Wherever You Stray, I Follow

The stocky wolf's paws hit the black sand just as another wave propelled the ice he'd been floating on forward. It grated against the sand and the aging striped man jumped from the ice before he became unsteady due to the motion. Orange eyes surveyed the land with a calculated intensity as he took in his surroundings. His face was passive as the bitter winds whipped against his muscled form and tore right through his thin coat. If they bothered him he certainly wasn't going to be the one to show it. These lands were far from different from the war ravaged place he'd come from. Their group has come in search of new lands, but at a first glance the spartan was not impressed. If the color was what lie before them then he would rise to meet the challenge, but this was far from what he expected. He shuffled his paws against the black sand and drug it between his white toes. He then glanced back at the sea he'd left behind and snorted. On his travel here his red war paint had washed free leaving him just as naked as he was sure the natives here would be. He would have to look into acquiring more, but in the mean time he had other matters to attend for. He made no moves to slink like an outsider across the beach, but instead strode with purpose with his head high. Ears flicked around on high alert, but otherwise he remained unbothered. He couldn't smell Odyssia, but he was positive he wouldn't be able to track her down until he got further inland. She had been here for a lot longer than his measly few minutes. It would take him time, but he had every intention of making that his number one priority right now. Not only for the tasks they had ahead of them, but partially because the man missed the woman. They had grown close in the time they had been together. His side felt empty without the albino woman next to it. He just needed to get the lay of the land and then he'd be away from this beach. Maybe he'd even find a native to get some intel from. Walk, "Talk" Think |

He was on the move again. Tracking small herds of caribou here and there, as well as some...gargantuan creatures he'd seen around. They were like elephants, but bigger. More massive. They weren't hard to find, and once he found a track and discovered where they were, he made a mental note to return to them later. For now, he focused his attention on the game trails, and so far, the trails led him towards the black sands of Soul Sand Cove. They were moving along the coast, likely trying to stay away from the giant dire wolves he'd been seeing, too. They hadn't tried to get too close to Incendium just yet, but he kept track of where they'd been passing in the surrounding lands if only to make sure they weren't making a beeline for the pack. Especially with two litters of young pups living there. He had his nose to the ground, the trail of game bird he had picked up getting stronger. Though when he looked up to see if he could see them, he spotted something else. A wolf walking along the beach. A stranger for sure. His hackles bristled for a moment, but then he quickly realized that this wolf wasn't one of the dire wolves. He looked smaller than himself even, so he didn't feel too threatened by his presence. The stranger looked a little waterlogged, though perhaps that was just from walking along the coast. Curious, Ignis moved to stand in the open to watch him. No doubt the stranger would see him with his bright red coat. |

The man hadn't been walking for very long when he felt an eerie feeling. The hairs rose along his spine and orange eyes scanned the landscape around him to see what had caused the uneasiness. It was the feeling of something, or someone, watching him. It didn't take very long to search either. He came to a halt 20 feet from the stranger as he turned to look at the giant red beast in front of him. He was accustomed to wolves this size, but the vibrant red that covered the younger male's coat was quite unnatural. It was like he had covered his entire body in the red war paint his family adorned their warriors with. The brindled man studied the wolf quietly for a moment. He didn't quite appreciate being stared at, but other than staring at him it wasn't as though the other had offended him. He supposed it was just a gut feeling to be wary. "Greetings stranger." He said with a slight dip of his head. He wasn't here to make fights, but he had no idea how a native would react to the Spartan's presence on these lands. "I'm looking for an albino woman." He stated bluntly. He had no use for the man except for information and perhaps directions. Past that, small talk wasn't his strong suit. "She's about as tall as you, and goes by the name Odyssa, though she used to be called Okami. Have you seen her?" Walk, "Talk" Think |

"Greetings stranger." The brindled man acknowledged him with a dip of his head, though Ignis remained here he was but relaxed his body just a bit to show he wasn't here to threaten or harm him without provocation. He returned the greeting with a nod of his own, though so far, he remained quiet as he curiously looked on at the man. It wouldn't take long before the male spoke, however. "I'm looking for an albino woman." He raised a brow. There were likely a lot of albinos roaming around Boreas, and just before he was about to comment on that, the brindled male elaborated a bit more. "She's about as tall as you, and goes by the name Odyssia, though she used to be called Okami. Have you seen her?" At first, he didn't recognize who he was talking about until he heard "Okami." His ears perked up almost instantly when he heard the latter name. Now that name he knew. It was one of the daughters Avalon always talked about, and it was the albino woman that had been to Incendium not too long ago to visit the graves of her parents. "I do know an Okami. She wears red paint on her fur. Blue eyes. She came to visit not too long ago. Her mother was Avalon Ancora. Is that the same one?" He asked. It likely was, but he supposed there was always a chance of someone similar bearing the same name, even if those chances were slim. |

Olysseus was glad he'd elaborated on who he was looking for. While albinism wasn't exactly an every day condition, he imagined there were still quite a few albinos running around. Ignis' raised eyebrow only confirmed that thought. His vibrant gaze stayed locked in on Ignis' facial features as he looked for any form of recognition. If he didn't know then Olys would be prepared to go on his way without bothering the man any further. He hadn't expected the wolf to actually know her. His eyes widened slightly as he stated he did know a wolf who went by the name Okami. Red paint on her fur. Mother named Avalon Ancora. It all checked out. How many wolves had the last name Ancora around her and wore red wore paint and was named Okami? Couldn't be too many other than her. Excitement coursed through him at the thought of seeing his best friend once again. It hadn't been too long since they'd separated, but she'd left a hole in her absence that he couldn't quite seem to fill. "Yes that's her." His voice did not betray the excitement he felt. "Do you have an idea where she might have headed after visiting you?" Walk, "Talk" Think |
