The smell of wolves in this area was strong and heavy. Growing up in her father's pack, she knew not to cross the boarders. It could mean certain death for her if this pack wasn't friendly. She tried to see if she could smell her love, Kishan, anywhere but he wasn't here. She was determined to find him. He had rescued her from her father and gotten her to safety. He was also her first love. She had been searching around aimlessly for him for two days now and hadn't seen any sign of him. She refused to think that maybe the storm had taken him. He was smart, he must have gotten himself to safety. He had to still be around, she just had to find him. He could be injured.

She stayed on the outer edges of the pack's territory, not knowing anyone here or anywhere aside from Kishan for that matter. Her small, meek frame wasn't anything to be threatened of but one never knew with strange wolves. Her violet colored eyes scanned the area, looking for something to snack on. She hadn't eaten anything since she got here four days ago. She was a quick wolf and agile too but when it came to the killing of the animal, she often hesitated and sometimes it got away from her. That was why Kishan hunted for them most of the time. He was bolder than she was. He was fearless.

There were thick trees everywhere which shaded the ground she walked on. It was in the heat of the day and Yesubai's black pelt didn't help keep her cool. Water was something she would need to find as well. She knew nothing of the land she was on, other than the smell of wolves were strong. Her tongue was dry and lolling outside of her black lips. Food and water would be essential if she were going to live. Four days without food was uncomfortable but four days without water was dangerous. (1)"Śāyada vahām̐ mēṁ pānī hai," she thought to herself while looking in at the trees in front of her. The trees had to have been getting water from somewhere? Right? The former princess hadn't had to use "survival" skills in her life. Everything she had needed had been provided for her. She knew not to enter the territory but the thought of crisp, clean, cool water in her mind made the idea seem more and more tempting.

Dainty white paws carried her swollen form along the border of her homeland. She might not have been given the duty of a scout but that didn't mean she couldn't help leave her scents on the borders. They could always use refreshing, and now that she had free time on her paws she didn't find it a problem to walk around. It was nice to get some fresh air and exercise, with her children coming in such a limited amount of time she had to keep her strength up. It had been difficult with out Cherokee to help, she'd been forced to eat from the labor of her fellow pack mates. All the more reason to pick up the slack and walk the borders.
Certainly she had not thought that her wandering would bring her to a stranger, all she had signed up for was looking at the borders, not greeting other wolves at them. The scent drifted to her first, a she wolf. It did not take long for the visual aid of the dark pelt to complete the image. She was tiny, even smaller than herself. There didn't seem much threat to go along with her presence so Song let a welcoming smile fall upon her features. "Hello, dear. What brings you to the borders of Ludicael today?" It wasn't as though she could even accept the she wolf had she been seeking acceptance. If she did she was sure a higher ranking wolf was just a call away.

It wasn't long before the scent of a specific wolf became stronger however, the scent of the pack still masked the "crisp-ness" of the scent if a scent could be described as such. Soon, the wolf came to view. It was a female and she seemed to be pregnant, or very overweight. It wasn't uncommon for pack wolves to get fat. But, it wasn't up to Yesubai to judge. This female could help her. She doubted that the stranger knew how to speak Hindi and her english was sub-par at best.

There was a friendly smile on the face of the other. As she approached further, she could see that she had two different colored eyes. She hadn't ever seen a wolf who looked like that before. But, it was rude to stare so she tried to ignore her curiosity.

Though she could not speak english well, she had a good grasp on listening to it. The medicine wolf from her father's pack spoke english to her all the time in an attempt to teach it to her. Ludicael was apparently the name of this place or the pack's name that lived here. Although the female seemed friendly enough, Yesubai knew not to trust too quickly. "Hello.....name.....Yesubai. I sorry I intrude. I....lost." Yesubai's speech wasn't great but it got her message across. She didn't make eye contact with the other wolf partially in shame and partially to not disrespect her. She had no idea what kind of rank this wolf held. "I separated....from Kishan....in storm. You.... see him? He black and golden eyes," Her voice was filled with hope that maybe this wolf had seen him, maybe he had come this way but her Indian accent was also strong. She also didn't know the word for "mate" or "love" in english so she couldn't explain to the female how important Kishan was.

Should she ask this wolf for help? She needed water and food and this wolf might know where to get some but she couldn't ask up front. She needed to see if she had seen Kishan.

