Death inside the wall
Poe
Hollow, emotionless eyes lurked around as the Mendacium made her way, a way that was promising to be interesting. The silence was notorious as the sun began to go down the horizons, but not as it always did. The stars had weird shapes, stretched as the sun as far as she could tell, wasn't moving anymore. Static on the sky. Weird but that wasn't enough to break with Imperia's blank expression, she felt nothing really. Nothing amused her in this world, not even her family. She stuck with them only as a responsibility, a must but nothing from love. Love? Imperia never knew what that was, so she lacked of it. Like if it never existed in her heart. She then resumed her stroll, finding more unusual stuff. From the bark of the sparse tress glowing blue, similar to how they would shine under the moon's light. That was odd. So she approached to find out. "speech" |
The challenge was over, and night was falling. It was certainly taking its sweet time of it, to say the least. Having quickly abandoned the cacophonous crowd that had gathered to witness the battle for the dissolved pack, and the uproar that had followed, he had sought distance and the quiet that would come with solitude. However, he'd happened upon the trail of a fae that happened to wear some traces of his family's scent mingling with her own. How curious. Perhaps this was one of Manea's handmaidens. Heavy paws carried the horned brute along the fresh scent trail of the strange femme until she was within sight. Monochrome and petite, at least by their family's standards. The hellish male made no effort to hide the sounds of his approach, and instead loomed over her as he drew up along her left side with a calculating stare. Before it could be considered rude, he lifted his gaze to the stone wall that they were both trodding alongside. The pale moon cast its rays upon the smooth stone, and set it shining brightly with the glitter of frost and thin drifts of snow. "Look there," he grunted gesturing with a jerk of his thick snout towards the retreating hind end of a snowshoe hare into its burrow at the base of the stone wall. "was it.. purple?" he asked hesitantly, amber eyes narrowing as he lowered his skull towards the ground in hopes he could catch one more glimpse of the fleeing animal. As one little foot drew the rest of the way into the underground burrow, he confirmed to himself that yes, it was purple. A shade or two lighter than his cousin, but undeniably draped in a coat of lavender instead of the usual ivory. Grunting dismissively, he returned his attention to the ebony marked fae beside him. "Poe Mendacium," he rumbled. "I noticed you were amongst Manea's supporters." he added conversationally. SPEECH || actions || OTHERS |

Approaching, she with her own analytical eyes looked over the unusual matters this place was suffering from, never seeing such thing in her life. But then as the chilly breeze met her brindle coat, a voice joined the silence, manly chords made her find out it was a male. But when her cold expression turned to face the newcomer, she saw it was a relative, though she didn't know his position within the family's tree. But he as all of them had gifts, gifts she wasn't born with, and that costed her a lifetime of love. Instead it brought loneliness and cruelty that shaped her into the heartless wolf she is today. Seeing someone die before her eyes wouldn't take a tear nor expression out of her. "No. It's blue." She answered dryly as always, just answering out of what she could see. She showed no fear, no emotions. Just blank, neutral. Nothing scared her, not even death and all was normal for her. "Imperia Mendacium." Sharing her name as it seemed he didn't know her. But when did that surprise her? Being the outcast of the family, she wouldn't expect everyone to even know she even existed. Only Manea knew of her so far. But she doubted she would know all, just a few she guessed. She wondered why was he here, why was he talking to her? Did he need anything? She didnt feel in a way or another about him being here, but she wasn't used to have company. "speech" |
The fae wore a steely expression, her eyes empty of anything other than cold calculation. Well, he could certainly appreciate stoicism amongst strangers. When she spoke, it was without almost any inflection at all, each statement was one of simple fact. "No. It's blue." she replied bluntly, and kept walking. The titan grunted wordlessly in acknowledgement, but found himself drawn to find out the truth. It had looked purple to him, and now that he had someone contesting his observations, he wanted to prove himself. Long legs picked up his pace, skirting around the femme and towards the burrow at the base of the wall that he'd seen. Over the crunch of wet snow beneath his massive paws, he nearly didn't hear her speak up again. "Imperia Mendacium." she said, giving the beast pause. A small grin curved over his handsome features, baring pearlescent fangs to the pale moonlight. Before he would bother expending the effort of digging through the permafrost hardened turf, the titan thrust his massive ash gloved paw into the entrance of the burrow. A few sharp teeth to the thick leather of his pawpads would be a small price to pay to discover who was right about the pelt of the mysterious hare. "So you're family!" he said with that grin still tipping up the corner of his lips. He felt a few cautious snaps of flat hare teeth catching the thick fur at the ends of his toes, but each time he curled his claws forth to catch the tender flesh of the animal's face, it was gone. Fuck. "You'll have to forgive me for not knowing, I don't think I've seen you before. Whose kid are you?" he asked in the light tone that was meant to invite conversation, removing his thick forearm from the burrow as he did. Then, he hooked his toes around the edges of the burrow entrance and started pulling the earth away. Muddied snow flew around his burly form on all sides as he fought through the hard substrate in search of his quarry. The faint glow that began to emanate from deeper within the hollow was certainly promising, but he couldn't quite tell what hue it was, exactly. He'd have to pull the little critter out by its ears to tell for certain. SPEECH || actions || OTHERS |

Imperia inspectionated the wall, building inside her brain a river of ideas, possibilities of why this was happening. Both the skies and the creatures featured unnatural appearances. They were in winter not in summer, so the days shouldn't be ending this late. But as she was thinking, Poe as he called himself, seemed or felt excited for finding out she was part of the family, but she made no expression nor she reflected happiness, just cold eyes staring at the larger male. "Yes." Long ago she stopped truly caring for them, for those who turned their backs on her just for not being as majestic as everyone was. "I dont remember who were my shitty "parents". Nor did she cared to remember their faces. "I dont care." She stated as she resumed her investigation. Giving him nothing but her rear. "speech" |
Her short, blunt response affirmed his mostly rhetorical statement. He wasn't paying quite as much attention as he normally might have, busily tearing the soil away from the edges of the burrow in hopes of slowly unearthing the unfortunate hare that had made the critical error of crossing his path. He could see her moving in his peripheral vision, but didn't dare look away for fear the faintly glowing animal would flee between his legs as soon as he took his eyes off of it. He thought he glimpsed trembling whiskers amidst the flying soil, but found himself once more losing part of his focus when Imperia spoke up again. The monochrome fae seemed to only speak in a monotone. "I dont remember who were my shitty "parents"." she grunted, earning a harsh chuff in response from the busily digging brute. "I dont care." the smaller damsel added, as though for good measure. "Got it, little orphan Impy it is." he drawled with a lazy half smile, glancing her way for the barest moment. She wasn't paying him the slightest attention, instead focused on an inspection of the wall that sheltered them from a breeze blowing southwards as the sun set. He hauled a paw-sized stone out of his way, and found himself staring into the face of his quarry. The whites of its eyes rolled in terror, frantic gaze searching for a way out. Crouching down, the titan blocked the hare's path from the remains of its burrow. Thick haunches folded until he dropped them heavily into the snow, horns glinting in the low light of the impossibly long twilight. He cocked his heavy skull to one side, whiskey gold eyes narrowing as he got a better look at the terrified snowshoe. "Looks like you were right, Impy." he announced without looking up at the fae to ensure she was also looking. "It is blue. Are you hungry?" low vocals rumbled deep in his chest in mirthful tones as a wicked grin crossed his ruby stained maw. SPEECH || actions || OTHERS |
