Strangers in strange places

Kotori had never heard of the wraith’s woods to know about fears of getting lost or a spirit being lost inside should he die. All Kotori knew about it was that he had found his way to it while roaming. Kotori had entered t with the same mild curiosity he took to any place he was exploring. The wolf didn’t have the heart of a traveler that needed to see every place, he only needed time away from home.
The young man stepped off the path early into entering the forest. What fun was there in just following a path? The wind blew through the tree’s, the rustle of the leaves a pleasant backdrop noise. Kotori scented the wind searching for anything of interest whether it be food or danger. It was amazing how much nicer the weather was so far south. At home there was concerns of snow and yet here the weather was pleasant. Kotori saw no reason to go home anytime soon. Not smelling a threat he lay down in the grass and rolled back and forth enjoying the fresh green grass against his back. Yah, that felt good.

An explorer at heart, Bowen's paws led her many places. Today they led her to a great stretch of woodland that seemed shrouded by mist. The young fae didn't fear much, so it didn't cross her mind that she shouldn't go inside without being accompanied by another. Haiku or Artorias surely would have come with her, but sometimes a lady just needed some time to herself. Pushing into the woodland without a second thought, Bowen moved along, her nose lifted so that she could stare upwards into the dark, fingerlike branches that reached out above her. Not exactly paying attention to the ground in front of her, she didn't see the horned boy until it was too late. With an Oof of alarm, Bowen tripped over the rolling form and landed face first in the grass on the other side of him, belly to belly with a stranger. How great.

Yup, the grass felt great, he had just found that perfect spot, the one that makes you sigh in rapt pleasure and as he just about to take a deep content breath he instead let out a ‘ooof’ sort of sound with an exhale as someone tripped over him. Kotori shifted his head ready to growl at an attacker, but the one who fell next to him didn’t seem to have any intent upon evil that he could tell.
He gave Bowen a dubious look, “So, you often go walking in the woods without bothering to watch your step?” There was obvious irritation in his voice. He got up, shaking his coat out with a resigned sigh. She had messed up his moment! “You ok?” The question was given in that tolerant sort of way that showed limited interest but at least he asked?

Crows sounded overhead as Bowen gave off a soft groan. She'd hurt her nose a bit on her landing. "I'm sorry," she murmured before pushing herself to her paws and sliding over the belly of the prone brute much like a seal so that she could get all four paws on the opposite side of him. Bowen gave her small frame a shake and turned to look at the speckled boy. She could sense the irritation and even if she couldn't, his words belied the feeling. A soft huff ghosted past pale pink nares. "I was looking at the trees. They look like reaching fingers," she pointed out before her viridescent gaze narrowed. "Do you often roll around in the middle of pathways?"
Giving her head a shake, the dainty fae moved further away. The deeper the woods went, the darker they became. Parting ways with the boy, Bowen followed a path to the left. She walked for a short time until she saw an opening which led her to... Giving her head a tilt, Bo looked upon the irritating boy once more. The path had led her right back to the same place.

Kotori had been enjoying a private feel good moment and she had totally killed it. She didn’t even to seem apologetic enough in his mind. Tree’s looking like they had fingers was more important than watching where she was walking? Seriously?
Kotori kept his ears back halfway in that look of petty irritation just for the sake of doing so. “At least I didn’t trip over anyone finding a good spot. And yah, if the spot best for rolling in happens to be in the middle of path then that’s where I roll. It just happened that way.”
She walked off and surely that was the end of it. Kotori snorted to himself and looked down at the flattened grass wondering if he was going to give it another shot. The mood was just gone. Kotori took a step away from his grass thinking to meander again and then suddenly the girl was back near him again. “You’re back fast.” The words given with some caution, he couldn't think up any great reason for her to return or anything good to come from it.

Bowen had no idea who the boy was, but she did know that he was terribly irritating. She couldn't leave the clearing fast enough. Finding herself back there brought a frown to her face. His words made her huff aloud before she motioned to the path behind her with a push of her head. "The path over there leads to this exit here." Again she looked around her, mostly up in the air at the skeleton fingered trees. Crows had begun to amass in the branches and Bowen suddenly decided that she'd had enough. Perhaps she would return sometime with Artorias or Haiku. Being as small as she was, she didn't feel entirely safe here. "Well, don't get eaten, I guess." Turning, she made her way back through the woods using the same path that she'd come in on. Thankfully, that one was a straight shot and she made her way out and to freedom at a quick clip.