She didn't let her feet step away from the border as the odd conversation began. It did not seem that pack life was what the smaller wolf searched for. Song listened patiently as the broken speech dripped from her dark lips. Her accent was one that she could nat place, and she was sure she'd never heard it before. She had to focus on the words more than she would with most wolves, it seemed she was not speaking in her native tongue.
She seemed so hopeful that Song had caught sight of the one known as "Kishan" who she assumed to be a wolf. Though lover, child or parents she could not discern. She felt terrible for not being able to pint her into the right direction. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen anyone but you." Her head shook sadly before she continued, "I'm Song by the way. Where did you come from? I've never heard your accent before." She was so curious about the small wolfess she didn't stop to think about how appropriate her questions might be.

This meeting was odd and uncomfortable for the black she-wolf. It was the first time she had spoken to another wolf who only spoke english. Back home, there were some who spoke broken english like she did but they preferred Hindi, just like her. It was certainly a learning experience.

Thankfully, the white she-wolf was patient with her as she struggled through her words. It was probably just as frustrating for her as it was for Yesubai. She wished to speak clearly but that would only come with time.

When words started to come from the lips of the other wolf, Yesubai's hopes dropped. Though she was half expecting it. She had no idea where she and Kishan had washed up. She had been wandering aimlessly for a while now and was completely lost.

The name of the she-wolf was Song. She thought it odd to be named such a thing. To name someone a word was something that wasn't done in her home place but, perhaps she was a wonderful singer? Maybe that was how wolves were named here. Song then asked about where she had come from. What was the word for(1)"Bhārata"again? She thought for a moment to come up with the english word. She knew that it sounded much different from the Hindi word. This would be so much easier if english was at least similar to her native tongue. But, after a moment of pondering, the word came. "I from India," she said in a friendly tone. She was quite pleased for remembering the word. She didn't mind the question though she would keep the part about the boat and her father out of the story from now. Yesubai was usually a very shy wolf but Song was easy to talk to and feel at ease around.

Song said that she hadn't heard her accent before. Yesubai thought that maybe Song had never heard of her country? She had no idea where this piece of land was. They could be a stone's throw from India or on the other side of the world for all she knew. Her whole life at this point was a big pot of confusion and questions and being lost. For the record however, the english accent wasn't necessarily easy to understand either. She had only ever heard English in an Indian accent.

.ooc. Sorry this is so short ><

She'd known that the reaction of defeat would be coming, the poor black she wolf seemed so disheartened at her news. Song desperately wished there was some way she would have been able to help the foreigner. She would have remembered seeing another like the one in front of her.
Though sadness still lingered it seemed the other wolf was not blind to kindness and as the answer to Song's question was brought forth so was the friendly tone. Her curiosity however was not satisfied to her preference. India was not a place she had heard of. Was it nice where you came from? She was sorry that their communication was so sketchy, but so far she enjoyed learning about this odd wolf.

Yesubai grew up in an environment where one did what they were supposed to or what was acceptable regardless of how they were feeling. So, even though she felt sad and disheartened she couldn't bring that out to let the white she-wolf see. However, there wasn't much she could do about the feeling in the air. Yesubai knew that she herself could sense it but she didn't know if Song could.

Yesubai could have guessed that her vague answer to her first question wasn't going to satisfy Song but, there had always been a hope that it would have. However, her next question wasn't overly personal so Yesubai didn't feel uncomfortable sharing about the land that she had come from. "Is beautiful. Always warm. Large pack I come from...very safe...plenty food." Yesubai replied with a smile and warmth in her voice. She didn't want to bring up the horrors that went on in the pack, pity wasn't what she was looking for. Instead, she decided to focus on the positive things that went on and happened there. Perhaps it was better that way for her in the long run to not dwell on negativity.

However, the mention of food had reminded her of how hungry she was. She would need to hunt soon. She would have to bring herself to take the life of a rabbit or something else. Kishan had always been the one who hunted for the pair. He was a better hunter than Yesubai had ever been. Growing up, all the food she had needed was always brought to her. She never went hungry before now. Of course she was taught how to hunt when she was young but rarely if ever had to put it into practice. She would need to remember and remember quickly before long or she would starve.

The setting in which Song grew up in was only a bit different than that of Yesubai's. Novel expected her to maintain certain duties, as she grew older they came with more responsibility. Her heart was filled with gratitude at the amount of time they gave to train her. If only she knew what they really thought, if only she could see them one more time. Though both she wolves lived a strict life, Song's was also full of love.
"Is beautiful. Always warm. Large pack I come from...very safe...plenty food." It sounded as though she came from a nice place, the question lingered quietly in her mind though, why would she suddenly leave? Maybe she had come to search for the missing wolf asked about earlier. Song let her tail wag slowly at the mention of such a lovely place. It sounds lovely. I wish I could help you in your search, but I don't feel my present condition would allow. She stole a quick glance at her abdomen. But if you're hungry there's a deer carcass not far down the path. I've been meaning to drag it back to the den..
