After joining The Hallows, Serenity had spent more time outside than in. She spent most nights in the castle, but otherwise she tried to occupy her time outside of the pack. She tried to pitch in her share, but it was difficult for her to adjust to pack life and contributing and mostly just being social inside the walls. She still needed time to come out of her shell, she had been alone for so long. Waking up to the noises of the castle residents was alarming every morning to her. She felt like she would never get used to it. Ulric had said that the saber cats had given them quite a problem, but she hadn't seen any since the one they fought together in their first meeting and it seemed the cats were either being killed out or going back to where they came from. She still found herself prowling the area for more, since they were such a problem. She figured if anything she was out for a hunt to take back to the pack. Something to show she was trying to fit in maybe. As she walked the river of the dam, her hackles raised to the scent that was probably faded from running down the river. She picked up a trot, hoping to evade the unwelcome company, but she sensed they were still following her. She debated whether or not the book it, but she didn't want to tire herself out if she did have to fight them. Stopping in more of a clearing in the dam woods, she turned to face her stalker, revealing themselves from behind the trees and trying to look threatening to her. Three coyotes were out for her pelt, but she was big. And figured she could fend them off well enough. Walk "Talk"

Avantika had decided to patrol a bit farther out than she usually did, and before she knew it, she had crossed the border out of the Hallows' lands. She glanced back for only a moment before continuing to walk forward. It didn't mean anything; she'd be back by the end of the day like usual. A couple of steps weren't anything important. A normal person wouldn't even notice. If it was being outside of her pack's territory that was making her anxious, she'd been further from home before, at the Ashen empire's tournament. Of course, she hadn't been alone then. Still, she didn't need protectors! She was capable on her own, and she didn't have anything to fear. The border didn't mean anything. She didn't know why it felt like she was trying to convince herself of something that was logically just a fact, but regardless, she told herself to get over it and kept walking. Her nose to the air, the world became more and more curious to her. The unexplained feeling of dread slowly faded. Not much had changed. Then her observation was cut short as she came upon the scent of a nearby Hallows wolf that she didn't know, mixed with the odor of coyotes. She didn't know who the wolf was or if she needed help, but she turned her path to follow the scent, moving much faster now. There was a clearing, and standing in it was the wolf she had smelled and three coyotes. Two wolves against three coyotes. Avantika liked those odds. Of course, the stranger was an unknown variable, but at the very least, she'd be another warm body to add intimidation and help fight if she could. Avantika got in her fighting stance, tail held high for dominance, with only a short glance at the other woman and a nod in greeting. "Speech"

Soon another young woman came to her aide, Serenity looked at her with a keen smirk as she joined, barley noting their familiar scents and even just slightly younger age. "Hope you brought a fight." She seemed to have general knowledge of how to fight off coyotes, or at least general knowledge of defense and she assumed she could observe her offense here momentarily. She was grateful for the girl's help, and it wasn't the first time she was lucky enough to have someone beside her when she was in a pickle. The coyotes seemed wary at first as the two joined in numbers, but one finally stepped up and lashed out at the younger girl, maybe because she was a bit smaller but it didn't really matter. Serenity immediately came forward and latched on to the dog's withers, pushing it down with her chest and that seemed to rile up the others as they came forward to help their struggling comrade. Walk "Talk"

The other woman greeted Avantika and seemed to at least be okay with her joining the fight, but they didn't have time to chat. One of the coyotes moved to attack her, and the woman attacked it, pushing it down and causing the other two to come forward. Luckily, they were close together, and Avantika could stand so that she had both of them in her line of sight. She growled at them, trying to keep Serenity from having to fight more than one of the animals at once, but while they didn't attack immediately, they didn't back down either. She lunged at one as fast as she could, nipping at its muzzle and pulling back just as quickly. "Speech"

Serenity had hurt the coyote under her well enough to stun it, or scare it enough to where it's interest was no longer fighting back and resorting to fleeing, so when she noticed the second coyote attacking the girl, she backed off and went after the new attacking coyote. The girl got a good grip around the coyote's muzzle, so Serenity went for a grab around the small canine's hip, making the two of them far superior over it and it's two comrades were backing off and fleeing back home. When she noticed the retreat, she let go herself but didn't know what the girl had in mind. She wouldn't have stopped her from killing the creature, but she saw no reason to. She at least wouldn't have judged her if she chose to, and it would be another kill for their stores if anything. Walk "Talk"

Avantika got a grip on the coyote's muzzle, tasting blood on her teeth. She wasn't cutting deep, and the coyote would be okay once it backed off. But she did want to make sure that the animal knew to stay clear of Hallows land, and having a Hallows wolf scare and injury it a little would hopefully do that. The other wolf got her coyote stunned and came to help, grabbing its hip. The other two fled, and Avantika noticed that her packmate let go, so she did the same. She did not need to kill the smaller predator. She watched it run, then turned to the woman beside her. "My name's Avantika." she said. "Speech"

The girl let go of the coyote as Serenity did and it ran off in trail with the other coyotes. Serenity looked towards Avantika as she introduced herself, "Uh- I'm Serenity. Nice to meet you." She nodded her head gently, looking off to where the coyotes took off with a tilt in her head, "Well, maybe under different circumstances but that's okay." She chuckled lightly before shaking off her bristled pelt and turning to go back towards The Hallows, "You did pretty good for someone your age. " The girl wasn't much younger than her, she was grown into her full height and was just filling out the rest well she was reaching maturity. "Seems like you've been training really well."
