Lukina worked her way into the center of the battlefield, again under the guidance of her older cousin who trailed behind. It was becoming a routine now for them to eat breakfast and then once the meal had settled to head to the battlefield for training. Lukina found a good patch of short grass that was lightly covered in frost. There were patches of snow here and there but she hoped she found a spot that was far enough from the snow that neither she nor her opponent would need to go bounding through it. Sure she'd need to learn to fight on different terrain eventually but she was still working on her basics. Tipping back her head she howled for an opponent.

After all their lessons, Ignis still had yet to subject them to any sparring or any actual fighting. Sure, she tussled with her siblings, but it wasn't the same for her. She wanted to practice and become a master as soon as she possible could. Of course she wouldn't have the height or weight advantage of her siblings, but that only improved her resolve. She wanted to figure out how to spar and use her own skills to win. She couldn't do that if she didn't have someone to teach her. She'd heard talk from one of the adults in the pack about a battlefield that challenges happened at. Maybe should could find someone to teach her there. So she'd snuck away from the pack towards this battlefield. As she neared she heard another young wolf give out a call and she happily bounded towards the other female. Yes! This was exactly what she wanted. A pale young wolf came into view and, if Cinder had to guess, she looked to be about the same age as her. Even better! It wouldn't have been very fair to fight an adult, but she probably would have tried. "I'm Cinder Praetor." She greeted. "Did you want to spar?" Walk, "Talk" Think

Sitting still and waiting was difficult for Lukina. She bounced her back right leg as she waiting for someone to answer, trying to ignore her nerves again. Rœkia was watching from a little ways away and still hadn't seemed very impressed by the girls efforts. If she could just get a solid win. She blinked as she saw something red approaching her. To her surprise it was another pup about her age. Tail wagging she chirped out a greeting. "Hi! I'm Lukina and I'd love to!" She squared off against the girl and set her defenses, her little hackles standing on end as she pinned her ears and tucked her tail.

Her butt wiggled in excitement before she bounded toward the other girl. As she got closer she slipped slightly to her left as she aimed her head upward slightly. Lukina was aiming to rotate her head just enough so that she could catch Cinder's right ear, well what she could reach of it, between her little puppy fangs.

Cinder didn't really know the first thing about an actual spar. She'd tussled with her siblings, but she was positive it wasn't the same. She would at least pretend she knew what she was doing if only to try to turn fake confidence into something tangible. At the very least maybe it would make the other pup think she knew what she was doing too and not take too much advantage of her inexperience. She nodded at the other pup's enthusiasm and decided to mimic the other girl as she flattened her ears and raised her hackles as well. She thought she was prepared, but she absolutely was not when Lukina rushed her and slipped to her right. Before she knew it the girl was coming for her ear. She jerked her head away from the pup's teeth on an instinctual reaction and instead Lukina's teeth barely scraped against the skin of her cheek. Trying to compose herself and not be a disappointment, she titled her head towards her left at and angle and sought to bite at Lukina's cheek. She was aiming to get a good grip on her head so she could control her movements like she often did with her larger siblings. She also raised her right paw to try and wrap around the front of the woman's neck to constrict her movements and maybe throw her off balance. The other girl slipped to the side and Lukina's fangs missed the girls ear and instead grazed her cheek. Oh poop! She missed! Lukina flailed a bit as she tried to stay upright, both her arms flying out to try and wrap around the other girls neck. In doing so she accidentally moved her right shoulder up in like with the other pups jaws and as such her opponent's jaws would latch hold of her shoulder rather than her cheek. She could also feel the crimson girl's right arm wrap around the base of her neck. Her hind legs spread and her tail fanned out as she tried to stay upright. Maybe it would've been better to be on all fours but now that she was up she wasn't entirely sure how to get down without falling over.

Well she'd missed her head entirely, but she was feeling pleased that she'd managed to land a bite in at all. Her arm wrapped around the base of the other girls neck, but Lukina's did the same as they did this weird entanglement thing that she couldn't even begin to explain. It seemed as though they were going to use each other for balance. A wicked idea ran through her head and she smirked slightly to herself as she tried to let her weight fall to her left using the paw she had wrapped around Lukina's neck to drag her down with her! It'd be like a weird, puppy, domino effect. It might not let her win, but if she was going to go down then the other girl could too!
