Inu Island

Kuroki was in a scrappy mood and had fighting words dancing on the tip of his tongue. He stomped along, looking for someone, anyone to have a spar with but try as he might no one was in sight. Take was away doing...silent things no doubt. Ike was probably tripping over herself somewhere. Iki was no doubt counting for her strange little reasons. And Kit...well Kuroki had no clue where she was but it was a thread of curiosity he was quick to tug upon and he soon found himself bounding along through the snow, narrowing in on the flame of her coat. As if she could hide from him looking like that, all dark and dire against the white of the world.

"HYAH!" He roared as he instigated the battle-nothing new there- and lunged forward to grab a mouthful of her thick winter fluff.

So much to see, so much to learn! She wanted to uncover every secret of the pack, dig her nose into every nook and cranny. No one could hide anything from her! She was investigating a funny looking little burrow hidden beneath a big island tree. She was just about to stick her head into the hole to see what was in there. Luckily, she hadn’t gotten that far yet. She saw a shadow on the ground beside her, an incoming shape as Kuroki suddenly appeared from the trees and lunged at her.

She shot to the side, but not fast enough! He grabbed a mouthful of shoulder fluff in his teeth. She kicked out at him with her back legs. It was on! And turned her head to the side just enough to face his. Then, she attempted to knock her head against his with her little antler nubs.

His teeth pinched against the dark fluff of her coat as he dug his paws in an attempted to lift her off her paws, maybe even swing her about a bit. But yeah, he really overestimated his strength or maybe underestimated just how light she was cause all his efforts earned him was a crick neck. He had barely budged her and rather than sitting idly by as he'd sort of assumed she was she took the moment to ram her head into his shoulder, loosening his grip on her. He let out a winded oof and winched but managed to hold on tight as he raised a paw to bat at her face, as though to say shoo shoo. Their fighting techniques left a lot to be desired, a far cry from the methods their Father was currently teaching them but it was all fine, wasn't like they were trying to do any real harm anyway. Just puppy things.

She squeaked as her brother used his greater height and weight in an attempt to pull her right off her paws. Luckily, her strike knocked any thoughts of that out of his head. Kit was determined to win, even if it had been an impromptu little spar. She was the type to dig her heels in, and not give up easily.

He raised a paw at her and she struck out, hampered by his teeth in her shoulder, and tried to snag an offending paw. Letting out a little hurrumph! as she did so. She’d teach him for not taking her seriously!

Kuroki was quick to learn that whilst his sister's were small they were still mighty! That if he was gonna make a serious thing out of sparring with them then he'd have to put some more effort in, train hard and fast and be the best of the best! Like his Father, who supposedly hadn't lost a single fight in the history of ever! Kit grabbed a hold of his reaching paw and chomped down on it, enough to get her message across. Kuroki liked to fight and play a little rough with his siblings but he wasn't a bully by any stretch of the word, if Kit was telling him she'd had enough then he heard her loud and clear. Message received. With a flair for the dramatic Kuroki URKED loudly as though mortally wounded, he pulled his paw back and made a big show of being unable to put weight on it and soon collapsed to the ground with a exhausted wheeze.

His eyes fluttered closed, as though keeping them open was a mighty struggle as he looked up at the fire of his sister.

"Kit..."

Kit stifled a snicker as her brother decided to take on a flair for the dramatics. She knew his wounds weren’t bad. For one, there wasn’t even blood. Baba hadn’t taught her much yet, but she was pretty sure she was right about that. She watched him stagger about for a moment, and fall to the ground.

Perfect.

She stepped over to him, before planting a paw on his chest, and then, with a little hop, jumped fully onto her brother. She pressed her paws down on his forehead in a big stretch, and sniffed his horn-lumps. “I’m going to make a necklace out of your bones. My first kill! Puppa will be so proud” she teased her ‘dead’ brother’

Kuroki struggled to bite back his giggle snort as his sister clambered atop of him, paws squishing against his ribs and his cheek. A dark eye flickered open, barely visible against the swath of his coat, as he shot her a displeased look. Stepping all over him seemed like fair game, it was something he'd always let his little sisters do but did she have to step on his face too? At least she didn't have her claws out, that would no doubt sting like heck. He was quick to close his eye again when he saw the black of her nose approach to sniff and snuff at his little horn nubs and so of course for the continued drama his tongue rolled out of his mouth. Limp and lifeless and maybe a little cold...

And then he started twitching, erratically, as though something supernatural had come over him! OOOOOOHHH!!!!

She bit back a snicker as Kuroki’s tongue fell out of his mouth. He could be such a drama baby sometimes. He was definitely doing his best to look dead, and even her not so subtle teasing wasn’t shaking him out of it. Maybe she should shake his little horn nubs like she was trying to pull them free…

She was just starting to consider kneading her claws into his forehead when he started to shake.

She squeaked in surprise, and this time her claws were completely involuntary. Flicking out and digging into her brother's coat in reflex as she fought to keep her balance. Why was he twitching? Was he teasing? Was he okay?
