Sparrow hadn't gotten together with her favorite girl cousin in some time. She carried alcohol with her to the woman's pack- god knew she probably needed a break from the alphaing and all that- and set it down triumphantly. The sun had just set and the night was crisp. All they needed was a warm spot and for everyone else to fuck off for a few hours. Sparrow called out to the alpha as the alpha and not as Theory. This was serious business and she couldn't have Theory shirking away just because it was actually a social call. Meetings? Scoldings? Saving pups from the rapids? It could wait because there was a guest at the border calling for the alpha. That oughta get her up and coming.

The winter had finally broken but the fall weather was miserable. There had been a smatttering of border calls, all friendly, but she was still getting back into the swing of business-as-usual for an alpha. They had been buried so deeply in snow for so long that she'd nearly forgotten there was an outside world at all. When she heard the call at the border she was quick to respond - best way to reacclimate herself, after all, was by doing. And it's not like there was another alpha that would answer the call. Putting on her best welcome to Abaven! face, Theory set off to meet her guest at a brisk pace. Once Sparrow was within her sight line, her pace slowed to a jaunty trot and a smirk grew on her face. "Yes, how can I help you, Guest Whom I've Never Seen Before?"

"Yes, how can I help you, Guest Whom I've Never Seen Before?" Was the greeting Theory gave her. Sparrow flashed her a toothy smile and gave her the MOST polite bow.

"Yess, miss alpha, sir, I'm looking for my dearest cousin with whom I'd like to share a drink- or several- with. Could you tell her that her favorite cousin and definitely not a pirate is here for her?"

Sparrow kept up the thin ruse with a cheeky smile, pivoting to show off the alcohol she brought. It was definitely just a social call. Sparrow glanced around. "Y'all got any uhhh fires or something. It's kinda cold still yanno?"

Theory sputtered a laugh and tucked her head into her chest to hide both the mirth that lightened her eyes and the beginning of a smile. Sparrow certainly knew how to keep things light, which she always appreciated. Being an alpha, even after all these years, still felt stifling. It was easy enough to ignore when she was caught up in the throes of day-to-day; there wasn't much time to stop and ruminate. It was days like today, where patrols were finished and she was wandering idly, that it all came bearing down. Sparrow had picked the perfect time to show up. "I'll take a drink or two with my favorite cousin any day," she replied before throwing herself on the ground just on the other side of the Abaven border. "What did you bring me? I didn't know pirates liked to share their treasures."

Sparrow mirrored Theory's laughter. The woman came readily over to Sparrow's side of the border. She mentioned pirates not liking to share their treasure and Sparrow mocked offense, "Why would I not want to share with my absolute favorite cousin in the whole world? Definitely no ploy for some secret Intel or a build up to the world's strongest alliance or anything." Sparrow played coy for a moment before offering a less wry smirk. "Or maybe I just got bored with all the cold and the melting snow. You know pirates know how to have a good time, but they don't really know how to have a chill time besides being actually cold because it's cold outside, yanno?"

Sparrow rustled through the bottles, placing them each out in a little line. There were four in all and that would be more than double what either of them should drink... Probably.

"That's why I only brought the cheap stuff, but it'll get you going as long as you can keep it down. But if the alcohol is good then that makes for a pretty lame punishment game, doesn't it?"

She led into the real reason she was here. How better to know her cousin than a little game?

"Drink or dare? Pack secrets off limits this time." Sparrow said with a wink. "You start."

Theory groaned at Sparrow's cheeky jokes. "I am sick, sick, sick of snow... melting or otherwise." She wriggled back and forth, massaging her spine on a fallen stick on the ground. "Ahh... there's the spot." These dreary patrols had stiffened her muscles. Hopefully this coming change of the season would be milder than the last. Theo wasn't sure if she could handle another endless winter when they'd just recovered from the last one. "Okay, okay," she rolled to her paws, stretching long and low as her joints popped. The alpha chewed the cork out of one of the bottles and took a deep slug, wincing as it burned down her throat. "Ugh, cheap stuff is right." Her eyes were slits as she willed the bitter, nauseating taste to leave her mouth. "I guess I started with drink - so I'm going to dare you. Do a... back flip, over that ravine there. A front flip will also be begrudgingly be accepted," Theory conceded, gesturing towards a steep slope over yonder that had the trickle of a stream at the bottom. It was a narrow impasse - anyone could make it over if they got a good running start. Probably.

