They were gone. They were all gone. Each of her brothers had packed up and left. This left a lot of nasty feelings to bubble up within the young woman. What did you do when filled with such negativity? You killed something. Aslatiel had fought and murdered a somewhat thin looking pig in the mangroves. She imagined all of the animals acclimated to warm climates were wasting away. Perhaps it was merciful to kill the pig, but Aslatiel didn't care either way. She ripped open its belly, spilling its intestines, and saw how far it ran before it fell and died. The pig didn't make it far. Once it was dead, the young Reaper used her cat claws to shred the beast to a pulp. By the end, it was barely recognizable as having ever been a pig. It simply looked like a pile of pounded meat.

There was still anger within her. Killing the pig had tamped the flames down to embers, but it was at risk of consuming something flammable and turning into a raging inferno at any moment. So many feelings ran through the girl. Disgust, hurt, anger, sadness... she felt as though she had been betrayed, not once, but three times. By three of the wolves that she held closest in the world. Seating herself at the edge of the frozen waters, the blood soaked girl growled and slammed her paw through the ice.

The scent of blood caught his attention. He angled his patrol to move through the plains, and found his daughter. She was hitting the frozen ice with her paw, blood of the pig soaking her coat, and storms in her eyes.

Wordlessly, the Warlord walked up to his star-touched daughter and kissed her dirty brow. He stood over her for a moment, and then let out a soft sigh. Digging into the snow near the water, he found the dried weeds he knew would be around, and dipped it into the hole she had created on the surface of the water. Using that, he began to slowly and methodically clean her coat. He knew his daughter would speak to him when and if she was good and ready to.

Approaching paws didn't even make the girl turn. She didn't care who was coming for her, but only those that held sway over her might be allowed to stay. Funnily enough, her father was the wolf that showed himself. She'd have sent anyone else away. Sirius kissed her brow and a little of the ire faded away. The young Reaper allowed her father to cleans the blood from her cream and grey coat.

She sat there silently for a while, but the young Fatalis eventually began to speak. "I'm angry," she stated the obvious. "Azure, Mortis and Indigo are all gone. I'm the only one left. The only one that stayed." Raising one paw, Aslatiel kneaded the area between her brows, the frustration clear on her features. "What am I even doing any of this for if they aren't here?" Lips peeled back from pristine white teeth and she wrinkled her nose. "And then Mort and Az get to come back and be the heirs? What have they even done? I'm here fighting for the pack and they're off being selfish." It was obvious that she'd held these thoughts in for a while.

Sirius sighed softly. He was mightily unhappy with both Mortis and Azure, and Indigo’s choice to leave had torn at him. He understood where she was coming from. They were supposed to be a family, they were supposed to stick together. It was what he wanted. It was Asla who stood before him, being the wolf he could lean on to help him run this pack.

He did not want to discourage discourse, through nor did he want to belittle the aid Asla had been to him. “If you weren’t here, I think your old man would give up the throne. You’re my steady pillar Asla. You reached for Reaper at my request, and more than earned your position. You’ve done a crazy amount of growing in the past few months.” He kissed her nose gently. Even though it was a serious matter, he couldn’t help himself. He loved his daughter.

”Well, let me let you in on a little secret - girls mature and grow faster than boys. You seem comfortable in your skin. Indy, Mortis, Azure? They seem lost, like they have a lot to learn. They are out there right now trying to understand each other. I hope they do so soon and come back to us. I hope for that even with Indy. I don’t want to shake up the foundations of the pack yet Asla, but then so long as my family is here I don’t intend to give up the throne for many, many years. The matter of Heirs can be settled between the four of you when you are all back here. If something happens to me and your mother before then Asla, then I promise you - the pack is yours. Then, it’ll be your choice if your brothers ever have power within this pack. But I hope you know the four of you leading and leaning on each other is my greatest hope for the future.” It was a lot for the Warlord to say, but this was important. She was hooked on the idea of Heir, but she was already ranked higher than any of her brothers. She was already leading, when to the boys it had only ever been an idea.
