taken. Their eyes turned like searchlights towards her presence, each and every one seemingly surprised at her arrival. The ravens watched her form with a combination of curiosity and anticipation. She had arrived newly in these lands, and her first stop was here. In this abyssal plain that stretched for miles and seemed not to cease. Their black eyes watched closely from their place on the ground. Perhaps the woman was daft - this was where wolves came to shed blood, came to pledge allegiance. And yet, the way the woman moved, she was not here for either. Her long legs stretched out below her, supporting her in an elegant statement of status. Pompous? Certainly. The ravens shifted from their spot in the grasses with a flutter of black wings.

Kalypso's burning eyes watched the birds as they left, a single black feather raining down from above. Her muscles relaxed as she eased into a sitting position on the hard earth. She had come for a very specific purpose - a purpose that the crows could not fathom just because of her appearance. A true fighter did not wear their scars upon their sleeve. They did not adorn themselves in the follies of their life - it showed their weaknesses and where they had been wrong. Kalypso Darksidy had come here to battle against those that inhabited these lands - to find their defenses, and break them. Her body remained as a dark mass in the midst of the meadow, unmistakable in its presence.

Azalea had been described as an angel, her features surely reminiscent of one. Pale white coat and a head dipped in auburn she was certainly a sight to behold. Limbs carried her delicately through the lands meant for wolves much harder than she. The little dove by all rights appeared the type to cry over bloodshed. Looks would be deceiving and nearly always were, though, for Azalea was a child walking away from the light with eyes pinned on the dark.

She was not meant for such a brutal life but oh so rarely did one truly choose the path the walked on. The daughter of light was still largely good, bathed in a pool of light and only casting a dark shadow. From a young age she has been a fighter and with maturity came an independence and fire that could not be broken. Azalea was the heir to her pack, Valhalla, and needed to learn to better protect herself. That was the excuse given when she so foolishly went looking for trouble, like she was now, and the grim truth was that Azalea loved the thrill of the fight. She loved the intoxicating rush of adrenaline and the taste of red iron on her tongue.

Before her sat an opponent, this she knew by the look on the wolf's face. The phantom she-wolf before her sat in stark silence. The ravens circled above for the meeting of two wolves here almost always meant bloodshed. What more could the greedy scavengers ask for than wolves ripping each other apart. One could not help but wonder if the birds found themselves godly, if they thought it their divine power that caused the wolves to war against their own kind. Eyes of fire laid upon the wolf and she dipped her head, courteous. To battle a stranger, she would do it right. "Evening, I am Azalea Adravendi."

Her eyes looked around, more for show than actually searching, "Wolves come here for very few reasons and you don't look like you're searching for a pack so I am under the impression you are here for a fight. If so, I will accept your challenge." She raised her crown high, taking a single step closer.

I figured we could do 3 rounds instead of 4? Feel free to change that if you don't think that's enough c: Shoot me a pm if you need something explained or I wasn't clear.

BURN SKIN AND BRAND WHAT ONCE WAS MINE Kalypso did not have to wait long for an opponent to appear in the distance. Smaller than she, the girl certainly seemed younger as well. Snowy white, with a face seemingly tainted with earth. The woman stayed in her place of rest. She remained in place as the girl came forward. The only movement that came from the blue shade came from her blazing eyes. They burned hot and violent. It was a blaze that could set fire to a forest, could lay waste to kingdoms. The girl still came forward, even as an evening wind brought promise of blood. Kalypso anticipated the salutations, the pleasantries as if this meeting was not the beginning of something sadistic.

evening, I am Azalea Adravendi. Wolves come here for very few reasons and you don't look like you're searching for a pack so I am under the impression you are here for a fight. If so, I will accept your challenge.