Theory seemed to shed her alpha persona willingly and relaxed into Sparrow's company easily. It was like they had grown up as cousins or something. Without any banter, she took a swig from the drink and Sparrow blinked. "I meant uh- you go first as fart as the drink or dare, but go wild." Her smile returned easily when Theory issued her a dare. Now, Sparrow was an idiot, but she was stone cold sober, "Well, look, you don't got near enough alcohol in me for that yet- so I'll drink." Sparrow took a hearty swig, coughing lightly as the liquid burned its way down. "Okay, Theory, Drink or I dare you toooooo...." Sparrow looked around for a moment. "I dare you pee on that tree like a man. C'mon, you're the alpha, leg up girl!"

She snorted at Sparrow's challenge, stealing another swig once her cousin finished. It raced down her throat like lightning. The heat it left behind was almost intense enough to be unpleasant - almost. Liquor warmed her from within, from the tip of her short tail right down to her toes. Theory wriggled her front paws back and forth, getting used to the feeling of the alcohol. "I don't think I've ever really tried before... just didn't occur to me," she laughed. Why would it? Frankly, males looked ridiculous when they lifted a leg. Downright vulgar. Was it just an invitation for the world to look at their unmentionables? "Why d'you think they do it? To show off?" Theory added, ambling over to a tree and lifting a leg. Try as she might, she couldn't summon anything with Sparrow right there. "Stop staring at me!" She said, trying to whisper, but she was just tipsy enough now that it came out comically loud.

Theory said she hadn't ever tried and Sparrow stammered, "Really?? That's like ALL I used to want to do as a pup. That and climb trees, but now I'm too fat for that." Theory asked why males lifted their legs to pee, suggesting it was to show off. "Obviously to see who has the biggest balls and uh... flexibilities?" Theory went to a tree to try, but she couldn't and eventually yelled for Sparrow to stop staring. Sparrow cackled, downing more drink after. "Who said I was staring??" She shouted back, slurring a good bit.

Sparrow hauled herself up and went to face Theory in possibly the world's most awkward stare down. She lifted her own leg and urged herself to piss. "Wolf who pees first wins?"

"Your priorities as a child concern me," she said through gritted teeth, suddenly wishing she'd drank more. A lot more. Maybe then she'd feel that pleasant, strange warmth that seemed to give wolves courage (or was it stupidity?) when they were drunk. After all, too much drink had led Rhyme and Shaye into bed, and they were cousins. Now she needed to drink more to forget about her sisters' origin story. "I didn't think... balls... came in many sizes," Theory sputtered. "At least, the literal kind. Alright - I need to drink." This conversation was getting ridiculous. Theo dove for the bottle and took a few healthy swigs until she dropped the bottle, sputtering a bit at the taste. Sparrow stood nose to nose with her, daring her to pee like a man. "This is worse than a pack challenge. I hate this," she declared, glaring at Sparrow. At the same time, she couldn't help but smile. Her cousin had the magical ability to never, ever give a shit. It unlocked a pure joy in her that she thought she'd left behind long ago, when she was made alpha and had to put away the games and fun of unburdened youth. "Okay, okay, okay!" She screwed up her eyes tight. "I can't see you so you're obviously not there!" Theory lifted her leg, stumbling a little bit, then finally managed to pee. "I didn't hear you pee!" she yelled, eyes still closed. "I win, I win!"

Sparrow snickered at all of Theory's griping and bantering. She stayed there, but halfway through settled for leaning on the tree. Her bladder was dry, but her encouragement seemed to work as Theory finally managed to pee. She shouted at Sparrow about it and Sparrow could barely catch her breath between laughs. "You sure are excited about taking a piss, huh? Hope your packmates don't hear us." She throttled into more hyena like laughter as she took to finishing a bottle and stumbling over to the victor. "Did you piss on your leg?" She managed to gasp. "Sorry, just gotta ask."

After she finally caught her breath, she gave a short shake of her coat, "So I guess it's time to backflip over the ravine, huh?"

Theory could try to stop her- it was too late. With a few kicks, Sparrow shot off, aiming to do at least some sort of flip over the ravine.

Theory sputtered a guttural, wild laugh at her crude joke. Rhyme would keel over if he could see her, but he'd made his own share of drunken mistakes. At least a little piss wouldn't get anyone thrown out of their family. "Sshhh! They'll hear if you keep talking so loud," she giggled, speaking in a half-strangled whisper. "N-noo, I'm all clean," Theory insisted. That much was true - at least she was pretty sure. Her entire body had that edges-worn-down, tipsy feeling - from nose to tail-tip, she was completely buzzed. "Heyhey I was just kid - " She spun to watch Sparrow's take off, her mouth gaping open as she executed some kind of insane acrobatic flip, completely nailing the landing. Without stopping to think, she followed after - but with a normal, sane, regular jump. Even so, she couldn't stick the landing. Theo went sliding on her butt, barreling straight into Sparrow.
