Indigo carefully made his way towards the Armada, it was his first destination after officially calling together his band. After everything he wanted to see the pride in his father’s eyes. He had never been chosen to lead but here he was gathering up wolves that he felt connected to. They were going to collect herbs from all over the continent and they were going to make a trading route. They were going to pack their goats and see the world together. This timeline was not the one he ever expected to experience but Indigo never felt so at home in his own skin than the last few weeks out here with his band in tow. He was in his element, and he loved it.
None of them would truly forget their pasts though, some were more horrific than others but that was what brought them all together. They knew misery and sorrow and they didn’t want the others ot feel the emotion any more. It was heartwarming, at least for the maned man. He’d eventually get to see Aslatiel and really meet his niece and nephew. He’d been waiting to return (besides the festival) after they were officially broken off from the Hallows as the Nomad band.
Indigo made his way to the border of the Armada, his head high as he called for his father as the leader of a band. This was now official business.

The official call in a familiar voice came as a shocked surprise to the Warlord. It was the call of another leader, in the voice of his son. The man had skirted around him during Aslas birthing, and he had put down the lack of greeting to heartache. But here, now, he called to Sirius with the voice of authority.
He dropped what he was doing instantly and trotted down to meet his healer-child. He hadnt liked letting him go in the first place, but he wanted very much to know what path he made for himself now.
He found his boy at the border, standing tall, authority on his shoulders. He looked... different, from the sad child that had left his pack. "Indigo, my boy" he said softly, coming to a stop a short distance from him. "What have you created?" He had the scent of many om his coat.

Sirius looked different now too. Indigo wasn’t a young boy anymore, he looked his father in the eye now. He was heavier and looked bigger because of the huge mane that covered his neck and chest, and yet the massive warrior still made the young leader feel like he was a boy. Resin taught him what she could, but he had been too late to get into the details of her training. She gave him a strong foundation and he built atop it. He lowered his head slightly in reverence, very nearly an equal to the one who raised him.
”Father,” he returned equally as soft, but his barrel like chest echoed his deep tones. He wasn’t a child any longer, he had become a man. Like his father though, Indigo gathered lost souls and those that were the most at need of help and he offered a paw up to them. All of them were beaten and broken, but they became strong as they formed the band around him. ”I’m the leader of the Nomad band.” He offered proudly, still barely able to believe he had managed to attain his goal.

He looked at the grown wolf before him and offered a small smile. He could blame this band for pulling his child further away from him, but he knew that had already happened. He wouldn't be happy in thr Armada any longer, he had forged his own future.
So the Warlord looked at Indigo, and made a decision. One that allowed him to keep a piece of thay boy with him. "I'm proud of you, Indigo. It's It's small feet to draw people together. You can consider the Armada an ally, and if you have need of initial supplies, create a list and you will see if fifulled " he promised. He stepped forward, closing that small gap between them. He reached over, and kissed his sons brow. He did not have to dip his head in the slightest to do so. He was giving the grown man his blessing.

Indigo never really believed that he would be able to return to the Armada as a full fledged member. Living beside Aslatiel and being barred from her was too much for the young man to handle. He made his own family of sorts, of wolves that weren’t quite complete anymore, just like him. His nerves flared though, as hard blue eyes fixed on him as he uttered what he needed to. Indigo forged his own path, and he didn’t have any idea how his father might react. He was nervous, he’d looked up to his father for so long.
He released a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding as Sirius told him that he was proud of him. The Armada would be an ally and Sirius would send him with any supplies he thought he might need. Indigo grinned gratefully, but remained still as the Warlord closed the distance between them and bestowed a kiss on his brow, a token of his blessing. ”Thank you, Father.” He told him softly, lowering his head in reverence once more. ”You’re too kind.”

"I am not kind, but I am your father. I'll support you where I can." He said in soft disagreement. The Warlord could be a hard wolf to love, and he didn't bend easily. His children had the most sway with him, sometimes that meant little, and other days that meant a lot. A part of him would always want to steal Indigo back, to keep him forever. Practicality continued to win over possessiveness.
"Pick your supplies with wisdom, Indigo." He said, doing what he could to guide the young leader in his new role. "Meanwhile, tell me about the Nomads. It's people and what you intend with them." He would know about his new allies and what it would mean for the Armada, and what support he could offer them.

The Warlord swiftly argued that he was not kind, and Indigo wondered where the quality had come from within him. Perhaps that was what he had taken from Zee, a deep kindness that didn’t discriminate. Indigo found his path in helping those that were closest to him, the lost souls that congregated around him. He would always love his family, they would forever be special to him, but he had created his own little family. The wolves of his band had become an essential part of his life, Indigo needed them as much or more than they needed him.
”Thank you again, either way.” Indigo didn’t argue, just offered another dip of his head. ”Ulric sent us off with a good store of food to start.” He added, mostly thinking out loud. The world was their oyster, herbs were plentiful, Duchess was an incredible hunter, what he had to think about most was what they needed that they couldn’t make for themselves on the long road. ”Bags, leathers, furs… Supplies that we might not so easily find while we travel.” Indigo thought for a moment. ”Have you started to keep livestock? Do you have any goats?” If his father could help add to his herd… Indy didn’t have a whole lot of hope they would find more of the small ungulates here.
Sirius wanted to know about his nomad band, and Indigo tried to decide how he wanted to describe their little group to his father. He thought for a moment how different he was to Seer, but also how similar. ”I think it started not long after I left for the Hallows. I met a girl named Rue and we became fast friends. The idea didn’t really form until after the attack. She was killed.” Indigo averted his gaze ashamedly. Resin hadn’t wanted him to bear the weight of her demise but Indigo still blamed himself for her death. ”I vowed to be better, I wanted to do something. I started to go on scouting missions, I didn’t know what I would do but it seemed like whenever I went out into the world I would find another lost soul. Beaten, broken, or just… lost. They found me and I knew that I needed to lead them.”
He realized he was getting long winded, but he hadn’t really talked to his father in so long. He wanted to give him as much as the full story as was appropriate. He’d keep how intimate he was with them to himself. The Nomad band is a group of lost wolves who found a home in each other. We're going to be traders and travel the world to find rare and useful herbs. Maybe one day I’d like to offer our skills in healing as well.” He quieted then, ears perking as he waited for more questions from his father.

Indigo gave it some thought, and came up with a list of what he would need. “We have surplus of these in the stores, mostly for new wolves entering the Armada, or made to teach younger wolves. How many wolves do you have, and how many will be needing these things?” there was a fine line to packing well, and taking more than you could carry. Indigo had not made a pack.
Indigo began to tell him then of a friend, and her death. He wished he could have spared his son that pain. He wasn’t sure how he felt about Indigo's band being made up of wolves injured in some way or another - would they be strong enough to defend themselves? But Indigo himself was strong, and he had found these wolves, called them his. He would protect them. Sirius could understand that, as well. “One thing Armada has always lacked is numbers in healers. I am sure what you are doing will be needed - in the Armada, and other places. That need will bring us together again, my son. I’m proud of you and what you are building.” a part of him might prefer it if his son had a band of strong wolves at his back - but sometimes you had to forge your own path, and Sirius was proud of him. He could feel it growing inside of his heart, fit to burst. By gods, but he was proud of him.
