Shuriken wore her classic Klein smirk as she approached the ring, of course she couldn’t make it all the way there without tripping subtly over her own paws the whole way and then nearly falling on her face when she stepped into the circle with her brother. She noticed quite a few sibling pair ups but she wasn’t so upset, of anyone she’d have wanted to fight Oki the most. She knew him well, and knew that she would feel the least bad about stuffing the whole thing up in front of him instead of a stranger. She’d beat him in spars before, but she honestly thought him a much much better fighter. He had better control of his limbs and had more practice than she did.

Still, the young princess held her head high. There was only the hint of bumps on her skull where antlers were going to erupt. Ike had no idea that her natural weapons would be much different from her sibling’s. When she grinned at Kuroki, while trying to ignore the crowd, her koi like whiskers wiggled and her dual toned eyes shone. There wasn’t much more warning than that before Kiyohime leapt towards her brother, looking and feeling much more confident than she truly was.

Ike aimed to head butt her brother, rearing up on her hind legs much like a young goat kid as she aimed to bring her head crashing against his in her show of dominance. The young princess didn’t actually thing she would win this, but her smile made it obvious that she was having fun.

Kuroki ignored the weight of the crowds gaze as he stepped into the ring. His ears picked up on the hushed murmurs, of onlookers placing their bets and wagers as they guessed who'd win. Maybe it should have irked him that some were betting against his favour, but even now not much got beneath Kuroki's skin. He had enough to get pissy about and he wasn't gonna make a scuffle with his little(ish) sister personal, they'd sparred before and no matter the outcome they'd always be close. As siblings well and truly ought to be. Kuroki couldn't choose his father, but he'd choose his sisters and brother time and time again.

Offering her a Klein-ish smirk in return, Kuroki spread his gait and with a sweep of his paw gestured she make the first move. And that Ike did.

She reared up onto her hind legs to give him a solid bonk to his head and Kuroki grinned as he stepped up to meet her strike. It might have been smarter to dip aside and let her stumble with the momentum, but where was the fun in that? He rose up to the occasion, neck muscles taut as he went to give her a solid headbut too.

Her brother looked so brave and dashing as he took his place across from here on the circle. His expression mirrored her own, and she thought that perhaps the two of them were on top of the world. They had the entire Empire gathered to watch the two of them fight right now. Shuriken was a clumsy child, she didn’t have near the regal air of her mother, brother, and especially their sister. She wanted to put on a show for everyone watching, and impress the droves with her and her brother’s impeccable breeding.

Like the horned creatures they received their similar appendages from both pups began with an incredible headbutt. The pair of them collided with a huge crash and Kiyohime slammed her skull against Kuroki’s. She felt the shockwave echo through her small form and for a moment she was stunned as she back up slightly after finding her paws again. She shook herself slightly but the fight was far from over yet.

Kiyohime went after her brother again, keeping up with the theme, instead of an attack from above she crouched and aimed to driver her tiny antlers into Oki’s chest.

Kuroki let out a muffled oof as he thunked into his sister, the little nubs of her horns poking into the line of his muzzle. By now he was used to being poked and prodded by all sorts of appendages, his siblings were littered with mutations and he found them to be the normal. Those without were a bit of an oddity in his eyes, lacking in ways he was not. Whether it was a koi or an Abraxas thing didn't really matter in his eyes, blessings from Gods or Kami seemed more and more like fairy tales with each passing day. Scepticism was setting in fast and Kuroki didn't really care or mind, he liked stories well enough and would listen all the same. Probably.

Shaking off the thrumming in his head, he watched his sister ready herself once again and this time he kicked out of the way, twisting mid-dodge to take a nip at her dangly koi-whiskers. He probably ought to be more careful as he didn't want to hurt her, but they were such a tempting target and his sabres ached to be part of the action.

Unlike her brother Kiyohime held tightly to her innocence and naivety. She was a smart little cookie but remained a child like puppy. The princess believed her attributes were not just from her mother and father, though her talons from Hattori and Quills from Venom were more obvious. Like her coloring, she inherited them. She couldn’t explain her horns or whiskers though, touched by some being of greater force than she. How else could they explain her similar appearance to the dragons of old. Which totally existed and couldn’t just be legends.

In this battle her whiskers were used against her, the young princess barely withheld a loud squeal as the long peach fuzz appendage was nipped, gently enough not to threaten getting bitten off, and pulled. ”I yield!” The pain was obvious in her voice but she had refused to let him get a squeak from her. ”You’ve bested me, brother.” She relented, squeezing her eyes shut and hoping he would make a quick release.

Kuroki's teeth snatched at her whiskers, he felt her stiffen up and pull away. Would she try to ward him off? He tensed, ready for her retaliation but none came. Was that it? It seemed so, and worse yet she sounded as though she was in pain. That hadn't been his intention at all, squabbles between his siblings were just harmless fun. No one would ever bleed if Kuroki could help it. Yeah, he threw his weight around but wasn't that his duty as a big brother?

"Oop." Kuroki was quick to let go, only to puff up big and tall-as much as he could manage anyway- when the weight of her words sunk in. "HA! Got you!" He cheered in his native tongue, in a sort of nya nya nya, smug victory tone.  He felt the lingering gaze of his Father, he'd been watching most of the fights, sizing them up and coming to his own judgy conclusions no doubt. Kuroki paid him no heed.  "Better luck next time."