Adravendi. Wisps of a memory passed beneath the woman?s eyes, as if she had just gone through a particularly strong point of d?j? vu. But her brain discarded the information just as soon as it had come ? if the name had not been enough to warrant a footnote, it was of no concern to her. Kalypso was not here to reminisce on names, but to bring an opponent to their knees. Her eyes flashed with the inflection of a predator watching its prey. She rose from her seat on the earth and gave a small bow - Kalypso Darksidy. Her legs stretched out before her, moving her in relaxed strides around the girl. The gap between them remained at a yard.

The air between the two was pregnant as the shade looked closely at the knight that had come to do battle with her. This Azalea was smaller than herself, although by only a few inches. The gap was not large, but it was still there. The girl was in her adolescence, her muscles not entirely formed. The older wolf remained relaxed, her body becoming parallel to Azalea?s. Girl, was this such a good idea on your part? Kalypso spoke again without turning her head, her contralto voice filling the evening air with dark syllables. Don?t expect a tea party, sweetheart. If Kalypso was lucky, the girl would have some training, and it wouldn?t be so frightfully dull.

Her paws struck earth again, this time in an abrupt maneuver. It had not been hinted that she was ready to attack, and it was what Kalypso wanted. Her ears folded backwards as she closed the yard in less than a second. She wanted to test the girl on her maneuverability ? if she played her cards right, Azalea would have the upperhand in that aspect. The blue shade curled her head down and to her left, rolling her right shoulder forwards so that it would strike the girl?s right flank. Her weight was placed in the front paws as her back legs propelled her forward. Kalypso had tucked her tail between her legs so it would be less of a target as she attempted to knock the girl off balance.

09-14-2013, 09:36 AM (This post was last modified: 09-14-2013, 09:36 AM by Azalea.)

There was a certain chill in walking upon a stranger who watched so carefully yet gave no words, no sign of recognition. Not a muscle would flinch as Azalea approached the soot colored hell heathen. Her own words were enough to rally some attention, finally, the larger woman rising from her seat to bow her head. "Kalypso Darksidy," She would grant in return. Darksidy... it rang little a bell as Kalypso did and thus she suspected the female to not be of this land. A true stranger then. Azalea gave a little nod, her face a blank slate.

She was advanced upon, being circled much like the ravens did in the heavens above them. Eyes turned to slits as she followed the wolf who moved with silent precision. A viper in the grass.

Azalea was the clear underdog. This wolf moved with a confidence that the younger gal only pretended to have. Additionally there sat a good five inches between the two, as Azalea only stood a relatively small 31 inches. "Don't expect a tea party, sweetheart." Azalea grinned rather wickedly. As she assumed her opponent saw her as rather inferior for the task at hand, too young and too small to be a serious threat. She would beg to differ of course, though she gave no response to the words. Licking her chops her shoulders rolled in an easy shrug.

Their bodies aligned, space remaining between them. Her body had grown tense and with it her hackles rose to make her plush coat that much fuller appearing. It gave her a thick look, especially at this time of year when fur grew out in preparation for the colder months that lay ahead. Ears pulled back and her tail moved to be nearly form fitted against her left leg, away from the assailant.

Given their positioning, she anticipated the woman moving in for a strike on her right side, she truly had no other options. As she did so, Azalea's weight also went forward, though shifted off balance so that more lay on her front right leg. She pushed herself away from the wolf, head drawing back and nose tipping down to give some semblance of protection to her neck. Hind quarters lifted, paws leaving the ground. A jump in reverse.

Amber eyes landed on the shoulder that was angled toward her. Not an attack but rather a test of awareness, a prerequisite to what could and would come next. The shoulder barely brushed her side, hip and thus flank already drawn out of reach. As her hind paws landed, her center of gravity was low, legs bending and pushing her forward once more. Ivories exposed themselves as her neck extended and forepaws braced to keep her from catapulting into the other wolf.

Her teeth aimed an attack upon that shoulder that dare approach her, seeking to rip into flesh just below the shoulder blade though she could not be picky.

