New day

Briar trotted along the edge of the water, following the curve of the beach. Over the last season or so with all the traveling and training she had been doing her body had started to show the effects of that. She had started to slim down, all the last traces of puppy fat fading away and leaving behind only slim, toned muscle. It wasn’t like she wasn’t eating enough—she was pretty sure Lia wouldn’t allow that to happen—but still, she was enjoying the way she was developing and she didn’t want that to stop now that she was back to staying in the Armada consistently until the summer. She started doing these runs in the mornings along with a patrol just to get some distance under her paws and make sure she was staying active.
She looked out across the ocean in the direction of Auster with a flick of her ears before refocusing her gaze on the path ahead of her. After her talk with Bowen before she left she decided there was no point in pining over The Hallows and how much she wanted to be there. She would get there before she knew it. The rest of winter and spring would fly by and once summer came she’d be able to have what she wanted. It didn’t make sense to continue making herself miserable in the meantime. She still had her family here and even if she didn’t feel that close to them most of the time they were still family.
She reached the edge of the beach where it began to turn into Ashen territory and she slowed her steps, turning around and doubling back toward the Armada training area. With her patrol and run done the day was pretty open for whatever she wanted to do. She looked at the training grounds and noticed that no one had maintained them recently and there was some oceanic things washed up around the sandy arenas. With a little shrug she figured that would be an easy enough task to do before she moved on to something else so she started picking up and moving bits of driftwood, a clump of seaweed, and other various obstacles that might get in the way during a spar.

Grimshaw hadn't been with the Armada for long, but he already felt more at home here than he ever had in the Hallows. The structured training, patrolling, and even hunting were building not only his body, but his mind as well. Gone were the days of dwelling on his past. Now was the time for growth and he would see to it that he would overcome what has plagued him for so long. It had been some time since he found himself in the training ring and wondered if anyone today would be interested in sparring with him, or giving him a lesson of some kind perhaps. With the recent loss of the General, he wondered who would be taking over most of the training.
He found himself strolling up to the rings but a moment later and found that he wasn't the first here. Briar, a girl he recognized from back when they were young and he was a part of the hallows, seemed to be cleaning whatever had found it's way up from the ocean during high tide. Aware that she and Artorias used to be friends, but completely unaware of anything since then, Grimshaw approached with a loose smile. He couldn't remember a time that they had actually met, so he kept his greeting polite.
"You're Briar, right?" He asked as he strolled up, pausing some steps away to give her space while she worked. "Would you like some help with that?"

Grimshaw has a septum ring, a fluffy curled tail, and a horrible facial scar (hover)

Briar dropped off another hunk of driftwood on the beach away from the training areas and when she turned around she spotted the dark young man walking toward her, making her ears perk curiously. She had caught glimpses of him around here and there around the pack, but he was one of the wolves that had joined in the span of time when she had been very disconnected from the Armada during the time when they thought her mother had died and following her father's bite so she hadn't yet had the chance to meet him properly. He seemed strangely familiar though and when he asked to confirm her name while she was walking over to a clump of seaweed she felt even more like she should know his name since he knew hers. It was easy enough to reason away though since she was Sirius' daughter and perhaps he had heard her name around in conversation or something like that.
Either way, she nodded in agreement to his question, offering him a friendly grin. "Yep, you guessed correctly." She glanced down at the clump of seaweed between them when he asked if she would like some help and nodded again, giving a little wave of her paw toward the rest of the training arenas. "Sure! I'm just clearing out some junk that's washed up during the high tides. It looks like no one has cleaned up out here in a while and all this will get in the way during training." She picked up the seaweed and carried it away to the pile she had been forming on a separate part of the shore, getting all the odds and ends out of the way. She thought perhaps she could come back with a little cart with Lia to collect it all and dispose of it somewhere else or think up some crafting projects they could use it for, but for now this was good enough just to get it out from under paw.
With a second set of paws to help the job was done pretty quickly, only taking maybe ten minutes before the training arenas were completely clear. She gave a pleased grin at the sight of them, looking over to the darker furred wolf appreciatively. "Thanks for your help! That went a lot faster than it would have otherwise." Her turquoise gaze went curious then, asking, "Sorry, what's your name? I feel like I should know it, but it's escaped me for some reason."
