He hadn’t explored this place, but he knew Nolan was buried at the bottom of the cliff. He’d made a trinket for the late Adravendi man, and as he spotted the cairn, dusted with snow, he puffed out a sigh, glad to have found it. Gently he laid the necklace of braided hair from his own mane and tail, strung with a pendant of amber over the cairn stones, resting another stone overtop to keep the bauble in place. The glow had died long since he’d cut the hairs for the project, no longer reacting to the friction of his touch.
He hadn’t gotten very long to know Nolan, or Baine, but he’d loved them regardless. So, for a long time, he sat by the cairn, meditating on what might have been, before he sighed and rose, flexing his fingers to work the chill from the elongated digits.
In a season, he would be grown. He might even possibly become the next King. Whether he chose to keep the title of Spirit or make a change in rank naming conventions as his mother had done when she’d been made Archangel, he wasn’t certain yet.
He mulled as he climbed higher, following a narrow trail to the top of the falls and settling on his haunches, Lyr drifting to rest on his armor-clad withers, nibbling at the base of his mane before the raven settled and gazed out over the land far below.
Would he live up to the Valhallas of before? Cairo’s and Chrysanthe’s and Erani’s Valhalla? He would try his hardest, there was no doubt about that, but would he succeed?

Ardyn at first glance is as black as can be imagined with a raven sheen.
Closer inspection proves that he shimmers in fire tones in every hair on his hide right down to his lashes.
More obviously, he glows like a bed of coals and flames with every movement and brush of fur. His tail is usually wagging, so blazes like a torch.
His adult teeth are in and his saber canines have grown to their full length (see profile). His mane and tail hair have grown to full length, as well as being lightweight and easily buffeted by breezes.
A look at his front paws will give the impression of hands, with his dew claw dropped low and lengthened into a functioning thumb, and his toes elongated into fingers. He has retractable, solid black cat-like claws on every paw.
Ardyn has developed a glowing mast of intricate markings in fire and ice colors over his face, symmetrical over the last seasons of Year 17 (see profile for details). During hunts or raids/sieges, he will smudge them out with black soot to cover the glow, otherwise, they are bright enough to note at first direct glance at his face. Not all his artwork currently portrays the mask markings.
He is also often bedecked in beads, small bells, feathers in blues, ribbons and braids thanks to the Ooze Event of Halloween 2021, and the Coathanger item that he got. The accessories generally are seen most in his mane and tail hair. He removes the brighter items and bells for hunts or battle.
Jynn had bundled up for the journey north and the colder weather that would come with it. She wanted to test herself, to see how well she could withstand journeying in weather colder than she was used to. It was a rush. Night had fallen by the time she reached the Waterfall Peak. The full moon was obscured by thick bands of dark gray clouds that covered it completely, only allowing an eerie glow to filter through. From her position on one of the other mountains she could see the waterfall falling like a silver gray snake straight down from the next mountain over and into a silver pool below. The mountain itself was made of jagged gray stone with clumps of pine trees growing here and there.
She pushed on descending one mountain and then scaling the next. Her breath turning to mist as she carried on. When she arrived at the top of the falls the moon was starting its downward path and she spied a glowing young man sitting there. "Hello, enjoying the winter night?"

Pawsteps that spoke of long legs and light frame sent his ear flicking back in a flare of embers as Lyr croaked a greeting and took flight in a blur of glowing wings and fanning tail, coming to drift back to the ground on a rocky outcropping as Ardyn turned to smile at the woman.
Curiosity flickered in his mismatched eyes as he took her in. Not a wolf, but similar. His ears had been right, she had legs for days. And great ears that must have been incredibly acute. He nodded in response to her query, shrugging under his armor as he admitted, “It’s a peaceful one, for sure. You?”
Long hair flared as he rose, tail dragging the ground briefly as he stepped to the side, offering the woman a spot so she wouldn’t miss out on the view as he retook his seated position, tapping his tail in a friendly gesture.

Jynn nodded as she settled down to look out over the falls and listen to the sound of the water as it roared down the mountainside. "Yea, a good night to explore, for now anyway." She tipped her head to the north where the dark clouds were gathering. "I expect we'll be getting some snow soon. My name is Jynn, by the way. Do you live around here or just visiting?" She hadn't caught any pack scent but that was hardly indicative of anything. She knew many loners that would find territories that suited them and then they would just live in those and surrounding terras. Jynn was too restless for that but she could understand some of the appeal. Once she was done exploring the north she planned to find a nice territory or two down in Auster to wait out the winter.
Lúta's journey led her into Northern Boreas. It was a beautiful night but she couldn't help but wonder why her feet had brought her here of all places. She'd grown up in a northern climate, lived most of her life in a place such as this but still she could not tell if what she was feeling was nostalgia or something else. She worked her way up the peaks, seeking to get a bird's eye view of the surrounding terrain. The climb was good for her mind, drawing her focus from straying thoughts to the task at hand. When she arrived at the top she saw two peculiar wolves. A glowing youth with a coat that seemed to swirl with several colors and one who appeared like a stretched out fox. "Oh sorry, I wasn't expecting to find anyone. I hope I'm not disturbing you.
Shortly after she spoke her question the sound of shuffling rocks and panting caught her attention. She turned to see a lovely woman cloaked in blue arrive at the top. Jynn smiled. "Oh, you're not bothering us. We're just taking in the sights." She looked to Ardyn. He didn't seem like the sort to get upset by a little extra company as long as the woman was a friendly sort and not out to start trouble. Jynn preferred to spar for fun but if needed she could deal serious damage. Jynn turned her gaze back out to the valley and the soft golden glow of the moon. She wasn't one for the cold of the north but sights like this were almost worth the discomfort.
