Well, he had succeeded in grabbing one of her hind legs, though as he attempted to pull her off, she dug in even more. He winced and growled in pain same as her, though now it seemed he had another damn opponent in the form of what he assumed was the tiny banshees companion. Dammit! It seemed everyone had one these days! Reluctant to let go of his attacker, but also reluctant to get his face cut up again, he relinquished his hold and instead, turned himself around in an effort to put the little banshee in the path of her companions claws instead. It was just a quick little gimmick, however, because an idea suddenly struck him. He moved as quickly as he could and as silly as he might look to any would be onlookers, Zagan began to shake and buck his body like he'd seen horses do in an attempt to jar, disorient, and shake the weird cat-clawed, porcupine kid off of him. While yes, he could probably try for another bite, he wasn't really thrilled about those claws so he did his best bronco act he possibly could to try and shake her off.

Eligos faced the boy, and as his palms struck the armor, he sought to slide his long toes around the edge of the armor and grip, going into Eligos’ shove with a sudden drive backward with his hind legs, tail flicking down, soot blustering away on the whipping wind, hoping to drag the man by his armor into a headlong tumble, even if it technically put him on his back and at a disadvantage. Though Caelia believed in herself without question, that didn't mean she'd win every fight. Though proud, perhaps overly so at times, she knew she wasn't perfect and she had much to learn. She hadn't completely expected her win but when she came out clearly victorious she quietly applauded herself, glad to give a good show of force to her opponent from Aerie. Taking a moment to catch her breath and straighten herself out, she cast a good look around at those who remained. Her eyes settled on Zagan, who was larger than her and more heavily built but looked to be her age. Of course that wasn't a clear indicator that he'd be a good match but it was all she had, so she had to run with it.

She headed his direction, catching his eye before initiating. In a raid with real stakes she had no doubt everyone would be even more on edge, but she didn't want to try to fight dirty this time. No need for it when she only wanted to improve her skills. Setting her defenses, lowering her core and flattening her ears, she charged Zagan. She hoped her agility might prove to be an asset to her against this larger male, first diving straight toward him - and then at the last second, shifting to her left and swinging her hindquarters around sharply, aiming to part her jaws and bring them down around the side of his neck in a bite.

He had managed to shake off the little spiked hellion, much to his relief. Her sharper claws hurt like hell, and her quills would have certainly given him some more trouble had she been able to get in a position to stick him with them. He took a moment to catch his breath after the little wild ride he'd given her, though he kept his attention on those around him. He caught sight of the fight between his cousin and one of Valhalla's fighters, watching as Proserpina fell away from her opponent and accepting defeat. Her opponent turned to him, the pair catching each other's eye before the Valhallan female started to head his way.

He shook himself for a moment, allowing himself a moment to relax as he waited for her to get closer. As she dove towards him and swung her hips away, he was mildly surprised, though he rolled with the punch. He coiled his hind legs and sprung forward like a snake ready to strike, causing Caelia's bite to hit his shoulder instead of his neck, though he kept his momentum going as he copied her earlier movement. He swung his hips away from her so they were facing each other before he sought to charge at her and use the bulk of his chest in an attempt to bulldoze her to the ground.

Skælingr chuckled as his wife bumped his shoulder. "Now, now, it's not a competition." Still, he was very pleased with his showing. Both he and Ragna had hungered to prove themselves in battle and the raid had presented an excellent opportunity for the duo to show off their skills. Fighting such a beast solo was a bad idea… but if he won there was no way Ragna could say she outperformed him even if she did win her fight. The first passes went well enough, though the blood pounded in his ears from the perpetual headache and the aches in his joints made his usual fluid motion stiff. In the end he wasn't quite certain what happened, but the brow of his head - capped in what should have been safety with his helmet safely if too snugly upon his head - slammed into something. The ground? Ardyn? One of the malinois? Whatever it was, instead of a cushioned impact, there was a sharp burning pain that whited everything out for a moment, and when his vision returned it was to pain on his brow and blood sheeting down his face from beneath the helmet. The steady dripping quickly stained the snow between he and Ardyn vermillion, and as he dazedly shook his head to clear it more dark droplets splattered them both. He grunted. "Something's... wrong." He blinked, squinted through the pain, a drunken slur to his voice. He forced focus into his gaze, gave the boy a curt nod in forfeit, and stumbled from the churned and bloodied grounds they'd been fighting on to make his way Aerie's healers to see what, exactly, had happened to him.

With one opponent down, Taliesyn had taken the moment to observe the skirmish, squinting against the driving snow and wind. He was quick to spot the man heading for him, and as the wolf dove for his hock, Taliesyn lifted his right hind hoof, threatening to kick. The Aerien’s teeth found no flesh, only the thick, mud caked feathering around Taliesyn’s lower leg, and in the breath of contact, the stallion loaded the barrels and shot his hind feet back toward the man, though he aimed his best to send the hooves flying over the wolf’s head instead of clocking him, though his power was held in check. If he struck, he’d hopefully only bruise and send the man rolling. His hind feet were quick to return to the ground, regardless of contact as he pivoted on his hocks to put the wolf at his front end rather than his hind end. Skælingr's fangs missed as the stallion reared on his front legs. Skæ gauged his timing and swiftly ducked as the horse kicked, its hooves sailing easily over his head.
