There had been strange creatures abound, but it seemed like many of them were returning to the Ice Bridge. At least, that's the direction in which many of them seemed to be headed, and he was curious to know if they were returning home, or simply wandering the Northlands. Ignis tracked some of them to the Ice Bridge, a small herd of small horses that were just slightly bigger than he was (Equus Lambei). They didn't look like many of the horses he'd seen before, so these ones had likely come from across the water as well. He approached a rise that overlooked the water and the bridge that sat on it, the horses milling about the mouth of the Bridge as they appeared to hesitate in taking a step further. Or perhaps they were taking a rest before the long trek back to wherever they came from? He studied them for a while, the crimson alpha lying low so as not to unnerve them so much should the wind decide to brush his scent towards them. His Cockatoo flew on ahead, getting a better and closer look than he could from his vantage point. After a few minutes, the bird returned and landed beside him. "Oi mate, one of them looks to be injured. A broken foot or some such. It may not make the journey back across if that's where they're goin' eh? If ye want one, now might be the time, mate." Ignis turned his attention back to the small herd as he searched for the one his companion mentioned and soon enough, he had spotted it. "We'll wait just a little bit longer. Let them relax and settle down, then we'll go in to surprise them." He settled in, keeping his eyes on them as he prepared to watch and wait.

Vulcan was curious to see where his father was going to, what he was going to do, and as bold as he always was he just walked out. He just followed him even if he wasn't asked to, or even if he wasn't invited to join. He walked behind his father, eyes cold but curious. His black and red-figure outstood in the snow and ice around him. His father was also followed by his companions and as they all stopped, he aimed to do so as well. Crouching by his father's left side. "What that?" He asked lowly, between whispers. And Vulcan wasn't going to back down, even if his own father said so. He would never let anyone tell him what he could or couldn't do or be. |

"Talk" Walk He'd been focused on the horses that he hadn't noticed his son had decided to join them. "What's that?" He turned to find his boy on his left, surprise clear on his face. How the hell had they not realized he was following them? He cursed himself. They'd been too focused on tracking, but well...he supposed he couldn't be mad about it. "Some kind of horse. Likely one that came from across the ice." Gaze briefly turned to the horses before turning to Vulcan, the crimson alpha fixing the boy with a stern look. "You know it's not safe to come out on your own, but...you did track us pretty well. I'm not gonna get mad at you, I did the same sort of thing when I was young, too." He offered a small smile and a quick nudge to Vulcan's shoulder before turned his attention back to the horses. They looked like they were still unsure if they wanted to cross, and Ignis started to formulate a sort of plan. "Vulcan, would you like to help me hunt one or two of those? You can have a pelt from one if you want," He offered a playful smirk. He doubted Vulcan would refuse the offer, but he wanted his son to be sure that he wanted to help out. Secretly though, Ig was glad it wasn't a more dangerous creature they were hunting. WC: 668/1500 |

Vulcan was silent, not wanting to mess up with the hunt his father was starting, this would be his very first real hunt. And as such he wanted to learn all he could from this one. "Some kind of horse. Likely one that came from across the ice." He nodded with his tiny body crouching beside his father. He wondered how a horse would taste, as at this moment of his life his diet hasn't been to an extent. He almost retreated himself as his father reprimanded him for being out here. But he wasn't going to back down, he was stubborn and at this age, that part of him was just starting to reveal itself. He didn't know how to know if it was bad or not, he just had that. He was ready, and he could feel his heart pounding fast, under the expectative of how would it go. "I'll help you." That was all he said after the question his father made. He was ready to do whatever he was told, to do his best. He saw his father as a model, as the guide of who he wanted to be. He didn't know his father's full spectrum but at this age, his father was his hero, and whatever he went or do he wanted to be there to learn. WC- 223 |