All this seemed to happen in slow motion, Azalea's breath coming fast and hard as the adrenaline filled her system and heightened her senses. If only her father and brother could see her now for she truly was a warrior.

I wasn't quite sure of the positioning :|

BURN SKIN AND BRAND WHAT ONCE WAS MINE Time had slowed to an imperceptible rate now. Time continued to move outside the vacuum, but here? Nothing existed in the universe except Kalypso and Azalea. They were yin and yang, constantly swirling. Blue and white. The girl twisted herself in response to the onslaught of the merle shade, her body contorting in order to avert the attack, and to counter with her own. Teeth sliced the air, and found purchase at the taut skin at the back of Kalypso?s left shoulder blade. Annoying, but the woman knew that the lacerations did not run deep. Perhaps only through the skin ? enough to produce blood and a bit of irritation.

The Darksidy woman kept her ears and tail tight to her body, anticipating now her own new attack. Weight remained heavily on her left side, hoping that simple physics would cause Kalypso to slam into the girl. Teeth brandished, Kalypso twisted her head to the left. The girl was smaller than herself ? but in such close combat, she would find it hard to maneuver around Kalypso. Dodge this. She reached down to grab either the top of the girl?s muzzle or the loose folds of skin at the back of her skull. Azalea had kept her hackles raised, but fluffed up fur would do nothing against a full-blown attack. One would leave a nasty scar, the other would leave Kalypso with an advantageous hold.

With the size difference, the biggest of the queen?s concerns was to simply knock the girl to the ground. Fighting on one?s back was hard enough, but with another wolf on top? Kalypso didn?t like playing nice on good days, and she didn?t feel that the girl?s eagerness for blood warranted fair play. The woman wanted Azalea to return to her pack, and bemoan the name Darksidy.

OOC: apologies Hun!! I tried to explain it but I think maybe I was confused on the Kalypso's positioning and that's what threw mine off and is making it hard to understand??? lol We'll work it out! ....... If I am still not understanding the positioning, I am sorrryyyy (I guess I just don't comprehend things lol)

IC: Her fangs made purchase, landing in flesh but finding no hold there. Still the rush of blood left an explosion of iron flavoring on her tongue. Her chin brushed with crimson as her jaws came close, no skin within her grasp but instead falling away as Azalea's head pulled back. She needed to guard her throat, no rules had been given making this fight very much unlike that with her brother. How could she know what level this rogue would play at?

Suddenly her nose was covered, a lack of oxygen taking hold as her head was shoved backwards. Again she was being rammed into, only this time her attacker would be successful. Last minute decisions had Azalea dropping down to the ground. She Threw herself forward, shaking her head as she did. Her shoulders were scrunched up in this position, ears back and neck out straight. She had managed to get under the wolf (behind the fore legs and in front of the hind legs), trying to get to the other side but her progress was slowed. A shrill yelp left her lips as teeth pierced her back without delicacy. She could feel the pressure, the teeth brushing along her spine, placed roughly six inches from the end of her shoulders. This caused her to do an inverted arch, her front legs flailing for the ground before her as she managed to get the grip in the soil that she needed to heave herself out from under the wolf. Fur brushed against the other's belly.

Azalea was hardly on all fours again before she whipped around, pivoting not quite standing at her fullest. Ears had moved forward but now they rushed back, her tail rode between her legs. As her jaws parted her eyes would squint, legs setting to give her better balance here. Her head tipped on approach, to the right so her head was near sideways. The target was near now, just inches away, the front right leg. She would attempt to set her teeth into it, to mutilate the limb on its upper half where there was more muscle to be had. Her fur was on end as the point of impact neared though if it were from the pain that spiked down her back or for defense was unknown.

2/3

Defenses: head pulling back to protect her neck again (at the start), ears back, eyes slits, tail between legs, fur on end.

Attack: Attempting to grab and mutilate the upper light foreleg

Injuries: Bite wounds to the back about 6 inches from her shoulder blades
