I could teach you a thing or two

The Ademre wolf moved along the beach slowly. Autumn had always felt like the season he loved the most. With the vibrant colors of the shifting world. Leaves crunched underfoot, yellow, orange, and fading to brown. It reminded him of home in a way that ached deep in his breast.
His patrol took him down along the Ashen shore, the sounds of gulls crying in the late morning air. He needed to work on his hunting, and intended to start tracking once his patrol was ended. He yawned, chasing away the feeling of lethargy in his bones. Was that the sound of another wolf crunching through the leaves behind him? The fire marked wolf began to turn.

For the longest time Kuroki hadn't been sure what to make of the Admere wolf. He was blank and quiet, giving off even less than Hattori did and thus was rather boring. But the thing about reserved wolves was that there was always a challenge to be had, a temptation to see what made them tick. Or in other words, a chance to see if Kuroki could get a rise out of them. He knew it wouldn't be easy but he was the sort to rise to a challenge, to push and push even when he shouldn't. Lines drawn in the sand were meant to be tested, rules were meant to be broke and yadda yadda. Kuroki just didn't like to be told no, that's all.
Pacing after the fire wolf, Kuroki paused from his spot amongst the trees. Why had he stopped? From the slight tilting of his ears it seemed safe to assume that he'd been caught, that the samurai knew he was there. Ah well.
"Yo. I've seen you fight before, it's weird." Which was to say it was unlike how shinobi fought, martial arts and techniques from a distant land still somehow close to Kuroki's heart. Anything that gave him the edge over his opponents was worth learning either way. "Show me."

There he would find the quickly growing Prince, half hiding in the foliage behind him. Had the younger one been stalking him, or had Lament simply wandered across his path? His paw twitched in a smile before settling on the ground beneath him. The gesture easily mistaken as a shifting of weight.
“Very well, I would not deny a wolf that wished to learn” The Ademre said, moving closer to the younger wolf. “For my people, fighting is an art, a choreographed dance. One done only when the body is an extension of your will. For that to succeed, you must understand and remember the motions and variations, understand the patterns of the dance until you can move fluidly through them without thought.” It was more than the silent man often said, but this was the knowledge of his people. “To begin, you must practice the steps, and then translate that into fighting. Do you still wish to proceed?”

Kuroki titled his head a little. He'd heard fighting being compared to a whole lot of things, but never dancing. It was too wish-washy, almost metaphorical and thus something Hattori would never ever think of saying. Kuroki didn't share much in common with his sire, a fact he was very much proud of, but he begrudgingly admitted that he too was probably a bit more literal when it came down to stuff like this. There was no need to beat around the bush, call a spade a spade and move on. Still, if this was how Lament approached fighting there was no harm in trying to look at it from his point of view. Kuroki had asked after all, he was difficult at times but not a wish-washy pest. Mostly.
The Samurai had a way of making it sound more complicated too. There was a lot he had to learn, Kuroki was still young and inexperienced regardless of his natural talent, but he reckoned his foot work was decent. He won some and he lost some, it wasn't like all of his opponents had beaten the snot outta him.
"Yeah, o'course. Teach me the steps."He said, stomping a paw for emphasis.

The Ademre did not show his pleasure that another was taking an interest in the teaching of his peoples, but he felt it nonetheless. He inclined his head to the younger wolf. “Very well then” he agreed. “Watch closely’ and then proceed to move his body through the intricate stretches and motions of his people. Showing the limber and strength of his body.
Many of the positions he displayed became more painful the longer the pose was held, and Lament moved through it all with the slow elegance of one who had much practice. He held a pose, then released it, watching Kuroki follow the pose, and occasionally tapping a paw or knee and adjusting his placement. “These motions will also help to strengthen your body”

Rolling out his shoulders, Kuroki was prepared to give it a shot, to test the waters and see if it was something he'd be interested in pursuing. He knew the Klein ways of fighting were far removed from the Shinobi arts Hattori specialised in, so the Prince was already pretty familiar with borrowing and taking from a couple of styles. What harm could one more set do? Following suit. Kuroki began to mimic the Samurai as he began to pose, showing off his fine motor control and well-trained muscles.
Sure, Kuroki had seen his sire do a similar exercise out on the beach in the early hours of the morning but he'd always figured he was just limbering up. Not actually doing it to train. Kuroki could feel it though as he extended a limb out and held it there, his muscles complaining as the seconds dragged on and on till Kuroki let it drop.
"Ooof. Ain't comfortable at all." He grumbled as he shook off his paw, his joints complaining a little at the tension amassed there.
